Abstract

Se describe un procedimiento para la hidrogenación continua de adiponitrilo (DNA) a hexametilén diamina (HMD) y opcionalmente a aminocapronitrilo (ACN) que consiste en la hidrogenación catalítica de adiponitrilo a temperatura relativamente baja (por ejemplo, 75ºC) y a presión relativamente baja (por ejemplo 500 psig) utilizando un catalizador de cobalto esponjoso (Raney Co) en un medio de reacción sustancialmente exento de agentes corrosivos. En dicho procedimiento la adición periódica de agua controla la producción de productos de reacción secundarios y la adición periódica de hidróxido de amonio regenera el catalizador. La hexametilén diamina es un intermedio importante para la síntesis de poliamidas tales como Nylos-6,6 y el aminocapronitrilo es un intermedio potencial de Nylon-6.
