Abstract

A rotary display unit of the type using triangular cross-section vanes (120) to provide three sequential displays is designed to allow vanes to be changed without the use of tools. Each vane is carried by a support member: (122: 124) at each end. The support members have spindles (44) that locate in fixed bearings (114: 116) in a housing (100). One support member (122) of each vane has its spindle (44) spring-biased to an extended position to retain the vane in position. The spindle is retractable by manual manipulation (45) to allow ready release of the vane assembly. The other support member (124) has cam follower parts (52) that are driven by a cam (130) mounted below the vanes, so that the vane is readily liftable from the cam drive without difficult disengagement. The support members (122) with the retractable spindles (44) are mounted down one side of the housing and an overlying flap (106) of the housing is mounted in a readily detachable fashion to allow access to the support members (122).
