Abstract
Un sistema de pila de combustible multielemento, comprendiendo el sistema un formador sustancialmente cilíndrico; una fuente de combustible de hidrógeno recargable; y una pluralidad de elementos de pila de combustible; en el que el formador comprende una serie de módulos de interconexión; en el que cada módulo de formador está perforado para permitir el paso de combustible a los elementos de la pila de combustible; en el que cada elemento de pila de combustible está posicionado radialmente hacia fuera del formador; estando provisto cada elemento de canales dispuestos para recibir y dirigir gas combustible, un colector de corriente de ánodo, una empaquetadura, una primera capa de refuerzo de difusión, un montaje de electrodo de membrana, una segunda capa de refuerzo de difusión y un colector de corriente de cátodo; en el que el colector de corriente de cátodo comprende un área perforada y leng¿ uetas en cada extremo diseñadas para ser intercaladas; en el que el colector de corriente de cátodo aplica una compresión uniforme al elemento de pila de combustible, de modo que se mantiene un buen contacto eléctrico dentro de cada elemento de pila de combustible; en el que los elementos de pila de combustible están conectados eléctricamente en serie por medio de los respectivos colectores de corriente de ánodo y cátodo; en el que los elementos de pila de combustible en cada extremo del formador tienen tapa para conexión al equipo; en el que el formador y los colectores de corriente tienen sustancialmente el mismo coeficiente de dilatación térmica; y en el que la fuente de combustible está acoplada a los elementos de pila de combustible.
