Abstract
Procedimiento para oxidar contaminantes gaseosos en una corriente gaseosa de combustión, compuesta por gases de combustión, vapor de agua y uno o más contaminantes gaseosos seleccionados de entre el grupo formado por SO2, NO, NO2, NOx, H2S, y vapor de mercurio, pudiéndose eliminar más fácilmente esta forma oxidada de los contaminantes de la corriente gaseosa, mediante absorción acuosa, que en su forma no oxidada, que comprende: (a) la inyección de suficiente cloro en una forma gaseosa, una forma líquida, o como solución acuosa, en la corriente gaseosa de combustión, mientras esta corriente alcance una temperatura superior a 100°C, para que por ello haga reaccionar al cloro con los contaminantes y permitiendo que reaccione la mezcla corriente gaseosa de combustión/cloro durante un tiempo suficiente para que propicie que tenga lugar un grado significativo de oxidación de los contaminantes, por lo que se forme una corriente gaseosa oxidada de combustión que comprenda gases de combustión, vaporde agua y uno o más de dichos contaminantes oxidados; (b) depuración de la corriente gaseosa oxidada de combustión con agua, o solución acuosa, de pH menor que o igual a 7; y añadiendo suficiente sal alcalina de yoduro metálico para precipitar el mercurio contenido en dicha agua o de la solución acuosa de pH menor que o igual a 7, tal como requiera el nivel de concentración.
