Abstract
Nueva proteína Cry de Bacillus thuringiensis con actividad insecticida para combatir un hemíptero. La invención se refiere a un nuevo gen que codifica una proteína Cry (o delta-endotoxina), a la propia proteína codificada por dicho gen, a los sistemas para la expresión de la misma (vectores y células hospedadoras), y a la utilización de dicho gen y/o dicha proteína para combatir plagas de hemípteros, con preferencia por el pulgón verde, Myzus persicae, tanto mediante el uso de una composición que contenga la nueva proteína y/o un sistema para su expresión, como mediante plantas transgénicas en las que se expresa el gen. Dichas composiciones y plantas transgénicas son de especial interés, pues la proteína nueva proteína Cry presenta una capacidad insecticida con Myzus persicae especialmente buena, en comparación con otras proteínas Cry conocidas, que presentaban una capacidad insecticida reducida contra áfidos y no se conocía ninguna activa con Myzus persicae.
