Definitions
- Shading systems for window or door openings have long been known in practice in a wide variety of designs.
- the control of the extending blinds is preferably done electrically, with the drives, cabling, etc. running inside the box elements used.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of designing and constructing the device for shading corner window or door openings mentioned at the outset and described in more detail above in such a way that an improvement in the influence of wind load, freedom from glare, individual control for each direction and also simplified processing and assembly can be achieved.
- the invention has recognized that dividing the known rigid corner connector into two individual connecting elements brings with it a number of advantages.
- the connecting elements according to the invention each consist of a machined extruded profile with one or more axially extending rotary centering connection point(s).
- the end strips can be cut at the angle of the corner window, but preferably as a straight cut (90°).
- the end strips are designed as hollow profiles and the connecting elements are arranged essentially in the hollow profiles so that they essentially close the end openings of the hollow profiles.
- the connecting elements used can be optimally adapted to the geometric conditions of the end strips.
- each connecting element has a mitred end piece that protrudes beyond the end of the end strips.
- the connecting elements preferably have corresponding coupling elements, whereby the coupling elements are connected to one another via a coupling element.
- the miter angle of the mitred end pieces is 45° for a 90° corner window construction. This design is the most common for all right-angled windows of newer design. Corner window constructions with other angles can be realized accordingly with a "halved" miter angle of the end pieces to be used. Even with corner windows in old buildings where the angle is not exactly 90°, the miter angle of the end pieces to be used can be adapted to the respective application. Smaller tolerances can usually be achieved without Custom-made products can be compensated for by the elasticity of the plastics used in the end pieces.
- a connecting pin is provided as a coupling element.
- a safe, reliable but detachable positive connection between the two connecting elements can be achieved with little effort.
- Such a pin can be easily inserted during initial assembly and can also be easily removed again at any time if necessary for cleaning or maintenance purposes.
- a guide means for the coupling elements as a coupling element.
- Tensioned wires or a guide rod can be used as guide means, for example.
- the two free edges of the curtains arranged at a corner can be connected to one another via a common zipper when extended.
- a common zipper When extended.
- a further preferred teaching of the invention provides that the two corresponding connecting elements are designed identically. This design has the advantage that there is only one type of connecting element per hollow chamber profile, which significantly simplifies the storage, assembly and maintenance of the shading devices equipped with them.
- each connecting element is designed as a cover cap that can be detachably connected to the respective end strip and that each cover cap has a protruding web at the end of which a guide element with an inner through-opening serving as a vertical centering axis is provided.
- the guide elements are preferably designed to be of different sizes and the larger guide element has a vertical slot for passing the web of the smaller guide element, so that both guide elements can be moved vertically relative to one another without hindering one another.
- the slot is expediently designed in such a way that it is widened at its ends to ensure that the passing web of the other cover cap can be safely inserted.
- the two connecting elements designed as cover caps are not firmly connected to one another, but rather they ensure the vertical guidance of the end strips in the area of the corner of the window or door.
- the larger guide element has a hollow cylindrical shape.
- the larger guide element also has a double-conical inner surface, which has the smallest inner diameter in its center.
- the smaller guide element has a cylindrical inner opening for receiving a guide means.
- the outer shape of the smaller guide element is also double-conical and has the largest outer diameter in its center in order to center both elements when passing the larger guide element. The respective designs as a double cone ensure that a clean "threading" can be achieved in a simple manner when the two guide elements approach each other vertically.
- a guide rod preferably made of stainless steel, serves as the guide means.
- a guide wire as a guide means, which is preferably designed as a tensioned rope.
- the end pieces or cover caps are made of an elastic and UV-resistant plastic. In this way, small angular deviations can be easily compensated for by the connecting elements or cover caps used.
- FIG.1 A known device for shading corner window openings is shown in a schematic representation. Shown is a corner window 1 with a surrounding frame 2, but without glazing. For the external shading systems, it makes no difference whether it is a frameless corner window or whether a vertical support profile 3 is arranged in the corner area, as shown.
- the shading device consists first and foremost of two mitred box elements 4 arranged outside the upper frame 2, in each of which a curtain 5 is wound. Below the curtains 5, two end strips 6 can be seen, of which the end facing away from the corner is guided in the area of the frame 2 by a guide rail 7, and the end strips are connected in the corner area of the device by a (in Fig.1
- the exact arrangement of the box elements 4 and end strips 6 in the angle area depends on the respective local conditions. For the sake of simplicity, Fig.1 a corner window forming a right angle.
- Fig.2 shows the components necessary for understanding the present invention. It can be seen that at the lower ends of the curtains 5 there is a fastening loop with a piping 8, which is arranged in a recess of the respective end strip 6. Two connecting elements that can be connected to one another serve as angle connectors between the end strips 6, which are in the Figure 3 and the Figures 4A and 4B be described in more detail.
- the end strips 6 are designed as hollow profiles and have an expanding cavity 9 for receiving the fastening loop with piping 8 and a slot 10 for the passage of the curtain 5.
- the connecting elements 11A and 11B are essentially arranged in the hollow profiles, the end openings of which are essentially closed by the connecting elements 11A and 11B when installed.
- the basic structure of the connecting elements 11A and 11B can be clearly seen. These indicate their facing sides each have a mitred end piece 12A or 12B, to which an insert part 13A or 13B is connected in one piece.
- the end surfaces of the end pieces 12A and 12B are designed with a mitre angle of 45°, so that when assembled they complement each other to form a right-angled corner construction.
- each insertion part 13A, 13B has two vertical grooves 14.
- the grooves 14 serve to fasten the inserted insertion parts 13A and 13B by creating a connection between the end strip 6 and the insertion parts 13A, 13B using a nail N.
- the nail N is inserted from above through a hole (not specified in more detail) in the end strip 6 into the groove 14. In this way, a positive connection between the end strips 6 and the inserted insertion parts 13A and 13B is achieved with little effort.
- Both vertical side surfaces of the plug-in parts 13A and 13B each have a plurality of clamping areas 15 on their surfaces that come into contact with the end strip 6 when plugged in, which ensure that the plug-in part 13A or 13B inserted into the end strip 6 remains securely in its position during assembly due to the frictional connection achieved.
- Fig.3 further shows that both end pieces 12A and 12B each have a coupling element 16A and 16B, each with a cylindrical through-opening, which are vertically offset from one another and correspond to one another.
- a connecting pin 17 By inserting a connecting pin 17 into the coupling elements 16B and 16A, which are arranged one above the other in the installed state, a reliable positive connection is achieved between the end pieces 12A and 12B and thus the end strips 6 to be connected. So that the connecting pin 17 remains in its inserted position, it has a widened head 18 on its upper side.
- the Fig. 4A and 4B show in a further enlarged perspective view the two connecting elements 11A and 11B in another perspective view with the contact surfaces of the end pieces 12A and 12B inclined towards the viewer.
- each end piece 12A, 12B has recesses 19 and 20 on its upper side in the extension of the channel 9 of the end strip 6, which ensure that the two fastening loops with piping 8 protruding from the end strips 6, and thus also the curtains 5 themselves, can be brought as close to each other as possible in order to minimize the width of the slot created between the curtains 5 as much as possible.
- the Fig. 4A and 4B further show the exact arrangement of the coupling elements 16A and 16B, whereby it is clear that the coupling element 16B does not reach up to the upper edge of the end piece 12B, but only up to the lower edge of the recess 20.
- Fig.5 shows a modification of the first embodiment, in which the Fig. 2 to 4B
- the construction explained above has been slightly modified.
- the two end strips 6 can be seen in their fully assembled state, with the end pieces 12A' and 12B', which are mitred at an angle of 45°, being connected by a connecting pin, of which only the upper head 18 is visible.
- the slot between the curtains 5 is larger because they do not extend into the area of the end pieces 12A' and 12B', but are aligned with the end of the end strips 6.
- FIG.7 A further embodiment of a device according to the invention is initially shown as an overview in Fig.7 shown, where you can see that the end strips 6' are mitred so that the visible parts of the connecting elements (to be described in more detail below) can be made significantly narrower.
- the exact structure is clearly evident from Fig.8 There you can see two connecting elements 21A and 21B, each with an end piece 22A and 22B, to which corresponding plug-in parts 23A and 23B are connected in one piece. While the plug-in parts 23A and 23B have essentially the same structure as the plug-in parts 13A and 13B described in more detail above, the end pieces 22A and 22B are designed as narrow plate-shaped bodies which close the opening of the hollow chamber profiles towards the end strips 6' and also have corresponding miter angles.
- connection of the connecting elements 23A and 23B is made as in the previously described embodiment by corresponding coupling elements 26A and 26B with an inner cylindrical opening, through which a connecting pin 17 with a widened head 18 is inserted in the connected state in order to obtain a reliable positive connection.
- Fig. 9A and 9B show, in a different perspective, the connecting elements 21A and 21B from Fig.8 In this illustration, it is also clearly visible that a recess 29 is also provided in the upper area of the end pieces 22A and 22B, which serves to bring the ends of the two fastening rods connected to the lower end of the curtain as close to each other as possible in the corner area, as can also be clearly seen from Fig.7 can be seen.
- FIG.10 A third embodiment of the device according to the invention is initially shown schematically, this representation again corresponding to the already explained Fig.2 It can be seen that the end strips 6 are cut straight and that the end pieces used are again mitred, as was already described in the first embodiment. In contrast, however, the end pieces 32A and 32B used here have the Fig. 11
- the perspectively shown connecting elements 31A and 31B have, in addition to the already known coupling elements 36A and 36B, a further guide sleeve 37A and 37B, of which Fig. 11 however, only the upper guide sleeve 37A of the end piece 32A is visible.
- the two connecting elements 31A and 31B are shown in a different perspective, from which the arrangement of the guide sleeves 37A and 37B is clearly visible.
- both sleeves 37A and 37B correspond to each other, so that the openings of the guide sleeves 37A and 37B, which are not shown in more detail, allow the accommodation of a guide means, for example a guide rod 38, as shown in Fig.10 is shown schematically.
- a guide means for example a guide rod 38
- FIG. 13 a fourth embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown schematically. It can be clearly seen here that end strips 6" are provided, which are not arranged in a common horizontal plane. The exact structure is therefore clearer from the Fig. 14 refer to.
- Fig. 14 clearly shows that the ends of the 6" end strips are straight here too.
- the extruded profiles of the 6" end strips are designed in such a way that they can be fitted with connecting elements without a plug-in part.
- the connecting elements are designed here as cover caps 41A and 41B, which cover the open end of the 6" end strips and are connected to it by means of Screws 43 guided through corresponding openings 42 are screwed into corresponding channels 44 of the end strips 6", so that a firm connection is created between the end strip 6" and the respective cover cap 41A or 41B.
- Each cover cap 41A, 41B has a protruding web 45A, 45B, at the end of which a guide element 46A, 46B is provided, which is provided with an inner through-opening serving as a vertical centering axis.
- a guide element 46A, 46B is provided, which is provided with an inner through-opening serving as a vertical centering axis.
- the two cover caps 41A and 41B are in the Figures 15A and 15B shown again individually.
- Fig. 15A clearly shows that the guide element 46A of the cover cap 41A is significantly smaller than the guide element 46B at the end of the web 45B of the cover cap 41B.
- the guide element 46A has a cylindrical inner opening 47 for receiving a guide means.
- the outer shape of the guide element 46A is double-conical, with a largest outer diameter 49A being visible in the vertical direction in the middle of the guide element 46A.
- the special feature of this fourth embodiment of the invention is that the two cover caps 41A and 41B are able to allow the end strips 6" connected to them to move vertically relative to each other without hindering each other.
- the larger guide element 46B has a vertical slot 48, the dimensions of which are designed in such a way that it allows the web 45A of the cover cap 41A to pass through. If both End strips 6" arranged in a common horizontal plane, the two guide sleeves 46A and 46B act exactly like the coupling elements of the end pieces of the previously described embodiments, because both cover caps 41A and 41B are connected to each other by the contact line of the circles 49 A and 49 B with almost no play.
- the opening 47 of the smaller guide element 46A can serve to accommodate a guide means, for example a guide rod 48, as in Fig. 13 is shown.
- cover caps 41A and 41B ensures that the curtains 5 installed there can be moved independently of one another in the vertical direction. This is a significant advantage, especially when only one of the two window surfaces running across the corner is directly exposed to sunlight, since in this case only this surface can be protected from direct sunlight by the individually extendable curtain 5.
