Durch den erfindungsgemäßen Aufbau des Kraftfahrzeugschlosses mit einem Schlosskasten aus einem Strangpresswerkstück ist nun die Möglichkeit geschaffen, einerseits den Schlosskasten in den Bereichen großer Belastung mit hohen Wandstärken auszulegen und gleichzeitig besteht die Möglichkeit, ein leichtes und kostengünstiges Bauteil zur Herstellung eines Kraftfahrzeugschlosses bereitzustellen. Das Strangpressverfahren ermöglicht hierbei, beliebige Querschnittsflächen und insbesondere ein an die Anforderungen im Kraftfahrzeug schloss angepasstes Profil zu erzeugen, so dass Bereiche mit starken Beanspruchungen mit großen Materialstärken und Bereiche mit geringerer Beanspruchung mit geringeren Materialstärken ausgebildet werden. Das Strangpressverfahren bietet darüber hinaus den Vorteil, dass ein sehr günstiges Halbzeug zur Erzielung eines Kraftfahrzeugschlosses bereitstellbar ist. - Lock according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the lock case (1) comprises a symmetrical cross-sectional area.
- Lock according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the lock case (1) comprises at least one recess (4, 5, 6, 7) and at least one opening (8, 9, 10), wherein in particular the opening (8, 9, 10) serves to receive a bearing axis of a locking mechanism part.
- Lock according to the preceding claim, wherein the opening (8, 9, 10) is inserted in the area of the greater material thickness (13, 14, 15).
- Lock according to any one of the four preceding claims, wherein the areas of greater material thickness (13, 14, 15) extend in a direction (A) of possible maximum load.
- Lock according to any one of the three preceding claims, wherein three areas of greater material thicknesses (13, 14, 15) extend in the direction (A) of maximum load.

- Method for producing a lock case (1) of a lock for a motor vehicle, comprising a locking mechanism with a rotary latch and at least one pawl and the lock case (1), whereinthe locking mechanism is accommodated in the lock case (1) in a pivotably mounted manner, andthe lock case (1) comprises, in particular over its entire extension, areas of different material thicknesses (13, 14, 15, 19), and including the step of:
producing the lock case (1) by means of an extrusion process.
