Description
- The present invention refers to a hob-extractor hood assembly.
- A kitchen generally comprises a hob and an extractor hood disposed above the hob in order to extract the fumes that are produced when cooking.
- Extractor hoods are known, which are built-in in a worktop that supports the hob. These extractor hoods are known as downdraft extractor hoods because they move vertically. Fig. 4A ), the horizontal planes (255, 13) of the follower and of the cam are in mutual contact. During the movement of the linear actuator (50), the inclined plane (154) of the follower slides on the inclined plane (14) of the cam, lowering the hob (1). - With reference to
Figs. 6A and 6B , a fourth embodiment of the actuation means (305) is disclosed. The actuation means (305) comprise at least one eccentric cam (350) that cooperates with a lower wall of the frame (11) of the hob. - The eccentric cam (350) has a practically elliptical shape with a major axis (a).The eccentric cam is pivoted in an eccentric pivoting axis (351). The eccentric cam (350) is moved by moving means, such as a motor or an actuator, in such a way to rotate around its eccentric pivoting axis (351). When the major axis (a) of the eccentric cam is disposed in vertical position, the hob (1) is in raised position (
Fig. 6A ). When the major axis (a) of the eccentric cam is disposed in horizontal position, the hob (1) is in lowered position (Fig. 6B ). AlthoughFigs. 6A and 6B only show one eccentric cam (350) disposed centrally, multiple eccentric cams may be provided in different positions. - With reference to
Figs. 7A and 7B , a possible moving system of the eccentric cam (350) is disclosed. Such a moving system comprises a linear actuator (50) disposed in horizontal position. The stem (52) of the linear actuator is connected to a rack (355) that engages with a toothed wheel (356) integral with the eccentric cam (350). The axis of rotation of the toothed wheel (356) coincides with the eccentric pivoting axis (351) of the eccentric cam. - With reference to
Figs. 8A and8B , a fifth embodiment of the actuation means (405) is disclosed. The actuation means (405) comprise a linear actuator (50) disposed in horizontal position that moves a lever mechanism (9) suitable for lowering and raising the hob (1). For illustrative purposes, the lever mechanism (9) can be of scissors, pantograph or lazy tongue type, and the like. In the example ofFigs. 8A and8B , the lever mechanism (9) is of scissors type. The lever mechanism (9) comprises two levers (90, 91) that are hinged in a pivot (92) disposed in a central position of the levers. A first end (90a) of the first lever (90) is connected to the stem (52) of the linear actuator (50), and a second end (90b) of the first lever can slide under the frame (11) of the hob. A first end (91a) of the second lever (91) can slide on the base plate (20) of the frame of the extractor hood, and a second end (91b) of the second lever can slide under the frame (11) of the hob. - With reference to
Figs. 9A and 9B , a variant of the lever mechanism (109) of pantograph type is disclosed. The lever mechanism (109) comprises a first lever (190) with a first end (190a) connected to the stem (52) of the linear actuator, and a second end pivoted at a first end of a second lever (191) in a pivot (192), which is mounted with possibility of sliding vertically in a slot (193) obtained in a flange fixed to the frame (11) of the extractor hood. A second end (191b) of the second lever can slide under the frame (11) of the hob. - With reference to
Fig. 11 , a second embodiment of the assembly which is not part of the invention is disclosed, which is generally indicated withreference numeral 200. - The assembly (200) comprises a hob (1) supported by a frame (11) and two extractor hoods (2) suitable for being mounted in a worktop intended to support the hob (1).
- Each extractor hood (2) comprises a box (24). Each box (24) contains a fan (25) that blows air outside the box, and a lateral chamber (C2). The boxes (24) are mounted in adjacent position to the lateral chambers (C2) along each side of the hob (1), in such a way that the sum of the lengths of a box (24) and of a lateral chamber (C2) is equal to the length of the side of the hob (1).
- The box (24) of one side of the hob is disposed in front of a lateral chamber (C2) of the other side of the hob; otherwise said, each lateral chamber (C2) is disposed on one side of the hob (1) opposite to the side with the box (24).
- Each extractor hood (2) comprises a filter unit (3) disposed in the lateral chamber (C2), and a lid (32) that closes the lateral chamber (C2) on the filter unit (3).
- The lateral chamber (C2) has an upper extraction opening (226). The upper extraction opening (226) of each lateral chamber (C2) is obtained in upper position relative to the lateral chamber (C2).
- Each box (24) comprises a delivery outlet (24a) for emitting the air delivered by the fan (25) and an extraction outlet (24b). The delivery outlet (24a) is directed towards the hob (1) and towards the upper extraction opening (226) of the lateral chamber (C2) disposed on the opposite side of the hob. The fan (25) comprises a mouth directed towards the delivery outlet (24a) of the box (24) in such a way that, when the fan (25) is in operation, an air flow (F5) blown by the fan (25) is pushed towards the extraction openings (226) of the lateral chambers (C2). The extraction outlet (24b) allows the fan to extract the air from the exterior.
- The assembly (200) comprises a housing (S) defined between the box (24) and the lateral chamber (C2).
- The frame (11) of the hob is mounted in the housing (S), with possibility of sliding vertically.
- The assembly (200) comprises drive means (4) to guide the vertical translation movement of the frame (11) of the hob relative to the extractor hood (2), and actuation means (5; 105; 205; 305; 405) to move the hob (1).
- The drive means (4) and the actuation means (5; 105; 205; 305; 405) are exactly the same as the ones described with reference to the first embodiment of the assembly (100).
- In view of the above, the assembly (200) translates from a raised position, in which the hob (1) covers the delivery outlets (24a) of the boxes (24), to a lowered position, in which the hob (1) is under the level of the delivery outlets (24a) of the boxes (24) and under the level of the upper extraction opening (226) of the lateral chambers (C2), in such a way that an air flow (F5) blown by the fan (25) tends to flow in contact with the surface of the hob (1) because of the Coand effect, generating such a depression that vapors and odors coming from the pots disposed on the hob (1) are conveyed towards the air flow (F5) that touches the hob.
- Consequently, the air flow (F5) blown by the fan (25) transports the vapors and odors coming from the pots disposed on the hob (1) towards the extraction opening (26) of the lateral chamber (C2) disposed on the opposite site of the hob (1) relative to the fan (25) that generates the air flow (F5).
- Although the description refers to an assembly (200) with two extractor hoods, the assembly (200) can comprise only one extractor hood (2) with a fan (25) disposed in a box (24) positioned on one side of the hob (1) and a lateral chamber (C2) disposed on one side of the hob (1) opposite to the side with the box.
