UN ESPECTOMETRO DE DOS DIMENSIONES Y PASO DOBLE UTILIZA UN TELESCOPIO QUE CONTIENE SOLO COMPONENTES OPTICOS DE REFLEXION Y ESTA POR LO TANTO LIBRE DE ABERRACIONES CROMATICAS. EL TELESCOPIO ES TAN UTILIZADO EN COMBINACION CON OPTICAS DISPERSAS QUE PERMITE UN USO DE PASO DOBLE DE LA COMBINACION. EL TELESCOPIO TIENE UN ESTADO DE CORRECCION TAL QUE, POR EJ., UNA IMAGEN QUE TIENE UN LIMITE DE DIFRACCION A 800NM SE PRODUCE SOBRE UN CAMPO PLANO , CORRESPONDIENDO A UNA COBERTURA DE UN OBJETO DE GRAN ANGULO. ESTE ESTADO DE CORRECCION SE LLEVA A CABO CON SOLO DOS ESPEJOS, UNO DE LOS CUALES ES UNA SUPERFICIE CONICA (POR EJ. HIPERBOLICA) DE REVOLUCION, MIENTRAS QUE LA OTRA ES UN CORRECTOR DE REFLEXION ASFERICO GENERALIZADO POLINOMINAL; Y LOS DOS ESPEJOS SON SUPERFICIES DE REVOLUCION ROTACIONALMENTE SIMETRICAS, CADA UNA ALREDEDOR DE SU EJE DE REVOLUCION.
