TAMBIEN ACORTAN EL TIEMPO DE COMUNICACION EN UN MODO DE COMUNICACION DOBLE COMPLETO Y PERMITEN LA CONMUTACION APROPIADA DE LA COMUNICACION DOBLE COMPLETA EN EL RELEVO ENTRE TRANSMISION/RECEPCION. LAS SEÑALES DIS-CFR, LA SEÑALES EOP-DCN, LAS SEÑALES NSS-TSI Y LAS SEÑALES TSI-DCS DE UN PROTOCOLO DE COMUNICACION POR FAX ESTAN CONECTADAS POR SEÑALES DE SINCRONIZACION DE MANERA QUE LAS SEÑALES DE SINCRONIZACION SEAN ENVIADAS INCLUSO DESPUES DE ENVIAR LA SEÑAL DE PROTOCOLO. ASI EL ENVIO DE LA SEÑAL DE SINCRONIZACION DURANTE UN SEGUNDO CUANDO LA SIGUIENTE SEÑAL DE PROTOCOLO ES ENVIADA NO ES NECESARIO Y SE REDUCE EL TIEMPO REQUERIDO PARA LA SEÑAL DE PROTOCOLO.
