CONSTITUTION:In interrupting the means of transmission for a facsimile device (G3+G2 machine) provided with G3 and G2 functions, after a line cut-off instruction DCN signal used with the G3 function mode and a step iterruption signal PIS used in the G2 function mode are both transmitted, the lines are disconnected. As a result, even if the G3+G2 machine makes a trouble and the procedure is interrupted before the establishment of hand-shake at a called station side, since signals PIS and DCN are returned to a calling station side, the lines can be cut off immediately. Thus, useless employment of lines is elminated.
