- At least one operating command can be transmitted from the household appliance operating unit 16 to the multimedia unit 22 by means of the communication unit 18 .
- an operating command could also be transmittable from the multimedia unit 22 to the household appliance operating unit 16 .

Display area 28 and further display area 34 can be changed by a swiping movement and/or a sliding movement of operating means 52 on display 26 , wherein a translational displacement of the display area 28 and of the further display area 34, in the present case in the x-direction, can be provided by means of the operating means 52.
- the display area 28 and the further display area 34 could also be moved on the display 26 analogously to a conventional drag & drop operation.
- the household appliance device 14 could also have additional operating elements for shifting the display area 28 and the further display area 34 in the x and/or y direction (not shown).
- FIG. 5 shows that the display area 28 can be reduced and at the same time the further display area 34 can be enlarged by means of the setting unit 40 .
- the operator moves operating means 52 along a first direction 62 to enlarge the wider display area 34 on display 26.
- FIG. 6 shows the reverse process, in which the operator moves operating means 52 along a second direction 64 to enlarge the display area 28 on the display 26 shifts.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 each make it clear that a change in the display area 28 and/or the additional display area 34 always causes a change in the additional display area 34 and/or the display area 28 at the same time.
- 7 shows a diagrammatically illustrated progression diagram of a method for operating the household appliance device 14. In a method step 100, for communication with at least the multimedia unit 22, at least the operating command is transmitted from the household appliance operating unit 16 in such a way that by means of the operating command the multimedia unit 22 is operated and/or controlled.
