the housing (22) has an L-shaped cross-section over almost its entire length. - A method for manual and motorized approaching of a casement (4) of a window or a door (3) by means of a stay mechanism (1) according to claims 1 to 13, with a locking device (2) provided at the casement (4) and a base part (6) fixed to the frame (5), on which base part a power transmission means (8) operated by means of a motorized driving device (7) is mounted, having a connecting link (9) to the casement (4), wherein the connecting link (9) is a drive-rod connecting element (10), wherein the locking device (2) can be locked and unlocked by means of the motorized driving device (7), wherein the drive-rod connecting element (10) is arranged at the free end (11) of the power transmission means (8) and consists of a driver (12) arranged at the power transmission means (8) and of a hook (13), which can be coupled with a locking pin (15) arranged at the locking device (2),wherein the casement (4) can be transferred from the closed position into an open tilted position of the casement (4) by motorized operation of the stay mechanism (1) and driving of a locking device (2) arranged at the casement (4); wherein the casement (4) can be transferred from the locked closed position into a turning position for manual operation into the rotational open position of the casement (4) by motorized operation of the stay mechanism (1) and driving of the locking device (2) arranged at the casement (4);wherein the casement (4) can be transferred into the locked closed position from the open tilted position or in the turning position by motorized operation of the stay mechanism (1).
