Abstract

Test and procedure for the evaluation of the rapid biodegradability of water by means of Pseudomonas putida. # The invention consists of a new kit and procedure for the evaluation of the "rapid biodegradability" of contaminated water. The test is based on the use of capsules containing an adequate proportion of lyophilized Pseudomonas putida bacteria and mineral salts that are added to the water whose biodegradability you want to evaluate. During three days of incubation at 30 ° C, the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is monitored and the biodegradability efficiency is calculated at the end of the test. # This test is aimed at the aqueous effluent treatment sector, especially of industrial origin for track biodegradability. The method solves the problems of repeatability and test time of traditional methods.
