Abstract

Bacterial strain capable of metabolizing textile dyes. The bacterium was obtained in a pilot plant of active sludge used in the treatment of a textile residual water and selected in solid medium for its subsequent isolation and identification. The biochemical identification reactions (API 20E and complementary tests) indicate that the selected species is Pseudomonas putida. Its application for the removal of dyes from textile wastewater allows the degradation of this type of molecules that pose significant environmental problems.
