Abstract
Un procedimiento de analizar electroquímicamente una muestra de líquido fisiológico para determinar la concentración de un analito presente en el líquido fisiológico, en el que el procedimiento previene que la descarga electrostática interfiera con la medición electroquímica, comprendiendo el procedimiento las etapas de: a) proporcionar un dispositivo de prueba que comprende una porción de aplicación de líquido que tiene al menos un par de electrodos y un reactivo; b) buscar una muestra i) proporcionar un potencial predeterminado a través del al menos par de electrodos; y ii) detectar una corriente en el al menos un par de electrodos que es igual o superior a un valor umbral; en el que el valor umbral de la corriente detectada es indicativo de la presencia de un líquido fisiológico presente en el área de aplicación del líquido de prueba del dispositivo de prueba; tras la detección de una corriente igual a o superior al valor umbral, el procedimiento comprende además: c) monitorizar la magnitud de la corriente durante un primer periodo de tiempo, TESD; d) si la magnitud de la corriente es igual a o inferior al valor umbral en cualquier momento durante el primer periodo de tiempo TESD, entonces volver a la etapa (b); e) si la magnitud de la corriente sigue siendo superior al valor umbral durante el primer periodo de tiempo TESD, entonces usar la magnitud de la corriente al final de un segundo periodo de tiempo T1 como una lectura de prueba indicativa de la concentración de un analito en un líquido fisiológico presente; en el que el primer periodo de tiempo TESD es inferior al segundo periodo de tiempo T1 y comprende una porción inicial del segundo periodo de tiempo T1; y en el que el periodo de tiempo TESD es suficientemente largo para detectar una disminución en la corriente por debajo del valor umbral en el evento de descarga electrostática.
