- Each of the operating elements 220 can be designed as an operating button.
- the procedure is as follows: Starting from the in the 7 and 8th illustrated working position of the clamping device 100, in which the engagement section 176 of the clamping arm 136 is in engagement with the thread 172 of the clamping screw 168 and the clamping arm 136 is, for example, in its upper end position, the guide element 196 is in the engaged position and the latching parts 210 of the latching device 208 are in the latched position, the latching parts 210 of the latching device 208 are pushed into the in 9 shown unlocking position transferred by an operator acts on the actuating elements 220 of the latching parts 210 and moves the same along the transverse direction 116 of the clamping device 100 towards each other.
- the locking parts 210 cause a movement of the guide element 196 from the 9 shown engagement position in the 10 shown release position free.
- the release position shown takes place in that the operator acting on the actuating elements 220 moves the latching parts 210 in the longitudinal direction 114 of the clamping device 100 from the front of the housing 108, at which the clamping arm 136 exits the housing 108, rearwardly, towards the rear of the housing 108, shifts.
- the latching parts 210 are moved apart by the spring element 214 in the directions 218a, 218b, so that they are in the 13 and 14 take the latched position shown, in which the latching parts 210 lock the guide element 196 in the release position.
- This quick adjustment of the clamping arm 136 saves a great deal of adjustment time, which would otherwise have to be spent moving the clamping arm 136 in the working position by rotating the clamping screw 168 about its longitudinal axis 170 from the first working position, for example the upper end position of the clamping arm 136, to the second Working position, such as the lower end position of the clamping arm 136 to move.
- the guide element 196 is transferred from the release position back into the engaged position by an operator moving the latching parts 210 against the elastic restoring force of the spring element 214 from the latched position, in which the latching parts 210 arrest the guide element 196 in its released position, into the unlatched position, in which the latching portions 210 enable movement of the guide member 196 from the release position to the engaged position.
- the guide element 196 freed from the locking position in the release position, is then moved by the pretensioning device 198, in particular the pretensioning spring 200, from the release position into the engaged position, in which the thread 172 of the clamping screw 168 is again engaged with the engagement section 176 of the clamping arm 136.
- the latching parts 210 are moved by the spring element 214 along the directions 218a and 218b, respectively, from the unlatched position to the latched position, so that the guide element 196 is locked in the engaged position and secured against moving back into the release position.
