Abstract
El racémico (+/-)-1-azabiciclo{[}2.2.1{]}heptan-3-ona puede resolverse eficazmente en sus isómeros {(}1S,4R{- y {(}1R,4S{-1- azabiciclo{[}2.2.1{]}heptan-3-ona mediante la formación de las sales de hemitartrato de di-p-toluolilo por combinación con ácido di-p- toluolil-L-tartárico y ácido di-p-toluolil-D-tartárico, respectivamente. La cristalización selectiva utilizando uno de los ácidos di-p-toluoiltartárico en una cantidad inferior a la estequiométrica en una mezcla disolvente adecuada permite aislar el isómero deseado como su di-p-toluoil hemitartrato con alta pureza isomérica. Una vez aislados, los hemitartratos se almacenan de manera estables y pueden utilizarse como tales en la preparación de fármacos y otros compuestos biológicamente activos, o pueden utilizarse para proporcionar la base libre de los isómeros 1- azabiciclo{[}2.2.1{]}heptan-3-ona respectivos.
