Abstract

Máquina de combustión giratoria que tiene: - un cilindro toroidal (25); - un rotor (22) o unidad de pistones montado en un árbol (30) para girar alrededor del eje del cilindro; - al menos dos pistones (34, 36) montados en el rotor, teniendo los pistones una sección transversal sustancialmente igual que la sección transversal del cilindro (25), estando el rotor y los pistones dispuestos de manera que el rotor gira, y los pistones recorren el volumen interno del cilindro; - un mecanismo de válvulas (42, 44) para abrir y cerrar la sección transversal del cilindro toroidal; - una salida de gas a presión (16) que deriva del cilindro que está en un lado del mecanismo de válvulas (42, 44); - una válvula de paso único (65) en la salida de gas a presión; - una cámara de gas a presión (62) para recibir gas que procede de la salida; - un conducto de salida de combustión (18) que deriva del cilindro que está en el lado opuesto del mecanismo de válvulas (42, 44); - una válvula (64, 66), para abrir y cerrar el conducto de combustión independientemente del mecanismo de válvulas; y - un medio (76) para encender una mezcla de gas combustible que está en el conducto de combustión; caracterizada porque hay una entrada de fluido motor permanentemente abierta (72) en el cilindro (25) y una salida de escape permanentemente abierta (74) en el cilindro (25) para, respectivamente, admitir fluido en y evacuar fluido desde lados opuestos del mecanismo de válvulas, estando la entrada de fluido motor y la salida de escape en posiciones que, en correspondencia con el diámetro del cilindro toroidal, son opuestas sustancialmente de forma diametral al mecanismo de válvulas (42, 44), y porque el mecanismo de válvulas comprende dos platos paralelos (42, 44) que giran en sentidos contrarios, cada uno con un corte en su periferia, estando los platos dispuestos de manera que su plano de rotación corta el cilindro por un punto alrededor de la circunferencia del cilindro.
