Abstract

A lint removing apparatus for a circular knitting machine includes an air ejection pipe (36), e.g. supported for rotation by a lower rotatable body tube (23b) of a bearing housing (23), the ejection pipe (36) being rotated, via the body tube (23b) and a drive shaft (24), in response to rotation of the needle cylinder (15), in the same direction as the needle cylinder, and at a decreased speed e.g. approximating one-half the speed of rotation of the needle cylinder. The bearing housing (23) may support two ejection pipes (36, 39) respectively acting on the knitting instruments and the yarn feeders and detectors.
