Abstract

912,525. Handles for portable projection screens. DA-LITE SCREEN CO. Inc. July 18, 1961 [July 22, 1960], No. 25972/61. Class 97 (1). A carrying handle and screen adjusting device for a portable viewing screen as at 10 is characterized by an elongated body member as at 11 having an opening 14 in the upper end thereof providing a guide for a standard as at 12, said body member also including a body element as at 16 extending along said standard and spaced therefrom, having an extension as at 18 with a second guide opening therein as at 19, having a support arrangement as at 29 to provide a point for pivotal support of a screen casing for the viewing screen as at 30, having a handle arrangement as at 21 extending therefrom generally parallel to and spaced from said body element and said standard, and having an opening in one side thereof as at 23 intermediate said guides to rotatively support the hub end 24<SP>1</SP> of a crank as at 24 having a handle 26, whereby rotation of said handle in a plane parallel to said body element rotates said hub end in to and out of position to contact the opposed face of the standard to effect the clamping of said handle or to release from a fixed position on said standard. As shown (Fig. 3) latch means 32-34 are provided for releasably securing the screen casing 30 parallel to the standard and foldable legs 35 are provided on the said standard. A projection 27 is provided on the handle to limit rotation of the crank 24 and thereby to prevent total removal thereof.
