Definitions

  • the invention relates to a leg rest fitting for the reversible adjustment of a leg rest of a piece of seating and/or reclining furniture from a use position to a non-use position and vice versa, comprising a frame and comprising a pivot unit which is pivotably connected to the frame and has a leg rest support device for the leg rest and with pivot arms, the Leg support support device is held pivotably on the leg support ends of the pivot arms via leg support joints, and the pivot arms on the opposite pivot arm ends of the leg support are pivotably connected to the frame via pivot joints.
  • the known leg rest fitting comprises a displacement unit with a carriage that can be moved translationally in the frame and a pivoting unit with pivoting arms that are pivotably connected at a first end to the carriage of the displacement unit.
  • the swivel unit comprises a second end of the swivel arms opposite the first end Legrest support device to which the legrest is fixed. In the non-use position of the leg rest, the carriage is moved so far into the frame to a rear side opposite the front side that the leg rest is held completely under the frame.
  • the carriage of the displacement unit In the usage position of the leg rest, the carriage of the displacement unit is moved so far to the front side in the frame that the leg rest protrudes completely out of the frame towards the front side.
  • the pivoting arms are pivoted up for this purpose in such a way that the leg rest ends at a comfortable height with a seat cushion of a seat part of the known piece of seating and/or lying furniture that is fixed to the frame.
  • the swivel arms are designed to be relatively long in order to enable the leg rest to be swiveled up into the use position without colliding with the frame and a seat cushion.
  • the displacement unit requires a large displacement path. Accordingly, the known leg rest fitting requires a frame with a relatively large depth and can only be installed in known furniture for sitting and/or lying down with a corresponding body depth.
  • JP 2010 148773 A also discloses a prior art leg rest fitting.
  • the invention is characterized in connection with the preamble of patent claim 1, characterized in that the leg rest support device has a longitudinally profiled support rail and a leg support carriage which is held on the support rail so that it can be moved in a translatory manner in relation to a rail longitudinal axis of the support rail, the leg rest being on a leg support carrier of the leg support support device is set, wherein the leg rest joints are held at different positions on the leg rest carriage and wherein a first pivoting arm via a lever mechanism with the leg rest and / or with the Support rail is connected in such a way that the leg rest is moved out to a front side in relation to the frame when the swivel arms are pivoted up into the use position, in that the leg support carriage is moved in relation to the support rail.
  • the particular advantage of the invention is that the support rail and the leg rest carriage form a linear displacement unit in the leg rest support device, via which the leg rest can be moved out towards the front of the frame when the swivel arms are pivoted up into the use position of the leg rest.
  • the pivoting arms of the pivoting unit can be held close to the frame when pivoting the leg rest and in this respect can be designed with a shorter length.
  • the displacement unit requires a reduced displacement path in order to fully retract the leg rest connected to the pivot arms into the frame in the non-use position. Accordingly, the frame can be made compact with a reduced depth, which saves cost and weight.
  • the leg rest fitting according to the invention can also be integrated into seating and/or reclining furniture with a comparatively small body depth. Furthermore, this allows the displacement unit or the frame to be flexibly adapted to the dimensions of a piece of seating and/or lying furniture and a flexible seat height, seat depth or size of the leg rest is made possible.
  • the lever mechanism ensures that the linear displacement unit is guided when the swivel arms are pivoted.
  • the linear displacement unit configured in the leg rest support device according to the invention makes it possible for the leg rest fastened to it to be moved out further to the front opposite the frame in the use position. This is particularly interesting for people who are taller than average.
  • the lever mechanism is designed as a lever chain of chain links pivotably connected to one another via chain joints. This makes it possible for the lever chain to be stretched when the leg rest is in the position of use and for the chain links of the lever chain to be in the non-use position of the leg rest compact and pivoted into each other in a defined manner. The result of this is that the leg rest carriage is held in an advantageous defined or stable position on the support rail both in the use position and in the non-use position of the leg rest.
  • the chain links of the lever mechanism have different link lengths and/or a kink and/or a bend.
  • the lever chain advantageously comprises a total of three chain links.
  • This embodiment of the lever chain has proven to be particularly advantageous because it allows a large leg rest displacement path of the leg rest carriage relative to the support rail and keeps the leg rest carriage in a stable position in the non-use position, with the chain links being pivoted into one another in a particularly compact manner.
  • the lever mechanism consisting of three chain links can be manufactured easily and inexpensively and has a high level of mechanical stability.
  • the first leg support end of the first swivel arm has a kink and/or a bend in the area of a first leg support joint, via which the first swivel arm is pivotably connected to the leg support carriage, whereby in the first swivel arm a vertical over the first leg support joint protruding lever chain projection is formed, on which a first lever end of the lever mechanism is pivotally held in relation to a first joint axis of the first leg rest joint.
  • the lever chain protrusion of the first swivel arm rotates accordingly around the leg rest joint, as a result of which the lever mechanism connected thereto is moved along with it in a structurally simple manner in a correspondingly directly forcibly guided manner.
  • the axes of the joints connected to the first swivel arm are kept at the same distance from one another as the axes of the joints connected to the second swivel arm.
  • the axes of the joints connected to the swivel arms are advantageously oriented horizontally. This makes it possible for the pivoting arms to rotate about the same pivoting path in relation to the pivoting axes, with the legrest being able to experience an advantageous defined inclination as a result of the different positions of the legrest joint axes compared to the non-use position.
  • the leg rest is inclined towards the front in the position of use, whereby the leg rest slide is favored to pivot towards the front as a result of the force of gravity.
  • the leg rest In the non-use position, the leg rest is advantageously oriented parallel to the frame, so that the leg rest is held compactly below the frame at the lowest possible height.
  • the furniture for sitting and/or lying down, in which the leg rest fitting according to the invention is installed, has an advantageous high legroom in this respect.
  • the support rail has a rail cross-section with a rail recess and the leg rest carriage has a carriage cross-section which is shaped correspondingly at least in sections to the rail recess and engages in the rail recess.
  • the leg rest carriage is guided in a stable, linear manner in the rail recess of the longitudinally profiled support rail.
  • An advantageous rail cutout of the support rail can be C-shaped and/or U-shaped, for example, or designed as a dovetail cutout.
  • the support rail or the leg rest carriage has a linear bearing and preferably a linear roller bearing.
  • the linear displacement unit formed from the support rail and the leg support carriage is guided in the leg support support device with particularly little friction and noise and has good running properties. Blocking as a result of the translational relative movement of the support rail and the leg rest carriage to one another is thus prevented.
  • the linear displacement unit preferably has at least two linear bearings or linear roller bearings, so that a particularly advantageous, stable two-point bearing is formed.
  • the support rail has a rail length greater than or equal to a carriage length over which the leg support carriage engages in the support rail in relation to the rail longitudinal axis, with a leg support displacement path with which the support rail and the leg support carriage can be moved translationally relative to one another is greater than or equal to a difference between the rail length and the carriage length. Provision is made in this respect for the leg rest carriage to be moved out in sections over a rail end of the support rail.
  • the leg rest carriage when the leg rest is in use, the leg rest carriage is moved out in sections over a first rail end of the support rail facing the front, and in the non-use position of the leg rest it is moved to a second rail end of the support rail opposite the first rail end.
  • the leg rest carriage is moved out over the first rail end of the support rail only to the extent that it engages in the support rail with a sufficient carriage length and is stably guided.
  • an end position of the leg rest carriage that protrudes beyond the first end of the rail is advantageously limited by the lever mechanism or other limiting means.
  • a second lever end of the lever mechanism opposite the first lever end is fixed in relation to the longitudinal rail axis of the support rail between the second rail end and half the rail length of the support rail.
  • the first lever end of the lever mechanism is when the swivel arms are pivoted up into the usage position of the leg rest in relation to the longitudinal rail axis of the support rail from a first position between the second rail end of the support rail and the first leg support joint to a second position between the first leg support joint and the first rail end of the support rail spent.
  • the swivel joints via which the swivel arms are connected to the frame, are fixed to a carriage of a displacement unit, which is held in a translatory movable manner in the frame.
  • the legrest support device in a piece of seating and/or reclining furniture with the legrest fitting according to the invention, can be moved into an advantageous, almost invisible position under the frame when the legrest attached thereto is in a non-use position and can be moved out of the frame towards the front to adjust the legrest into the use position.
  • the displacement unit can advantageously be displaced in the frame via a motorized drive unit.
  • a particularly suitable drive unit for the displacement unit is an electric motor belt drive or a spindle drive.
  • the swivel arms are pivoted by a contact surface of a first swivel arm end, opposite the leg rest, of a first swivel arm, which is designed as a chamfer, being moved against a stationary deflection element of the frame .
  • the pivoting arms can be pivoted in a forcibly guided manner.
  • the linear displacement unit of the leg rest support device formed from the support rail and the leg rest carriage is preferably designed as a linear rail guide and particularly preferably as a profile rail guide. Nevertheless, the invention is not limited to an embodiment with a linear rail guide for the linear displacement unit of the leg rest support device. In principle, other designs of known linear guides are conceivable for the linear displacement unit of the leg rest support device, such as a bush guide or a roller guide.

  • FIG 13 looks at an enlarged detail C of the leg rest fitting 2 12 onto the lever protrusion 27 and the deflection element 61, with the leg rest support 12 brought to a position for the leg rest 6 in the use position.
  • the contact surface 55 is in contact with the deflection element 61 .
  • a lever projection surface 56 angularly opposite the contact surface 55 forms the jagged lever projection end 54 with the contact surface 55.
  • the protrusion 57 is cam-shaped and has an auxiliary contact surface 58 angularly opposite the contact surface 55 and a surface 59 facing the leg rest.
  • the auxiliary contact surface 58 and the contact surface 55 together form the V-shaped pivoting recess 60, which surrounds the deflection element 61 when the pivoting arms 22, 23 pivot.
  • the auxiliary contact surface 57 is at a distance from the deflection element 61 when the pivoting arms 22, 23 are pivoted for reversibly adjusting the leg rest 6 from the non-use position into the use position. It is provided as a safety device, particularly in the event that when the leg rest 6 is moved from the use position back into the non-use position, there is an obstacle below the leg rest 6 (blocking situation). In this case, the contact surface 55 is first detached from the deflection element 61 and the auxiliary contact surface 58 then comes into contact with the deflection element 61 .
  • the displacement unit 5 When the carriage 30 is moved back further, the displacement unit 5 functions the auxiliary contact surface 58 as an auxiliary run-on slope, along which the first swivel arm 22 is moved against the deflection element 61 . In this way, the pivoting unit 4 is forced to swivel down, which prevents the leg rest 6 from driving against the seat cushion 66 and damage to the leg rest fitting 2 or to the piece of furniture for sitting and/or lying down 1.
  • the leg rest fitting 2 is not limited to the described drive unit 71 with the profile 73 and the spindle for moving the carriage 30 .
  • other known linear drive units for moving the carriage 30 can also be integrated in the longitudinal beam 65 of the frame 3 .
  • this can be a belt drive or an electric cylinder.
