Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sealing arrangement for sealing a horizontally running section of a variable door leaf on the floor against a lower support surface on the building side against water and/or drafts penetrating from outside the door leaf.
  • the invention also relates to a method for sealing the underside of a door leaf against water and/or drafts penetrating.
  • a sectional door with a sectional door leaf with a door integrated into it has become known.
  • An edge of a lower panel facing the floor of the building is equipped with an end profile, which is provided with a replaceable seal on the outside of the building, which is equipped with a floor lip resting on the floor.
  • the lower end of the door leaf is formed by a connecting profile, which is provided with a floor seal on the underside.
  • This floor seal is embedded centrally via a sealing foot within the end element.
  • the floor seal is equipped with a side lip facing the floor, starting from its one-sided attachment.
  • the EN 10 2004 014 182 A1 A gate with a door element integrated into a gate leaf has become known, whereby the gate leaf and the door element consist of individual elements connected to one another by means of a pivot joint.
  • the gate leaf is guided in lateral guide rails so that it can be moved, whereby the lower gate element is provided with a closing element on the floor via an intermediate element, which extends over the entire width of the door leaf.
  • a lip seal is connected to the bottom of the closing element via a central fastening point.
  • a sealing element that has a curved and closed shape and is provided with fastening points at each end that engage in a hollow profile provides the US 5,857,510 A again.
  • a threshold design for a weather deflector comprises a base portion for attachment to the threshold below the bottom edge of a door and a cover portion mounted on the base portion and an upper surface.
  • One or more sealing elements are mounted along the lower edge of the door for engagement.
  • Vertical adjustment of the cover portion relative to the base portion is provided to allow adjustment of a distance between the upper surface and the lower edge of the door.
  • Another threshold for a passage shows the GB2341631A .
  • This comprises a first part which is designed to be attached to the floor surface above the passage and a second part which is designed to be attached to the underside of the door 16.
  • One of the parts has a support rail and the other part a brush strip which rests against this support rail.
  • a door with a door element integrated into the door leaf has a closing element over the entire width of the door leaf, which extends beyond the width of the door element and is additionally connected to an insert element that has a higher strength than the closing element, gives the EN 10 2016 117 407 A1 again.
  • Movable door leaves particularly in a design as sectional door leaves, which essentially consist of individual panels connected to one another by hinges and are guided in side elements, are nowadays manufactured with increasingly larger opening widths of the door leaves.
  • a permanent and practical seal between a lower end element and a building-side contact surface of the floor is not always achieved. This is not only due to the inherent rigidity of the door leaves, but also to a contact surface that is not flat and not without elevations across the entire opening width. A building-side contact surface can also be contaminated.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to permanently remedy the deficiency of inadequate sealing against the ingress of water and draughts.
  • a combination of a substantially horizontally aligned first sealing element and a second sealing element cooperating therewith, which runs substantially horizontally and is simultaneously aligned vertically, is provided.
  • the second sealing element is in contact with a side section of the first sealing element in sections via a contact area for sealing interaction.
  • the second sealing element arranged on the outer lower end, as a continuation of a panel element or other door parts, has a side leg which has an end support on the contact surface in the direction of the building-side contact surface with a contact area bent inwards towards the building.
  • a side section of the first sealing element rests against this contact area on the inside of the second sealing element. If the door leaf is now brought into its closed position, the contact surface of the second sealing element comes into contact with the contact surface first and thereby necessarily carries out a twist directed towards the building. This twist inevitably leads to the side leg of the first sealing element resting on the contact area on the inside of the second sealing element, at least in its end section, and also maintaining this contact.
  • the first sealing element also comes into contact with the contact surface, namely first through a contact foot.
  • the first sealing element is designed symmetrically on both sides, starting from the contact foot. Starting from the contact foot, the first sealing element is designed in the direction of laterally tapering cross sections up to bend areas and then again thickening cross sections up to intermediate areas on each side.
  • the protruding side sections are formed on each side onto the two intermediate areas, with fastening sections also being present at the intermediate areas. These fastening sections are essentially partially round and engage in separate, spaced-apart connection channels of a bottom-side closing element that extends across the entire width of the door leaf.
  • the first sealing element is therefore not fastened via a fastening area within the closing element, as is the case with the state of the art.
  • EN 10 2010 000 252 B4 The advantage of this design of the The advantage of the first sealing element is that it is not a bead or individual lips that rest on the contact surface, but that a sufficient seal against the building is achieved, which includes several ground contact areas, namely the contact surface of the second sealing element, the contact foot and the two side sections of the first sealing element.
  • the contact of the floor-side contact surface of the building can be uneven due to contamination in the form of stones or the like, and the surface of the contact surface itself can also be made.
  • the present sealing arrangement achieves a lasting, effective seal against water and drafts entering from outside the building.
  • the sealing arrangement can also be used to structurally change the design of the closing element on the door leaf side in the direction of the contact surface.
  • the structural change essentially consists in the closing element having a projection on the inside of the building that is very small in width and is dimensioned in height in such a way that when the first sealing element rests with its sections on the contact surface, the projection does not necessarily have to come into contact with the contact surface.
  • This design ensures that when the door leaf is in the closed position, only the sealing material of the first and second sealing elements come into contact with the contact surface on the building side.
  • the design of the sealing arrangement ensures that even if the contact surface is uneven, there is always effective sealing against water penetrating from outside the building. The lack of contact of the end element in the closed position of the door leaf contributes to this in particular. Door leaves of this type are guided laterally.
  • such elastically deformable sealing elements can be produced cost-effectively by the meter.
  • a connecting element 2 which in turn is connected to a closing element 1 via a fastening element 12.
  • the inventive concept also includes fastenings to sections or parts of the door leaf.
  • the representation of the Figure 1 can be seen in such a way that on the left side there is the part of the lower door leaf that lies inside a building and on the right side there is the outer end of the door leaf to the building.
  • a fastening section 6 of a second sealing element 5 is fastened in an undercut receptacle. Outside the fastening section 6, the second sealing element 5 has a self-contained chamber 8 that protrudes into the connecting element 2 for stability purposes.
  • the outer end is formed by a substantially straight section of the second sealing element 5 in the form of a side leg 7.
  • a substantially straight section of the second sealing element 5 in the form of a side leg 7.
  • This shape of the second sealing element 5 makes it clear that when contact is made between the contact surface 9 and the contact surface 4, a further Inward rotation of the inwardly bent end of the second sealing element 5 occurs.
  • a first sealing element 3 cooperates with the second sealing element 5.
  • the structure of the first sealing element 3 is symmetrical on both sides, starting from a substantially centrally formed, protruding support foot 14, as is the case with the Figure 3 can be removed.
  • On both sides of the support foot 14 there are connecting sections 25 which preferably taper in their cross-sections up to bending points 23.
  • the bending points 23 ensure that when the support foot 14 is placed on the contact surface 4 of the building there is a change in the initial shape of the first sealing element 3.
  • transition regions 26 adjoining the intermediate regions 24 which are followed by essentially straight deflection sections 22 in the basic form which merge at the end into fastening sections 17.
  • the fastening sections 17 are essentially round or spherical in shape in order to be introduced into the end element 1 in its longitudinal extension in connection channels 15 with securing lugs 19.
  • courses 20 and 18 are formed in the end element 1, tapering to a lower side 16 of the end element 1.
  • the courses 18, 20 are designed differently in their shapes.
  • Course 20 has a greater steepness, starting from the connecting channel 15, to the lower side 16.
  • Course 18 on the opposite side, ie towards the interior of the building, has a lower steepness and is therefore flatter.
  • This different design of the courses 18 and 20 is justified by the fact that in case of a deformation of the first sealing element 3 on the right side of the Figure 1 the alternative section 22 comes into contact with the course 20 earlier than the course 18 on the inside of the building.
  • the steeper design of the course 20 ensures in any case that the side section 13, which meets the second sealing element 5, is placed against the inside of the sealing element 5 in such a way that a secure sealing closure is provided against the contact surface 4. This is necessary because the water that is trying to penetrate into the building must be kept out on the outside 31.
  • two further sealing barriers are provided by the support foot 14 with the connecting sections 25 connected to it and also the side section 31 on the left-hand side.
  • This sealing arrangement ensures that in normal operation, when the door leaf is in the closed position, a projection 10 on the underside of the closing element 1 has no contact with the contact surface 4. This means that even if the contact surface 4 is uneven, this construction always provides a secure seal against water and drafts entering the building from outside by the shape-changing sealing elements 3 and 5.
  • the projection 10 can therefore also be seen as a safety projection.
  • the bevel 11 on the inside of the closing element 1 ensures that there are no tripping hazards.
  • the connecting element 2 is designed in such a way that it engages in a groove 28 in the inner area of the closing element 1 and includes a contact surface 27 to the outer area of the closing element 1. So that the change in shape of the second sealing element 5 does not inadvertently In order to avoid the door leaf moving into the closed position, there is a substantially straight limit 21 on the right-hand side of the closing element 1 and a contact surface 27 on the connecting element 2.
