EL PROCESO COMPRENDE : I) PONER EN CONTACTO LOS SULFUROS DE ZINC Y/O COBRE DERIVADOS DEL MINERAL CON EL ACIDO SULFURICO Y CON EL ACIDO NITRICO PARA FORMAR UNA MEZCLA DE REACCION EN UNA SOLUCION ACIDICA , II) MANTENER LA MEZCLA DE REACCION A UNA TEMPERATURA EN EL INTERVALO DE 110 GRADOS C A 170 GRADOS C, MIENTRAS SE MEZCLA CONTINUAMENTE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION, III) AÑADIR EL SUFICIENTE ACIDO SULFURICO Y ACIDO NITRICO A LA MEZCLA DE REACCION PARA FORMAR UN PRECIPITADO CLARO Y OTRO OSCURO EN LA MEZCLA DE REACCION; EL PRECIPITADO CLARO CONTIENE SALES DE SULFATO SOLUBLES EN AGUA DE SULFATO DE COBRE, SULFATO DE ZINC Y SULFATO DE HIERRO; Y EL PRECIPITADO OSCURO ES INSOLUBLE EN AGUA Y CONTENDRA PRINCIPALMENTE SULFURO Y GANGA ELEMENTAL, IV) INTRODUCIR UNA FUENTE DE OXIGENO EN LA MEZCLA DE REACCION PARA PROVOCAR LA OXIDACION EN PRESENCIA DEL AIDO NITRICO, DE LOS SULFUROS PARA SULFATAR Y PARA OXIDIZAR LOS PRODUCTOS DE REACCION NOX GASEOSO, PARA REGENERAR ACIDO NITRICO PARA LA MEZCLA DE REACCION, V) RETIRAR LOS PRECIPITADOS CLARO Y OSCURO Y CUALQUIER SOLUCION ACIDICA INCORPORADA DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION, VI) SEPARAR LOS PRECIPITADOS CLARO Y OSCURO DE LA SOLUCION ACIDICA EN PREPARACION, PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DEL PRECIPITADO CLARO PARA LA RECUPERACION DE SULFATO DE COBRE Y/O SULFATO DE ZINC DEL PRECIPITADO CLARO, Y VII) RECICLAR LA SOLUCION ACIDICA CON LA MEZCLA DE REACCION.
