Abstract

975,581. Chisels; centre punches. C. I. JENKINSON & SON Ltd. May 17, 1963 [May 25, 1962], No. 20185/62. Headings B4B and B4X. A cold chisel or centre punch comprises a shank 10 of circular, octagonal or other cross-section tapered at its lower end to provide a blade 11 having a cutting edge 12 while the upper end of the tool is formed with an integral head consisting of a cylindrical part 13 and a dome 15. The maximum depth of the dome is greater than, equal to or less than the depth of the part 13. The head of the tool possesses a Vickers pyramid hardness number of from 300 to 450.
