Improvements in automatic voltage regulators characterized by comprising a voltage sensitive circuit that contains a voltage or constant current device or another non-linear resistor to produce a direct current output dependent on variations from a reference level to an input of continuous voltage to voltage sensitive circuit; circuits to eliminate in the voltage sensitive circuit a continuous voltage derived and dependent on the output of the generator; a transducer prepared to control the magnitude of an alternating current in accordance with the direct current output of the voltage sensitive circuit and circuits for applying to the generator and/or a motor driven by a control voltage derived from the alternating current output of the transducer to automatically regulate the generator output voltage.
