Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method and a device set up to implement it for picking a passenger transport system.
- Passenger transport systems such as elevators, escalators or moving walks are generally permanently installed in buildings and are used to transport people vertically and/or horizontally in the buildings.
- passenger transport systems used for different purposes can differ significantly, in particular with regard to the components installed therein and/or the way in which these components are operated.
- an elevator to be used in a tall building may differ from an elevator to be used in a lower building in terms of many properties and components, i.e., for example, in terms of a size of an elevator car, a weight of a counterweight, a length of rope or belt-like suspension means, a performance a drive machine, a dimensioning of brakes, a number of anchors, etc.
- the way in which the components of the elevator are installed and operated may also differ depending on the location and/or purpose.
- a passenger transport system When planning a passenger transport system, it is first configured with regard to the components to be provided. Among other things, local conditions such as those prevailing in the structure that accommodates the passenger transport system, local regulations, which specify, for example, which safety precautions must be implemented in the passenger transport system, as well as individual user requests, which specify, for example, which conveying capacities the passenger transport system should provide and/or Which convenience functions should be provided is taken into account. Information that reflects a resulting configuration of the passenger transport system can, for example, be stored in a type of configuration list or bill of materials (BOM - Bill Of Materials), in which under Among other things, all components and components to be accommodated in the passenger transport system are specified, if necessary with additional information about further functional and/or structural properties of the same.
- BOM - Bill Of Materials bill of materials
- a so-called picking of the passenger transport system generally takes place.
- the special configuration of an individual passenger transport system is prepared for its intended purpose and operation with regard to the components and parts it contains.
- the individual components and components must be suitably adapted in terms of their respective properties and functions in order to be able to implement actions for the entire passenger transport system together.
- properties of drive devices, braking devices, elevator doors, control devices, warning or alarm devices, etc. to be provided therein can be set for suitable interaction and for the implementation of overall properties to be achieved for the elevator system.
- the properties of an elevator control which controls the various components operating in the elevator system and coordinates their operation with one another, should be set appropriately.
- picking a passenger transport system is a very complex process in which well-trained personnel have to carry out a large number of complex and possibly interdependent work steps. Picking the passenger transport system can therefore involve significant costs and time. Furthermore, due to the complexity of a picking process, the risk of errors occurring that can endanger the operation, integrity or even the safety of the passenger transport system can be significant.
- a method for picking a passenger transport system according to claim 1 is proposed.
- Querying picking information which indicates information about parameters that are to be set as part of picking the passenger transport system, by the computer-controlled mobile device, taking the configuration information into account; and Transmitting the picking information to the controller controlling the passenger transport system.
- the picking arrangement is configured to execute or control a method according to an embodiment of the first aspect of the invention.
- a computer program product according to claim 12 is proposed with computer-readable instructions which, when executed on a computer-controlled picking arrangement according to the second aspect of the invention, instruct it to execute or control a method according to an embodiment of the first aspect of the invention.
- a computer-readable medium is proposed with a computer program product stored thereon according to the third aspect of the invention
- this control usually has an integrated human-machine interface (HMI - Human Machine Interface), which a technician can use to carry out the picking.
- HMI Human Machine Interface
- the human-machine interface usually has a display that can be used to indicate what type of picking information is currently being requested.
- the human-machine interface usually had some input buttons with which the technician could select a type of picking information that was currently being queried and which the technician could then use to enter queried parameters for this picking information.
- a display that is usually small in practice could be used to show that the type of picking information that is currently being queried is how many floors an elevator car in an elevator system can stop at.
- the technician can then enter the number of floors existing in the elevator system to be picked and then switch as the next type of picking information, for example to a query of a desired speed at which an elevator car door on one of the floors should be opened.
- the approach presented here proposes that the picking of a people transport system is supported by a computer-controlled mobile device such as a smartphone, a tablet, a notebook, a laptop or similar.
- the mobile device can be so portable that a technician can easily carry it with him.
- An application (“app”) specifically programmed for this purpose can be executed on such a device.
- the device can be specifically configured to communicate with both a programmable controller controlling the passenger transport system and with an external database. to be able to exchange information.
- the mobile device can not only serve as an external human-machine interface for controlling the passenger transport system, but can also support or simplify the picking process by taking into account so-called configuration information when querying picking information, from which information can be derived a configuration of the passenger transport system to be picked can be derived. This means that querying the picking information can not only be carried out in a more targeted manner, but the technician carrying out the picking can also be provided with further assistance using the mobile device, thereby making the picking process simpler and/or less error-prone.
- the programmable controller can be designed essentially similarly to conventional controllers of passenger transport systems, that is, have essentially the same hardware and/or implement a substantially same range of functions.
- the programmable controller and the mobile device should be able to exchange data with each other.
- suitable data communication interfaces can be provided on both devices.
- an interface can be provided on both devices in order to be able to communicate wirelessly via radio, in particular via Bluetooth or more preferably via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). On the one hand, this allows data to be transmitted from the control of the passenger transport system to the mobile device.
- information can be transmitted as to what type of picking information is currently to be queried, so that this information can be output via the mobile device, ie, for example, by displaying it on its display.
- data can be transmitted from the mobile device to the control of the passenger transport system.
- queried picking information for example from a Technicians entered on the mobile device or which were retrieved from other information sources by the mobile device are transmitted to the control of the passenger transport system.
- the external database can be stored in a computer, a server or a data cloud (cloud) away from the passenger transport system.
- the external database can be stored in a data cloud operated by a manufacturer of the passenger transport system.
- the configuration information for several passenger transport systems can be stored in the external database. This configuration information can, for example, provide information about which components were used in a passenger transport system and/or planned for the passenger transport system and/or in what way such components can be configured through suitable picking.
- the fact that the previously retrieved configuration information is taken into account when querying the picking information can, for example, be used to intelligently support the technician when entering such picking information.
- the configuration information to be taken into account during picking can be derived from planning data, which indicates which components were planned for building the passenger transport system and thus ordered, for example, from a manufacturer of the passenger transport system or its suppliers.
- planning data which indicates which components were planned for building the passenger transport system and thus ordered, for example, from a manufacturer of the passenger transport system or its suppliers.
- the configuration information generally includes a parts list (Bill Of Materials - BOM), which states which components are to be installed in the passenger transport system, if applicable how many such components are to be installed, and which physical and/or functional properties such components have should, etc.
- the control was designed in such a way that it could be used for different configurations of the passenger transport system or for different purposes. Accordingly, the control could in principle also be used to query picking information that was specific to a specific task picking people transport system were not relevant, for example because certain components were not used in it. For example, a controller could in principle be able to pick functions from several doors provided in an elevator car, although elevator systems only in a few cases actually have several car doors, so that in all other cases this picking option did not need to be used.
- a technician had to know in advance which components are actually installed in the passenger transport system in order to then be able to use this knowledge to select on the control of the passenger transport system which picking information actually needs to be entered in the specific case.
- the technician had to be appropriately trained and provided with configuration information in advance.
- the technician may have to laboriously navigate through various picking options in order to actually enter required picking information, which could result in additional effort. In addition, this could be made more difficult by the previously often complicated handling of a human-machine interface on the control of the passenger transport system.
- the picking process described here it is therefore proposed for the picking process described here to configure the computer-controlled mobile device used to query and transmit the picking information in such a way that it largely or completely automatically selects the picking information that is necessary for the To be able to set the components ordered for a specific passenger transport system appropriately as part of the picking process, and then actually only query this picking information. This can avoid a technician having to laboriously navigate through various picking options and/or, in a specific case, entering unnecessary picking information.
- a way in which the picking information is queried may depend on an identity of a technician carrying out the picking.
- the identity of the technician who is to carry out the picking can be known in advance or during the picking process. Due to the knowledge of this identity, the picking process and in particular the querying of the picking information can be adapted to the characteristics of the technician that are thereby known.
- the picking process can be adapted accordingly. For example, when querying the picking information, a less qualified technician may be provided with more guidance on how to determine and/or enter that picking information than a more highly qualified technician.
- a selection regarding a decision as to which picking information is queried can be dependent on the identity of a technician carrying out the picking.
- the entire picking should not be carried out by just a single technician. Instead, simple steps can be performed by a less qualified technician and then a more qualified technician can simply perform the remaining steps.
- the computer-controlled mobile device may be a personalized device of a technician performing the picking.
- the mobile device may be owned or at least in possession of the technician carrying out the picking.
- the mobile device can be a smartphone that can be used professionally and/or privately or a computer that can be used professionally and/or privately by the technician. This makes it possible to indirectly determine the identity of the technician.
- an identity of a technician carrying out the picking can be determined by querying a person-specific authentication.
- the mobile device can, for example, request the technician to authenticate himself, i.e. to communicate his identity, for example by entering a personalized identifier and/or by transmitting biometric information such as a personal fingerprint.
- the technician's identity can be determined with a particularly high level of security. For example, queries for picking information that may only be carried out by certain technicians can then be released and the relevant part of picking can be carried out using the mobile device.
- query information when querying the picking information, can additionally be output via the computer-controlled mobile device, which provides information about how the picking information to be queried is to be determined.
- the technician using the mobile device can be provided with additional information with which, for example, he can be explained how certain picking information to be queried can or should be determined.
- the query information that can be sent to the technician is, for example, information about how these measurements are to be carried out and which ones Security measures need to be taken, how the measurement results are to be interpreted, etc.
- the query information can also be stored in the external database in which the configuration information is stored. Alternatively, query information can be retrieved from other information sources, that is, for example, via other databases or a data cloud, for example after the configuration information or at least information about a component of the passenger transport system to be picked has been transmitted.
- a type of query information output can be dependent on the identity of a technician carrying out the picking.
- a type or level of detail of the query information to be output can depend on different factors, which in turn can be influenced by the identity or qualifications of the technician carrying out the picking. For example, the less qualified the technician performing the query, the more detailed the query information to be output should be.
- the identity of the passenger transport system to be picked can be determined in various ways. For example, a technician carrying out the picking can know this identity and enter it in advance, for example, into the mobile device. Alternatively, the mobile device can determine this identity of the passenger transport system based on other data, for example based on data that is stored in the passenger transport system and can be accessed by the mobile device.
- identity information about an identity of the passenger transport system can be determined based on a deployment plan for a technician carrying out the picking.
- the configuration information can then be retrieved taking this identity information into account.
- deployment plans can specify when which technician should visit and pick which passenger transport system.
- Corresponding information can be stored in a database. Based on this, the identity of a passenger transport system that is visited by a specific technician at a specific time can be known. In this way, the identity of the passenger transport system can be determined in a very simple and automated manner.
- execution information can be saved during the picking process or after completion of the picking process.
- Such execution information can contain at least one piece of information or more information about which picking information was queried, at what point in time the picking information was queried, at what point in time the picking information was transmitted to the controller, from which technician the picking information was queried and/or how many repetitions Queries of the picking information were carried out.
- implementation information can be recorded and stored using the devices and devices used, which contains information about how, when and/or by whom the entire picking or individual queries of picking information carried out were carried out and/or What problems may have occurred and led to repetitions when querying the picking information.
- This implementation information can, for example, be used subsequently to analyze technical problems that occur in the passenger transport system and, for example, to check whether these were caused by errors during picking.
- the execution information can be checked promptly, for example to analyze whether picking was carried out in accordance with the rules.
- a more highly qualified technician who is supposed to accept the passenger transport system and check the previously carried out picking can use the stored implementation information recognize which queries of picking information were carried out as well as when, by whom and/or in what way this picking information was queried.
- the execution information can be used, for example to be able to evaluate or check the picking work carried out by a technician.
- the implementation information can, for example, be transmitted to the external database in which the configuration information is stored and stored there.
- the implementation information can be transmitted to another database and stored there, for example to a database of a manufacturer or maintenance service provider for the passenger transport system set up for monitoring and/or maintenance purposes.
- the implementation information could possibly be stored in the control of the passenger transport system and/or in the mobile device, from where it could be retrieved at a later point in time if necessary.
- additional component information relating to a component actually installed in the passenger transport system can be determined and compared with configuration information relating to the component.
- a technician visits a passenger transport system to pick it, he can determine which components were actually installed in the passenger transport system. It may happen that these actually installed components differ from components planned during a planning phase and thus components mentioned in the configuration information, for example because an originally planned component was not available at the time of assembly of the passenger transport system. If differences arise when comparing the actually installed components with the configuration information, this can be taken into account during the picking itself. For example, picking information can be queried taking into account the component information about the components actually installed.
- the configuration information in the external database can be corrected or updated.
- Embodiments of the picking method described can advantageously be carried out with a picking arrangement according to an embodiment of the second aspect of the invention.
- This picking arrangement has several components.
- the programmable controller that can control the passenger transport system is a computer with an external database stored on it in which the configuration information of several passenger transport systems is stored, and that computer-controlled mobile device, which is able to do so in particular using the application programmed specifically for this purpose is enabled to be able to carry out essential steps of the picking process, such as in particular retrieving the configuration information and querying the picking information, taking the configuration information into account with the mobile device.
- Such a picking arrangement can be enabled, in particular by a computer program product according to the third aspect of the invention, to execute or control an embodiment of the picking method described herein.
- the computer program product can consist of several parts, which can be executed partly in the control of the passenger transport system, partly in the computer storing the external database and partly in the mobile device. Through appropriate interaction of the individual components, programmed by the respective parts of the computer program product, these components can execute or control the picking process as a whole.
- a computer program product according to the fourth aspect of the invention can be set up to, when executed on the computer-controlled mobile device, instruct the latter to carry out or control the steps to be carried out by the mobile device as part of the picking method described herein.
- the computer program product of the fourth aspect of the invention can be viewed as the application with which the mobile device is programmed in order to be able to carry out its task in the picking method described.
- the computer program products can be programmed in any computer language.
- the computer program products can each be stored on any computer-readable medium.
- a computer program product may be stored on an easily portable computer-readable medium such as flash memory, a CD, a DVD, or the like.
- a computer program product can be stored on a permanently installed computer or server and downloaded from it, for example via a network such as the Internet.
- the computer program product can be stored on computers that are part of a data cloud.
- Fig. 1 shows an elevator system with a picking arrangement for carrying out a picking process according to an embodiment of the invention.
- Fig. 1 shows a passenger transport system 1 in the form of an elevator system.
- the elevator system has a variety of components such as an elevator car 5, a counterweight 7, belt-like suspension means 9, a drive machine 11, elevator doors 13, etc.
- Some of the components of the elevator system 1 are controllable and are controlled by a controller 15, whereby a way in which the controller 15 controls the components individually may depend on properties of these components and/or other components present in the passenger transport system 1.
- the elevator system was suitably configured in a planning phase. Among other things, suitable components were selected. Corresponding configuration information was stored in an external database 19 in a computer 17.
- the computer 17 can be arranged remotely from the elevator system, for example at a manufacturer of the elevator system or as part of a data cloud 18.
- picking information must be entered into the controller 15, in particular to enable the controller 15 to control the components of the elevator system according to the specific conditions in the building and desired functional requirements.
- the elevator system can be picked by a technician 23 easily, quickly and/or be carried out with little risk of errors.
- configuration information regarding the specific passenger transport system 1 can first be retrieved from the external database 19. If necessary, this configuration information can be temporarily stored in the mobile device 21.
- the mobile device can then query picking information with the application running on it. For this purpose, for example, it can be shown on a display of the mobile device which picking information is currently to be queried.
- the application can have the effect of only querying configuration information that is required for the specific passenger transport system 1, as characterized by the configuration information, whereas other configuration information that is required for other passenger transport systems but are not relevant to the specific passenger transport system 1 to be commissioned, cannot be queried.
- additional query information can be issued to him, which can inform him about how the picking information to be queried can be determined.
- information about the identity of the technician 23 can be used, for example, in order to be able to send the technician 23 information tailored to his person, in particular his qualifications, his language, etc.
- a mobile device with a specially developed application, which is preferably connected wirelessly (for example using BLE) to an elevator control system, to initiate and carry out picking using a user interface that is similar to an installation wizard .
- the mobile application has information (ordered hardware parts and options via the BOM configuration, ordered services) about the elevator to be commissioned, for example from the order. It receives this information, for example, from a data cloud in which, for example, details about the order are stored in an SAP database.
- the information is synchronized to the mobile device before picking to be available if one Network connectivity should be limited. However, it can also be received or updated on site if network connectivity is available.
- the application intelligently guides the technician through the picking process and, for example, only displays steps or activities that are relevant for the specific elevator, whereas steps are skipped, for example, if a special option and therefore hardware is not present, with alternatives depending, for example be shown by the presence of a special door or a special drive.
- a status via hardware connected to a control safety chain is also queried by the application from the control and is advantageously used to provide specific information and guidance.
- the application also highlights if components differ from what was ordered or are missing. The technician can then update the original order details and/or request delivery of the missing parts using the application.
- data automation can be used (e.g. calculating correct values in the application using time data in the mobile device, etc.).
- the technician will recognize how many steps have already been fully completed and, if allowed, will perform phases of the entire process according to his or her own preferences. Individual procedural steps may also differ depending on the country in which the technician is located, the technician's experience with elevator systems, etc.
- a record can be kept of what was done during the commissioning process (e.g. pass/fail), what parameters were changed, etc., so that there is evidence, but also to update information in the data cloud regarding the specific installation ( to have current/correct information).
- the application can provide instructions on how to check and resolve this. This can be done, for example, using images with visually highlighted areas (e.g. where a connection cable can be found, buttons to be pressed, etc.) or short animations/videos.
- the rules for the picking process can be maintained in the data cloud and updated regularly (in case problems are identified or new hardware components are used, etc.).
- the user interface on the controller can preferably be completely eliminated and rely on a mobile device on which software for picking, configuring, diagnosing and/or solving problems, etc. is provided.
- the software can be updated more frequently, just as a set of features can be limited based on users or even licensing models (for third-party providers).
- the approach presented here enables a significant reduction in the time required, for example, to commission an elevator. Furthermore, opportunities to make mistakes are reduced and/or faster solutions are offered. In addition, training effort and dependence on highly trained resources can be reduced.
