Claims (16)

  1. A bread slicer comprising a cutter drivable along a cutting plane (17) to cut successive slices of a loaf of bread (16) which is moved across the cutting plane (17) in a direction of movement (11) in order to receive the slices on a bagging pallet (15) extending in a receiving position in a receiving compartment (6) of the slicer (1), said receiving compartment (6) extending adjacent the cutting plane (17) and having an access opening (8) for removing a sliced loaf, said opening (8) being closable by a cover (14) when slicing the bread into slices, wherein the bagging pallet (15) has a first end (18) remote from the cutting plane (17) and a second end (19) between said first end (18) and the cutting plane (17), said bagging pallet (15) being displaceable between said receiving position and a bagging position in which at least said first end (18) is elevated relative to the receiving position of the pallet (15), and the displacement of the pallet (15) defining a path (23) for the front end (20) of the sliced bread received by said pallet (15), this slicer being characterized in that the cover (14) has a bearing surface (22) for supporting the slices of the bread (16), in particular said front end (20) of the bread, during the movement of the bagging pallet (15) from the receiving position to the bagging position when the cover (14) is closed, this bearing surface (22) being movable together with the cover to release the access opening (8) when the cover (14) is open.
  2. Bread slicer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bearing surface (22) is arranged to extend at least along part of said path (23) described by the le front end of the cut loaf present on the bagging pallet (15) during movement of the bagging pallet (15) from the receiving position to the bagging position and when the cover (14) is closed.
  3. Bread slicer according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the level of the first end (18) of the bagging pallet (15) is lower than or equal to the level of the second end (19) thereof when the bagging pallet (15) is in the receiving position.
  4. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the level of the first end (18) of the bagging pallet (15) is higher than or equal to the level of the second end (19) thereof when the bagging pallet (15) is in the bagging position.
  5. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 4, in which the cover (14) comprises a support element (24) fixed to the side of the cover (14) facing the receiving compartment (6), this support element (24) presenting said bearing surface (22).
  6. Bread slicer according to claim 5, wherein the support element (24) is mounted so as to be movable relative to the cover (14) in order to be able to adapt to said trajectory (23) of the front end (20) of the loaf (16) as the bagging pallet (15) is progressively moved from its reception position to the bagging position in order to maintain contact between the bearing surface (22) and the cut loaf.
  7. Bread slicer according to claim 6, wherein the support element (24) is mounted so as to move towards said trajectory (23) of the front end (20) of the loaf, when the cover (14) is closed, as a result of the action of gravity on the support element (24) or as a result of the action of a resilient element provided for this purpose, such as a spring.
  8. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 5 to 7, wherein the support element (24) comprises one or more flexible tongues capable of elastically deforming following contact with the sliced bread by maintaining contact with the loaf of bread (16) during movement of the bagging pallet (15) from its receiving position to the bagging position.
  9. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the bagging pallet (15) is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis (25) coinciding with the second end (19) of the bagging pallet (15).
  10. Bread slicer according to claim 9, wherein said pivot axis (25) extends substantially parallel to the cutting plane (17).
  11. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 10, having a free space (27) below the bagging pallet (15) to enable a bag (28) to be slid over the assembly of cut bread (16) and bagging pallet (15) from said first end (18).
  12. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the bagging pallet (15) has an inclination between 0° and 60°, in particular between 0° and 30°, with respect to the horizontal along said direction of movement when it is in the receiving position.
  13. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the bagging pallet (15) has an inclination between 0° and 60°, in particular between 0° and 30°, relative to the horizontal along said direction of movement when it is in the bagging position.
  14. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 13, comprising a movable pusher (12) movable along said direction of movement (11) of the bread (16) to move the bread across the cutting plane (17), this pusher (12) forming a support for the end of the bread opposite the front end (20) when moving the pallet (15) with the sliced bread towards said bagging position.
  15. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 14, wherein said direction of movement (11) of the bread is substantially perpendicular to the cutting plane (17).
  16. Bread slicer according to any one of claims 1 to 15, comprising a stop element (21) for the front end (20) of the cut loaf, this stop element (21) extending opposite the first end (18) of the bagging pallet (15) when the latter is in the receiving position in order to prevent the slices from passing beyond this first end (18).
