Definitions
- the present invention relates to a seal for sliding doors and windows, in particular to a vertically extending seal for sliding doors and windows.
- U.S.A. 4,538,380 discloses a bead seal for doors and windows with a fir tree shaped seal foot for anchoring in a groove of the door or window frame and with a hollow profile head with a circular cross-section which is ellipsoidally compressed upon contact with the door or window sash.
- EP 3 388 608 A1 shows a sliding door with a seal whose profile head is divided into two chambers. Bending folds allow the profile head to be pressed together.
- the sliding door sealing system according to EP 3 489 448 A1 has a sealing profile and a functional profile which face each other and which are both provided with magnets.
- the elastic sealing profile has an elliptical shape and runs onto an inclined surface of the functional profile, as a result of which it is compressed.
- GB 2 352 262 A a glass seal that can also be used as a dynamic seal. It has a profile head with an indentation and two tips delimiting the indentation. The indentation is dented when the window is closed and divides the cavity defined by the profile head into two equally sized chambers.
- EP 2 265 790 B1 shows a glass seal that can be used to secure the window pane in the frame as well as a dynamic seal for a pivoting casement window.
- the sealing head is designed to be relatively angular and has an inwardly projecting support cam in the cavity. This serves as a stop when the sealing head is pressed together and thus divides the cavity of the seal into two chambers.
- Sliding door and window seals are subject to different forces than pivoting door or window sash seals.
- a predominantly lateral force is exerted on the seal of sliding doors and windows. The deformation of the seal is thus different.
- the seal should be usable in particular as a vertically running seal.
- the seal according to the invention for sealing a displaceable first part of a sliding door or sliding window in relation to a stationary second part of the sliding door or sliding window has a foot area for attachment to the first or second part of the sliding door or sliding window and an elastic head area for contacting the other Part of the first or second part.
- the head area has lateral legs and a profile web connecting the legs, with the lateral legs and the profile web surrounding a cavity.
- the web forms an approximately flat surface Sealing and / or sliding surface.
- At least part of the legs divides the cavity into two chambers that are essentially separate from one another in this pressurized, intended state, with this part of the legs forming the subdivision of the cavity.
- the seal seals laterally and is exposed to a lateral force when the door is closed, it forms a sliding surface which preferably also acts as a sealing surface. If the seal seals at the front and is subjected to a force parallel to the sliding direction of the door leaf when the door is closed, it forms a sealing surface.
- Two adjacent legs preferably form a separating web. Both pairs of legs are preferably designed to form separating webs.
- a seal according to the invention that is subjected to lateral forces, preferably exactly two chambers are formed, with a first pair of legs forming a separating web.
- Exactly three chambers are preferably formed in the same seal when it is only subjected to a force parallel to the displacement direction of the sliding door leaf, with the first pair of legs and a second pair of legs each forming a separating web.
- the same type of seal can be arranged on the side between the sliding door leaf and the fixed part of the sliding door, as well as on the front side. If only one separating web is formed, this preferably runs approximately perpendicularly to a profile back of the seal. If two separating webs are formed, they preferably run at an angle to a profile back of the seal. Their free ends are preferably inclined towards one another.
- sliding door sliding door
- door leaf sliding door leaf
- sliding door leaf sliding door leaf
- door frame and the like are used below. In this text, these terms are intended to include the respective components of sliding windows.
- abbreviated notation is chosen for better legibility and is not intended to limit the invention be understood on sliding doors.
- the seal according to the invention forms an approximately flat sealing and/or sliding surface thanks to the pressure acting on it. This sealing and/or sliding surface enables the door leaf to be moved smoothly.
- the seal does not act as a brake.
- two almost separate chambers have better sound insulation. They also provide better protection against drafts and also increase thermal insulation.
- the two chambers are only formed when the sliding door is closed and are not already present in the unloaded state of the seal, they do not stiffen the seal and the head area of the seal can be designed to be optimally flexible in order to enable improved sliding ability. As this makes the seal less rigid than seals with permanently integrated partitions, it is also more robust and less susceptible to wear.
- the legs form the partition. I.e. there are preferably no ribs or legs which additionally project into the cavity and which do not at the same time form the outer walls of the cavity.
- the pressurized intended state can be reached by displacing the first part relative to the second part, so that no further aids are necessary for this.
- a correspondingly shaped counterpart on the stationary part of the door frame is unnecessary.
- the approximately planar sealing and/or sliding surface can preferably be reached shortly after the profile web has made initial contact with the sliding door. This ensures that the first time the moving door leaf comes into contact with the door frame, the door leaf can be closed without increased frictional resistance.
- the sealing and/or sliding surface preferably increases in the course of the further displacement of the door and ensures a displacement that is as friction-free as possible during the entire movement.
- each pair of legs There are preferably at least two lateral legs on each side of the profile web arranged to form a pair of legs.
- the legs of each pair of legs are preferably connected to one another via a kink.
- Exactly two lateral legs are preferably arranged on each side of the profile web. These limbs allow the head area, in particular the profile web, to be bent and folded over in a targeted manner when the sliding door leaf is moved along the door frame. They make it possible to achieve the almost flat sealing and/or sliding surface and the subdivision of the chamber. They are a preferred solution, but not necessarily the only way to achieve the desired shape.
- the side legs are straight. This makes it easier to achieve the desired shape of the seal in the sealing position in a targeted manner.
- the legs are designed to be stiffer than the profile web, in other embodiments they are designed to be equally flexible or equally stiff.
- two legs each form an angle with an angle point on one side of the profile web, with the angle point protruding into the cavity.
- the profile web can expand optimally to form the sealing and/or sliding surface.
- the apex of the angle preferably has a kink, which makes it easier for the two legs forming the angle to approach each other. This facilitates the deformation of the gasket to achieve the sealed shape.
- the profile web has different shapes. Preferably, it is bent outwards. Even more preferably, it is approximately part-circular and even more preferably approximately semi-circular. This partial or semi-circular configuration leads to an optimal, approximately flat sealing and/or sliding surface.
- the legs extend into the cavity. They preferably do not protrude or do not protrude significantly beyond an outer contour of the profile web. This also optimizes the size of the sealing and/or sliding surface and allows the sealing and/or sliding surface to be formed immediately as soon as the movable door leaf reaches the door frame.
- a crease Preferably, between the profile web and the legs formed on the profile web there is a crease. Kinks allow the sealing profile to be bent or folded over in a targeted manner and the desired shape to be achieved quickly and with minimal force in the sealed state.
- the foot area has a profile back which, together with the head area, encloses the cavity.
- a part of the lateral legs is preferably formed on each side of the profile back.
- the back of the profile gives the seal stability in any state of its deformation, i.e. during closing and opening of the sliding door.
- a kink is preferably present between the profile back and the leg formed on the profile back, which flexure facilitates a movement of the leg towards the profile back and/or away from the profile back.
- These kinks in the two molded legs also allow the desired shape to be achieved quickly and with minimal force in the sealed state.
- the head area is preferably mirror-symmetrical. As a result, the deformation of the seal is not dependent on the direction in which the sliding door leaf is moved.
- the back of the profile can be attached directly to a surface of the sliding door, in particular glued or screwed on.
- a profile foot is formed on the back of the profile for anchoring the seal in a receptacle of the sliding door or the sliding window.
- the seal is preferably designed in one piece as a whole. It is preferably made of silicone. It is preferably designed as an extruded profile.
- the seal preferably forms a bellows seal, also known as a bellows seal, or a frame seal. It can be placed on all sides of the door, on the movable and on the fixed parts. However, it preferably serves as a vertical seal, preferably being arranged in the door leaf of the sliding door leaf and projecting perpendicularly to the door leaf or preferably being arranged in the adjacent surface of the stationary door frame and projecting perpendicularly to the door leaf.
- FIG 1 a first exemplary embodiment of the seal 1 according to the invention is shown. It is a vertically running bellows seal in the form of an extruded profile. figure 1 shows only a short section of the seal 1. It preferably has a constant cross-section over its entire length, which is not fully shown here.
- the seal 1 is formed in one piece. It is preferably made of silicone. It has a header A and a footer B.
- the foot area B has a profile back 14, which is preferably formed by an approximately straight plate.
- An anti-elongation thread 13 is preferably introduced into the profile base 12 and preferably extends over the entire length of the sealing profile 1 .
- At least the underside of the profile back 14 facing the profile foot 11 is flat in this example.
- a first leg 15 is formed on each of the two upper longitudinal edges of the profile back 14 .
- the two first legs 15 are part of the head area A.
- the transition from the profile back 14 to the first leg 15 is tapered in each case.
- This taper forms a first joint or a first kink 17.
- the two first legs 15 are preferably formed in a straight line and preferably have the same length. They are inclined towards each other, so they protrude inwards.
- the angles between the profile back 14 and the first legs 15 are preferably of equal size. They are preferably approximately 45° or less than 45°.
- a second leg 16 is formed on the other end of the two first legs 15 via a second joint or via a second kink point 18 .
- the second legs 16 are preferably of the same thickness and preferably of the same length. They are preferably also of the same thickness as the first legs 15 . However, they are preferably shorter than the first legs 15. They preferably run approximately parallel to the profile back 14 or only enclose a small angle thereto. They lead to the outside.
- the distance between the two outer ends of the second legs 16 is preferably approximately the same length as the width of the profile back 14, so that preferably none of these elements protrudes significantly laterally from the other.
- a profile web 10 is formed on the other end of the two second legs 16 via a third joint or via a third kink 19 .
- the profile web 10 connects the two ends of the two second legs 16 to one another.
- the profile web 10 is preferably formed in an arc shape, being bent outwards. It is preferably approximately part-circular, preferably approximately semi-circular.
- the profile web 10 and the lateral legs 16, 15 surround a cavity that collectively encompassed by these elements and by the profile back 14 and thus defined by them. All of these elements together form the outer wall of the cavity. Apart from the lateral legs 15, 16 mentioned, no other elements preferably protrude into the cavity.
- a seal 1 is shown, which according to a variant of the seal 1 figure 1 is.
- the profile back 14 is formed by two flat surfaces which are arranged at an angle to one another. The profile back 14 thus does not lie flat on the surface of the sliding door, but is pressed onto this surface when the sliding door is closed. This increases the sealing effect.
- the rib-shaped profile base 12 according to figure 1 is preferably replaced by a thickening 140 in the profile back 14.
- the anti-elongation thread 13, if present, is arranged in this thickening 140.
- the other elements of the seal 1 are of the same design as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG figure 1 and are therefore not explained here.
- FIG. 3 to 9 an installation situation of the seal is shown in the form of a vertical seal when the sliding door runs in front of a wall.
- the seal 1 is preferably arranged on the door leaf of the displaceable sliding door leaf 2 .
- the sliding door leaf 2 has a vertically running receiving groove 20 into which the profile foot 11 of the seal 1 is inserted.
- the profile back 14 rests on the door leaf and the profile web 10 is perpendicular to the door leaf. this is in figure 3 good to see.
- the door leaf 2 is about to make contact with the door frame 3. It can be seen that the gap S between the door frame 3 and the door leaf 2 is optimally the same size or the distance a from the profile web 10 to the profile back 14 is preferably greater.
- the front leg 15, which is closer to the door frame 3 and is therefore acted upon first by force, is bent towards the profile back 14. It is preferably already on it.
- the angle between the first leg 15 and the second leg 16 has increased.
- the angle is now preferably approximately 90°.
- the profile web 10 is to the rear, away from the door frame 3, dodged and assumes an elongated shape.
- the first leg 15, which is remote from the door frame 3 and is therefore at the rear, and the second leg 16, which is also remote and therefore at the rear, are pressed together. They preferably lie flat against one another.
- the outer surface of the profile web 10 forms an approximately planar sliding surface 8 in the contact area with the door frame, which also acts as a sealing surface 8 .
- the profile web 10 nestles against the door frame 3 .
- FIG 8 the closed state of the sliding door is reached.
- the door leaf 2 is in its end position.
- the profile web 10 is pressed essentially flat and preferably has an elliptical shape.
- the front legs 15, 16 preferably form approximately a right angle, with the front first leg 15 running approximately parallel to the profile back 14 and thus approximately parallel to the surface of the sliding door leaf 2.
- the two rear legs 15, 16 rest on one another and are preferably approximately perpendicular to the profile back 14 and thus the surface of the sliding door leaf 2. They protrude into the cavity of the head area A and divide it into two chambers 5, 6. They form a separating web 7.
- An enlarged representation of the curved seal is shown in figure 9 shown.
- the sliding door When the sliding door is optimally adjusted, i.e. when the gap S approximately corresponds to the height of the seal bent in this way, the legs 15, 16 lying on top of each other divide the cavity completely into these two chambers 5, 6.
- the separating web 7 extends from the profile back 14 to the inside of the curved profile bar 10.
- the sealing and/or sliding surface 8 formed by the curved profile web 10 has a maximum length and preferably lies flat and preferably over the entire length of the sealing and/or sliding surface 8 in a sealing manner on the surface of the door frame 3 .
- FIGs 10 to 15 an installation situation of the sliding door in the wall, for example in a wall box or a cassette, is shown.
- the sliding door has, as in figure 10 is shown, a door frame 3 with a receiving pocket 30 is pushed into the sliding door panel 2 to close the sliding door.
- the receiving pocket 30 of the door frame 3 is in figure 11 good to see.
- the vertically running seals 1 according to the invention are preferably not located on the movable door leaf 2, but in the stationary parts 3, 4. In this example, too, they are preferably arranged in grooves 300 of the stationary parts 3, 4, with the head area A the surface of the stationary parts 3, 4 protrudes.
- the seal 1 deforms in the same way, regardless of whether it is arranged in the sliding or in the fixed part of the sliding door. That point of the seal 1 which is first subjected to a force is first deformed into an approximately planar sealing and/or sliding surface 8, with the force being removed from the first leg 15 and the associated second leg 16 approaching one another in order to later Partition 7 to form. Ie the front area of the sealing profile forms the beginning of the sealing and/or sliding surface 8, the rear area the partition wall 7.
- a second embodiment of the seal 1' according to the invention is shown. It is of essentially the same design as the seal 1 according to FIG figure 1 . It also has a profile back 14 that forms a planar lower surface. Instead of the profile base 12 according to figure 1 the thickening 140 with the anti-stretching thread 13 preferably running in the thickening 140 is present. Alternatively, it can also be designed with the profile base 12.
- the profile base 11' has the same Shore hardness as the rest of the sealing profile. In other embodiments it is stiffer. For example, it is made from a material with a different Shore hardness and is subsequently connected to the rest of the sealing profile or is co-extruded with it.
- the adhesive layer 110 can also be applied directly to the profile back 14, i.e. without its own profile foot 11'. In other embodiments, the adhesive layer 110 and/or the profile foot 11′ are designed as separate components from the one-piece sealing profile.
- the seal according to the invention is arranged on an end face of a sliding door leaf 2 .
- the sliding door leaf 2 preferably slides into a receiving pocket 30 of a door frame 3. In other embodiments, it rests on a flat surface of the door frame 3 or it rests on a surface of another door leaf.
- the seal is preferably in the stationary part 3, preferably in a receiving groove 300 of the door frame 3, is arranged. Alternatively, the seal is arranged on the displaceable sliding door leaf 2 .
- the seal is designed identically to that shown and described in the above figures. However, since there are no lateral forces acting on the seal, but rather it is pressed together when the door leaf 2 is closed by means of a force acting parallel to the direction of displacement, it deforms differently than described above.
- Both pairs of legs 15, 16 each form a separating web 7, so that two outer, second chambers 6 and a middle, first chamber 5 are formed.
- the middle chamber 5 is preferably larger than the two outer second chambers 6.
- the two outer second chambers 6 are preferably approximately the same size.
- the surface resulting from the buckling or bending of the seal forms a planar sealing surface 8 which lies tightly against the opposite surface, here the end face of the sliding door leaf.
- the two separating webs 7 preferably run at an angle to the profile back 14.
- the two free ends of the two separating webs 7 are preferably inclined towards one another.
- the seal according to the invention has a simple shape that can be produced inexpensively and forms a robust seal. It enables smooth sliding of the sliding door and an optimal seal when the sliding door is closed.

Sliding door and window seals, particularly vertical seals, are subject to different forces than pivoting door or window sash seals. In particular, a predominantly lateral force is exerted on the seal of sliding doors and windows. The deformation of the seal is thus different.
It is therefore an object of the invention to create a seal for sliding doors and windows that ensures an optimal sealing effect and still allows the door or window sash to be moved as smoothly as possible. The seal should be usable in particular as a vertically running seal.

Thanks to the simultaneous formation of two almost completely separate chambers when the sliding door is closed, the sealing effect is increased. In particular, two almost separate chambers have better sound insulation. They also provide better protection against drafts and also increase thermal insulation.
However, since the two chambers are only formed when the sliding door is closed and are not already present in the unloaded state of the seal, they do not stiffen the seal and the head area of the seal can be designed to be optimally flexible in order to enable improved sliding ability. As this makes the seal less rigid than seals with permanently integrated partitions, it is also more robust and less susceptible to wear.
Preferably only the legs form the partition. I.e. there are preferably no ribs or legs which additionally project into the cavity and which do not at the same time form the outer walls of the cavity.
If the approximately flat sealing and/or sliding surface also remains in the closed state of the sliding door, it increases the sealing effect even more since it forms a relatively large sealing surface.
Preferably, the pressurized intended state can be reached by displacing the first part relative to the second part, so that no further aids are necessary for this. For example, a correspondingly shaped counterpart on the stationary part of the door frame is unnecessary. The approximately planar sealing and/or sliding surface can preferably be reached shortly after the profile web has made initial contact with the sliding door. This ensures that the first time the moving door leaf comes into contact with the door frame, the door leaf can be closed without increased frictional resistance. In addition, the sealing and/or sliding surface preferably increases in the course of the further displacement of the door and ensures a displacement that is as friction-free as possible during the entire movement.
If the approximately flat sealing and/or sliding surface is retained when the sliding door is closed, it is also ensured that optimal conditions for smooth sliding are present from the start, even when the door is opened.
There are preferably at least two lateral legs on each side of the profile web arranged to form a pair of legs. The legs of each pair of legs are preferably connected to one another via a kink.
Exactly two lateral legs are preferably arranged on each side of the profile web.
Preferably, the side legs are straight. This makes it easier to achieve the desired shape of the seal in the sealing position in a targeted manner. In some embodiments, the legs are designed to be stiffer than the profile web, in other embodiments they are designed to be equally flexible or equally stiff.
Preferably, two legs each form an angle with an angle point on one side of the profile web, with the angle point protruding into the cavity. As a result, the profile web can expand optimally to form the sealing and/or sliding surface.
The apex of the angle preferably has a kink, which makes it easier for the two legs forming the angle to approach each other. This facilitates the deformation of the gasket to achieve the sealed shape.
Depending on the embodiment, the profile web has different shapes. Preferably, it is bent outwards. Even more preferably, it is approximately part-circular and even more preferably approximately semi-circular. This partial or semi-circular configuration leads to an optimal, approximately flat sealing and/or sliding surface.
In preferred embodiments, the legs extend into the cavity. They preferably do not protrude or do not protrude significantly beyond an outer contour of the profile web. This also optimizes the size of the sealing and/or sliding surface and allows the sealing and/or sliding surface to be formed immediately as soon as the movable door leaf reaches the door frame.
Preferably, between the profile web and the legs formed on the profile web there is a crease. Kinks allow the sealing profile to be bent or folded over in a targeted manner and the desired shape to be achieved quickly and with minimal force in the sealed state.
In preferred embodiments, the foot area has a profile back which, together with the head area, encloses the cavity. A part of the lateral legs is preferably formed on each side of the profile back. The back of the profile gives the seal stability in any state of its deformation, i.e. during closing and opening of the sliding door.
A kink is preferably present between the profile back and the leg formed on the profile back, which flexure facilitates a movement of the leg towards the profile back and/or away from the profile back. These kinks in the two molded legs also allow the desired shape to be achieved quickly and with minimal force in the sealed state.
The head area is preferably mirror-symmetrical. As a result, the deformation of the seal is not dependent on the direction in which the sliding door leaf is moved.
The back of the profile can be attached directly to a surface of the sliding door, in particular glued or screwed on. In other embodiments, a profile foot is formed on the back of the profile for anchoring the seal in a receptacle of the sliding door or the sliding window.
Vorzugsweise ist die Dichtung gesamthaft einstückig ausgebildet. Sie ist vorzugsweise aus Silikon gefertigt. Vorzugsweise ist sie als Strangprofil ausgebildet. The seal is preferably designed in one piece as a whole. It is preferably made of silicone. It is preferably designed as an extruded profile.
The seal preferably forms a bellows seal, also known as a bellows seal, or a frame seal.
Further embodiments are specified in the dependent claims.
