Abstract

Un difusor de gas para agitar una corriente de metal fundido que comprende un miembro de base y al menos una placa difusora de gas sujeta al mismo, para definir una cámara impelente de gas bajo dicha placa difusora, y medios para suministrar gas a dicha cámara impelente, comprendiendo dicha placa difusora de gas una base similar una placa formada de un material resistente al metal fundido, teniendo dicha base una serie de salientes espaciados en la superficie superior de la misma, teniendo dichos salientes medios de orificio de suministro de gas que se extienden hacia abajo a su través hasta la superficie inferior de dicha base similar a una placa, estando cada uno de dichos salientes conformado y espaciado de los salientes adyacentes de tal manera que las burbujas de gas que crecen en dichos medios de orificio de gas en contacto con el metal fundido están limitadas en cuanto a extensión lateral, para evitar la coalescencia con las burbujas que crecen en los medios de orificio de gas adyacentes.
