  • the body 4 also includes a tool guide 42, surrounding the anvil 2 to position a nailer 5 (only the end of which is shown) relative to the anvil 2 in order to allow the nailer 5 (or a nail delivered by it) to strike, in use, the anvil 2.
  • the tool guide 42 comprises a positioning ring 43 which forms a recess 44 inside which the anvil 2 is located.
  • the body 4 also includes a pair of alignment edges 46a, 46b.
  • Each alignment edge 46a, 46b may be used to align the strip B along it, such that the elongated cutting edge 30 extends transversely across the strip B.
  • the alignment edges 46a, 46b define for example a rail extending perpendicular to the blade 3 or elongated cutting edge 30. In this example, the distance between the alignment edges 46a, 46b corresponds to the width of the strip B. Thus, the two edges d
  • the alignment 46a, 46b can be used simultaneously to align the strip cutter 1 with respect to the strip B.
  • the holes 70 which receive the pins 60 are located on either side of a distribution opening through which the strip B is distributed.
  • the alignment edges 46a, 46b are not necessary when the tape cutter 1 is pivotally mounted on the reel 7 in this manner. More particularly, the strip B distributed by the reel 7 is inevitably aligned with the alignment edges 46a, 46b. However, if the tape cutter 1 is removed from the reel 7, the alignment edges 46a, 46b can be used to ensure alignment between the tape cutter 1 and a tape B to be cut.
  • the shank of the second nail C will pass through the nail receiving portion 45a of the hole 45, through the strip B and into the surface S, while the head will strike the surrounding surface of the anvil 2. This impact will cause the elongated cutting edge 30 of the blade 3 to cut the strip B, thereby attaching the strip B to the surface S and cutting it simultaneously.
  • the strip cutter 1 can then be removed from the second nail C by maneuvering it to remove the head of the second nail C from the anvil 2 through the clearance part 45b of the hole 45.
  • notch 101 according to this example is similar to the notch 1 according to the first example, in which similar references represent similar characteristics which will not be described further in this document.
  • the tape cutter 101 differs from that of the first example in that the hole 45 and the pivot 6 are omitted and that it includes an elongated alignment tab 146 over part of the length of the body 104. More precisely , the tape cutter 101 is configured to be used independently, rather than being connected to a reel 7, and is not designed to simultaneously fix and cut the tape B.
  • the anvil 102 corresponds to the entire base or bottom of the recess 144, is on the upper side 40 and is configured to receive an impact force from either a nail C discharged from a nailer 105, or directly from a nail driver of the nailer 105.
  • the positioning ring 143 of the tool guide 142 includes two radial waste windows 143a and four projections 143b spaced equally around the periphery of the recess 144 and extending radially therein.
  • the projections 143b are configured to guide the end of the nailer 105 towards the anvil 102 in a vertical orientation, substantially perpendicular to the anvil 102.
  • the alignment tab 146 depends on the lower side 141 of the body 104 and describes a slot 147 between a lower major surface of the body 104 and the alignment tab 146.
  • the elongated free edge of the alignment tab 146 diverges from the body 104 to provide a bulged entry, while the elongated edge of the alignment tab 146 connected to the body 104 describes a base or bottom 146a of the slot 147, which also serves as an alignment edge or stop to align the edge of the strip B relative to the strip cutter 101.
  • the body 104 of the tape cutter 101 includes an insert 108 (shown more clearly on the Figure 7 ), which is made of steel in this example and which includes the components of the body 104 which are subjected to and transmit the impact force, namely the anvil 102, the tool guide 142 and the blade 103.
  • the insert 108 also includes a mounting arm 181 projecting from one side of the locating ring 143.
  • the mounting arm 181 includes mounting holes 182 through its thickness.
  • the mounting arm 181 of the steel insert 108 is secured within a slot 149a of the body 104, such that the mounting holes 182 are aligned with a pair of transverse holes 149b through the body 104. Screws (not shown) extend through the transverse holes 149b of the body 104 and through the mounting holes 182 of the mounting arm 181 to secure the insert 108 in the slot 149a of the body 104.
  • the strip B can be fixed at one end to the surface S using a first nail C pulled by the nailer 105, pulled onto a series of elongated elements, such as pipes P, fixed using a second nail C pulled by the nailer 105 to hold the pipes P in place. After being fixed, strip B is cut using strip cutter 101.
  • the alignment tab 146 of the strip cutter 101 is placed next to a portion of the strip B, which is then inserted into the slot 147 until its edge abuts against the base or bottom 146a of the slot 147, along which the strip B is aligned as illustrated in the Figure 9 .
  • the end of the nailer 105 is then inserted into the tool guide 142 and pulled, in order to provide an impact force to the anvil 102, thereby causing the strip B to be cut by the elongated cutting edge 130 of the blade 103.
  • the nailer 105 may include a blank firing mode, which may be selected by pressing the blank firing selection button 150. This prevents the nailer 105 from loading a nail C into the firing chamber.
  • the strip of nails 109 can be provided with a white nail CB between the nails C at regular intervals.
  • a white nail strip 109 is illustrated in Figure 10 , which includes a white nail CB at every third position, so as to allow the use of a nail C on each side of the pipes P and the use of the third white nail CB to cut the strip B.
