Abstract

An exhaust muffler 21 comprising an inner envelope shield 26, the internal space of which is used as expansion chamber 25 arranged to make exhaust gases E pass therethrough, a catalyst 72 located in expansion chamber 25, and a separator wall 53 (A) located in said expansion chamber 25 to divide it into other chambers that are upstream and downstream of catalyst 72, respectively. The partition wall 53 (A), in turn, comprises a main body 55 of said partition wall arranged so that it extends through the expansion chamber 25, and a cylindrical flange 56 formed along an edge part outer circumferential of the main body 55 of the partition wall. An outer circumferential surface of the flange 56 is attached to an inner surface of the inner wrapping shield 26. The outer circumferential surface of the flange 56 is firmly attached to the inner surface of the inner shield 26 along the entire circumference of said flange.
