Abstract

La invención se refiere a nuevos copolicarbonatos que contienen las siguientes unidades estructurales de carbonato bifuncional recurrentes: A) al menos una de las unidades estructurales bifuncionales de carbonato de fórmula (I) en la que cada uno de los radicales R{sup,1} representan un radical alquilo C{sub,1}-C{sub,12}, preferiblemente un radical C{sub,1}-C{sub,3}, y especialmente un radical metilo o un halógeno, preferiblemente cloro o bromo, y n es un número entero desde 0 a 3, preferiblemente 0, y B) al menos una de las otras unidades estructurales de carbonato bifuncional distintas de A) de fórmula (II) en la que el radical -O-R-O- representa un radical difenolato en el que -R- es un radical aromático con 6 a 40 átomos de carbono que puede contener uno o varios núcleos aromáticos o núcleos aromáticos condensados, dicho núcleo opcionalmente contiene heteroátomos, que opcionalmente pueden ser sustituidos con radicales alquilo C{sub,1}-C{sub,12} o halógenos y puede contener radicales alifáticos, cicloalifáticos, núcleos aromáticos o heteroátomos como enlaces de puente de unión, con la excepción de al menos uno de los carbonatos de las unidades estructurales de carbonato bifuncional de la fórmula (III), en la que M representa un radical hidrocarbonado divalente con 1 a 8 átomos de carbono, O, CO, S, SO, ó SO{sub,2} y R{sub,2} y R{sub,5} son iguales o distintos entre sí y representan H o un radical hidrocarbonado con 1 a 5 átomos de carbono en cantidades de 5 a 95% respecto al número total de moles de las unidades estructurales de la fórmula (I) y (III). En particular los carbonatos preferidos son -3-(4-hidroxifenil)-1,1,3-trimetilindan-5-ol y bisfenol-M.
