EL CALENTAMIENTO SE PRODUCE EN UNA FORMA TAL QUE LA SALIDA DE VAPOR VARIA, SEGUN LAS NECESIDADES DE VAPOR DURANTE UN CICLO DE PLANCHADO. EL GENERADOR DE VAPOR PUEDE ESTAR DISEÑADO COMO UN DEPOSITO DE PRESION, EN EL QUE SE FORMA UNA COMPOSICION TAMPONADA DURANTE UNA INTERRUPCION DEL PLANCHADO, CON LO QUE AL COMIENZO DE UN CICLO DE PLANCHADO PUEDE SALIR UNA GRAN CANTIDAD DE VAPOR Y, AL MISMO TIEMPO, PUEDE CALENTARSE MUCHO LA PLACA DE BASE.
