Description
The subject of the invention is an object wedging device comprising a stack of honeycomb cardboard panels.
The transport of an object requires the use of wedging devices in order to avoid deterioration of the transported object. Currently, the wedging devices are made of polystyrene which has the advantage of being light, easy to mold and not very abrasive. As environmental concerns become more and more important, manufacturers are seeking to replace this material with another more ecological material. Certain molded cellulose wedging devices have thus been developed. This material, which is essentially made from recycled paper and water, nevertheless has the drawback of being heavy, difficult to mold into complex shapes, abrasive and generates dust. In addition, it does not absorb shocks well and the existing production capacity is insufficient to cover the needs of the market. It is also possible to use crumpled paper, but this does not always provide good cushioning for the most fragile objects.
Honeycomb cardboard wedging devices are also known. The latter is formed of two parallel sheets of paper between which stand a plurality of sheets of paper substantially perpendicular to the two parallel sheets of paper. The cellular board, although relatively bulky, has good impact resistance in a direction perpendicular to the two parallel sheets but much lower impact resistance in a parallel direction. A sheet of honeycomb cardboard can be stamped (crushed) perpendicular to the planes of the parallel sheets of paper in order to accommodate an object. This stamping makes the cellular board resilient, promoting shock absorption, but decreases the overall strength of the cellular board. It is also necessary to protect the objects to be wedged against abrasion, in particular when it is in contact with the edges of a recessed or stamped part of a cellular cardboard plate.
Finally, corrugated cardboard can also be used, but its impact resistance and shock absorption capacity are relatively limited. In addition, its edges are abrasive, requiring additional protection for the object to be wedged.
The invention aims to resolve all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks.
To this end, a first object of the invention relates to a device for wedging an object comprising a stack of at least three assembled honeycomb cardboard panels, each panel comprising two parallel outer sheets of paper between which a plurality extend. sheets of paper erected perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the two outer sheets, the panels being assembled superimposed on the side of their outer sheets, and in which at least one cellular cardboard panel defines at least one housing for receiving an object opening onto at least one of its outer leaves.
This arrangement makes it possible to produce a resistant wedging device for receiving an object.
Advantageously, for better protection, the wedging device may comprise a stack of at least four panels of honeycomb cardboard superimposed and assembled, at least one of which defines at least one housing opening onto at least one of its outer sheets.
Advantageously, each housing can be chosen from a housing produced by stamping and a housing produced by cutting.
Advantageously, in order to make it possible to accommodate objects of large dimensions, at least one panel can have at least one housing communicating with a housing of an adjacent panel.
Advantageously, the panels of the stack can be of the same shapes and dimensions, at least in a plane parallel to their outer sheets. In one embodiment, two adjacent panels of the stack may be connected to each other by an edge of their facing outer sheets, these connections between the panels being located alternately on opposite sides of the stack. the stack or alternatively on adjacent sides of the stack. In other words, the panels of the stack can be either connected to each other alternately on either side of the stack, or connected to each other alternately on adjacent sides of the stack. Such an arrangement makes it possible to facilitate the mounting of the wedging device with a good positioning of the panels.
In a variant that is particularly easy to implement, these connections between the panels can be produced by fold lines connecting the outer sheets facing the stack.
The invention also relates to a cellular cardboard blank for producing a wedging device according to the invention, characterized in that it is formed from a single cellular cardboard blank having two outer sheets of paper. parallel between which extend a plurality of sheets of paper erected perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the two outer sheets, the blank having on each outer sheet cutting and folding lines defining panels, each folding line being located opposite a line for cutting the other outer sheet of the blank in a direction perpendicular to the outer sheets of the blank, and the cutting and folding lines being arranged so that, after shaping, the panels are superimposed, two adjacent panels being connected to each other by a single fold line.
It is thus possible to produce the wedging device according to the invention in a very simple manner and to assemble it rapidly without risk of error, the panels being connected to each other.
In a variant, the cutting and folding lines may be parallel and alternate in a direction perpendicular to the lines. In this case, each cut line of an outer sheet of the blank is located opposite a fold line of the other outer sheet of the blank in a direction perpendicular to the outer sheets of the blank.
In another variant, the cutting and folding lines can be perpendicular, and optionally the cutting lines can be parallel two by two and in the extension of one another and the fold lines can be parallel two by two. and in continuation of one another. In this case, each fold line of an outer sheet of the blank is located opposite a cut line of the other outer sheet of the blank in a direction perpendicular to the outer sheets of the blank and the cut lines of a outer sheet of the blank are located opposite cut lines of the other outer sheet of the blank in the same perpendicular direction.
The invention thus also relates to a method of shaping the cellular cardboard blank according to the invention, in which the blank is folded until the outer sheets of adjacent panels are superposed, connected by a fold line.
Advantageously, the adjacent superimposed panels can be assembled by at least one technique chosen from gluing, interlocking, stapling.

In the example, the
Furthermore, according to the invention, at least one cellular cardboard panel defines at least one housing for receiving an object opening onto at least one of its outer sheets.
In the example, the
The invention is of course not limited by the shape and the number of housings which can be chosen as a function of the number of objects to be wedged and the dimensions of the object or objects to be wedged.
Housing may also be provided on the
In general, a housing may extend over the entire height of the
A honeycomb board panel usually has a thickness (or height), measured perpendicular to its outer sheets, of the order of 1 to 10 cm. The direction in which the strength of a cellular board panel is greatest is the direction perpendicular to its outer sheets.
It will be noted that a
In this example, the blank 100 has two

It will be noted that each fold line 105 'of an outer sheet 101' of the blank is located opposite a cut line 104 'of the other outer sheet 102' of the blank in a direction perpendicular to the outer sheets of the blank.
In this example, the blank 100 has two housings 24 ', 34' arranged on adjacent panels 20 ', 30' and arranged so as to communicate when these panels are superimposed. In particular, when the panels 20 'and 30' are superimposed, the housings 24 ', 34' thus form a single housing, the walls of which are continuous after shaping of the blank.
Whatever the embodiment of the blank, the panels, after shaping of the blank or during the latter, are assembled by gluing, stapling, interlocking or any other suitable technique.
The invention has been described with reference to a wedging device comprising three or four stacked panels. The invention is not however limited to a number of panels, the latter being chosen according to the thickness of the panels and the dimensions of the objects to be wedged.
