Abstract

The process comprises dissolving sodium stearate (4%-5%) in hot water (0%-5%) at 60 degree C together with a water- soluble dye (0.01%), shaking and adding ethyl alcohol (previously heated to 65 degree C) in order to make up the formula (some 89.99%-95.99% of ethyl alcohol). This is then shaken and heated for 10 minutes. On cooling a solid which is characterised by the fact that it contains 89.99% to 95.99% of ethyl alcohol is obtained. It is easily transportable and can be used to heat, cook, light fires or make signals, in the course of expeditions, camping, work, etc. The technical problem with fuels is their state, as most are gases or liquids, and present the risk of pressurised vessels in the case of gases and the risk of spillage in the case of containers for liquids. This product is packed in metal boxes of different sizes and is provided with a tripod to support the utensils used for cooking.
