SE HAN IDENTIFICADO TRES NUEVOS GENES QUE RESIDEN EN LA ZONA CRITICA DE LA INSUFICIENCIA ESTATURAL DE APROXIMADAMENTE 500 KB SOBRE EL CROMOSOMA X E Y. POR LO MENOS UNO DE ESTOS GENES ES RESPONSABLE DEL FENOTIPO DE LA ESTATURA CORTA. EL ADNC QUE CORRESPONDE A ESTE GEN SE PUEDE USAR EN INSTRUMENTOS DIAGNOSTICOS, PARA CARACTERIZAR LUEGO LA BASE MOLECULAR DEL FENOTIPO DE PEQUEÑA ESTATURA.
