Abstract

The fuel outlet bore (9) of the rotor (7) is dimensioned in such a way that the rotor carburator (2) produces a lean mixture with a constant lambda value of about 1.25 in all operating points of the internal-combustion engine. Using the lambda-correction device, additional quantities of fuel are introduced into the atomisation ring (11) of the rotor (7), altering the fuel/air ratio of the lean mixture and adjusting it in the operating points of the internal-combustion engine to the most favourable lambda values for fuel consumption, power and pollutant- free exhaust gases. The lambda-correction device comprises a controlled fuel injection pump (20), having an injection nozzle (39a) which is directed at the inner wall (13) of the atomisation ring (11) and from which approximately 50 mm<3> of fuel are ejected upon each pump stroke, and a control device (50) having a pulse transmitter (40) for driving the fuel injection pump (20) with current pulses of controlled pulse repetition frequency. The control of the pulse repetition frequency is effected with control signal transmitters (51, 52, 53, 54, 55) as a function of operating parameters of the internal-combustion engine, such as, in particular, the opening of the throttle valve (18) for the lambda correction during acceleration, the coolant temperature for the cold-start lambda correction etc.
