Abstract

a presente invenção refere-se a um método de produção de uma celulose nanofibrilada (nfc), o produto de celulose nanofibrilado obtido e o uso do produto de celulose nanofibrilada. o método compreende as etapas de: fornecer fibras celulósicas dispersas em água; água de troca de solvente nas fibras em um solvente orgânico tal como álcool, adequadamente etanol ou isopropanol; impregnar as fibras com uma solução compreendendo um ácido alifático halogenado que pos-sui mais de 2 átomos de carbono; tratamento térmico das fibras impregnadas em uma temperatura de mais do que 50 °c em uma solu-ção alcalina compreendendo um solvente orgânico, cuja solução é opcionalmente aquosa, para carboxialquilar as fibras; lavar as fibras; converter os grupos de carboxila na sua forma de contra-íon de metal alcalino; opcionalmente filtrar as fibras; dispersar as fibras em água; desintegrar mecanicamente as fibras para fornecer o produto de nfc.
