Abstract

829,945. Automatic voltage-control systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. April 17, 1956 [April 18, 1955], No. 11659/56. Class 38 (4). In a D.C. voltage stabilizer of the series transistor kind, in which the output voltage is compared with a reference voltage in the base/ emitter circuit of a control transistor, the output of which controls the series transistor; the output voltage is backed-off by a second reference potential to provide the input to the control transistor. A load 19 is supplied from a D.C. source through the emitter/collector circuit of the series transistor 10. The load voltage is opposed by the second reference source 15 to provide an error signal across resistor 18. This is compared with a reference source 25 to control transistor 20 which varies the base/collector voltage of transistor 10. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the reference batteries 15, 25 are replaced by zener diodes.
