LA OBTENCION DE MATERIALES VALIOSOS, ESPECIALMENTE CAROTINOIDES, A PARTIR DE ALGAS DE AGUA MARINA, ESPECIALMENTE DE DUNALIELLA, SE CONSIGUE MEDIANTE EXTRACCION DEL MATERIAL VALIOSO A PARTIR DEL CULTIVO DE SALMUERA SALINA SIN PREVIO ENRIQUECIMIENTO DE LA BIOMASA, PROCURANDOSE ANTES DE LA EXTRACCION, O DURANTE ELLA, UNA LIBERACION DEL MATERIAL VALIOSO A PARTIR DE LAS ALGAS POR APLICACION DE FUERZAS DE CIZALLADURA SUFICIENTES.
