Description
The invention relates to a drainage mat for a floor covering arrangement built on a subsurface with a plate or web-shaped carrier layer, which has an underside that can be placed on the subsurface and has projecting formations directed upwards away from the underside, the upper sides of the projecting formations being one Form a support surface, and with a support layer fixed on the support surface, on which an adhesive or mortar material can be applied without the applied adhesive or mortar material being able to penetrate into spaces between the upwardly projecting formations and fill them, with a respective base area of the upwardly projecting formations on the underside have a length aligned along a drainage direction and a width directed transversely thereto which is shorter than the length.
It is known from practice that a water-impermeable film can be arranged between a subsurface and floor covering elements arranged thereon in order to prevent moisture such as rainwater from above seeping through the floor covering elements or through joints running between them into the floor covering arrangement and unhindered into the subsurface can penetrate. Especially in flooring arrangements that are outdoors on a balcony or are laid on a terrace, or for example with a tile covering in a bathroom or in a wet room in a building, the waterproof film ensures that the moisture penetrating from above through the floor covering arrangement can be retained and removed on the top of the waterproof film. For this purpose, the waterproof films are regularly laid with a slope so that the moisture that accumulates can flow away along a direction specified by the slope, or a drainage direction. However, the additional layers of the floor covering arrangement located on the waterproof film, for example a layer of mortar underneath the individual floor covering elements, hinder the removal of moisture on the top of the waterproof film, so that only small amounts of moisture can be removed.
Decoupling mats with a plate-shaped or web-shaped carrier layer made of a suitable plastic material are also known from practice and, when installed, have depressions directed towards the subsurface. The depressions in the carrier layer are filled with an adhesive or mortar material applied to an upper side of the carrier layer. The individual floor covering elements, for example ceramic or stoneware tile panels, can then be laid on the adhesive or mortar material or embedded in it. The carrier layer decouples the floor covering elements placed on the adhesive or mortar material from the substrate. The depressions filled with the adhesive or mortar material form stilts with which the floor covering elements are supported against the subsurface. Such carrier layers enable the underlying floor covering elements to be decoupled from the subsurface. However, the water-removing drainage effect of such carrier layers with downwardly projecting depressions is comparatively low.
However, it has been found that, particularly in a transition area from a wall to a floor, the drainage effect that can be achieved with such conventional drainage mats with knob-like structural elements or formations is not sufficient, for example, in the transition from a house wall to a balcony, in addition to the rainwater running down the house wall to be able to reliably drain away rainwater that hits the balcony floor and to avoid a backlog of rainwater in the transition area between the house wall and the balcony floor. The water drainage capacity of floor covering arrangements is also of great importance in connection with barrier-free door thresholds when transitioning from a building to an outdoor area in order to prevent accumulated moisture from penetrating into the building.
However, the arrangement of as few upwardly projecting formations as possible and hindering water drainage is considered problematic, since the upwardly projecting formations have to absorb the mechanical loads that occur on the floor covering arrangement and transfer them to the subsurface. A small number of upwardly projecting formations therefore regularly leads to only a low maximum load capacity for the floor covering arrangement.
It is therefore considered an object of the present invention to design a drainage mat of the type mentioned in such a way that the greatest possible drainage effect is made possible and the drainage mat can be laid as easily as possible during the construction of a floor covering arrangement.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the respective base area of the upwardly projecting formations has a tip directed counter to the drainage direction. The formations having a tip have no significant impact surface on an end face of the formations facing the outflowing liquid. This significantly reduces the flow resistance of the individual upwardly projecting formations.
The elongated projecting formations aligned in the drainage direction only slightly hinder water outflow directed in the drainage direction through the spaces formed between the individual projecting formations. At the same time one can A sufficient number of projecting formations or a sufficiently large total base area covered with upwardly projecting formations must be specified in order to reliably support the floor covering elements lying on top of the surface, even under large mechanical loads.
The individual projecting formations can, for example, have a strip-shaped base area with tapering ends, and the drainage mat can be arranged and aligned on the substrate in such a way that the projecting formations are aligned along a drainage direction predetermined by a gradient and only the tapered end faces or ends the strip-shaped projecting formations form resistance surfaces for the amounts of liquid flowing away along the drainage direction.
The length of the upwardly projecting formations can be more than twice or three times the width of the upwardly projecting formations. The upwardly projecting formations can be arranged in rows directed along the drainage direction, so that channel-shaped spaces running along the drainage direction are formed between adjacent rows, which promote the rapid drainage of large amounts of water.
The upwardly projecting formations advantageously have a cross-sectional area that decreases continuously or in steps as the distance from the base area increases. The upwardly projecting formations therefore taper as they grow Distance from the base to a top of the respective formations. Due to the inclined alignment of the side wall sections of the projecting formations, a high mechanical load capacity of the drainage mat can be achieved or supported.
In order to form the lowest possible resistance for the liquid flowing along the projecting formations and to promote rapid removal of the liquid along the drainage direction, it is provided according to an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept that a circumferential line of the respective base area of the upwardly projecting formation extends at least over one The section of the base area that widens in the drainage direction does not have an undercut projecting transversely to the drainage direction along the drainage direction, with which liquid flowing along the projecting formation is retained. The circumferential line can run from a first end directed against the drainage direction to a second end directed in the direction of the drainage direction with as little curvature or profiling or waviness as possible, so that turbulence of the liquid flowing along the upwardly projecting formation is reduced or almost completely avoided. Undercuts projecting transversely to the drainage direction, which form laterally projecting baffles or even pockets or the like along the circumferential line, would generate considerable turbulence and a comparatively high flow resistance and are therefore advantageously avoided. Starting from a first one aligned opposite to the drainage direction At the end, the base area of the upwardly projecting formation widens up to a maximum width of the base area, which is achieved, for example, in a central region of the projecting formation, in order to then taper again towards the second end directed in the drainage direction.
Undercuts that project transversely to the drainage direction should be avoided, especially in a section of the base area with an increasing width, since in this section the liquid flowing around the projecting formation is deflected from the side wall sections of the formation from the original flow direction and outwards or away from the projecting formation is directed. In a section of the base area in which the base area tapers in the drainage direction, undercuts projecting transversely to the drainage direction are hardly relevant, since the liquid flowing along is less deflected or influenced by the side wall sections of the tapering base area.
It has been shown that a scale-like profiling of the side wall sections starting from the nearest tip or at a distance from this tip and extending to a central section of the base area and directed towards the central section provides particularly favorable flow conditions for an efficient drainage effect with a At the same time, the high mechanical strength of the upwardly projecting formations can be combined. According to an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, it is provided that a circumferential line of the respective base area of the upwardly projecting formations extends from the tip directed counter to the drainage direction on both sides of the base area in each case a convex outwardly curved course to an end of the base area opposite the tip having. The end of the base surface that is aligned in the direction of the drainage direction and opposite the tip can also be tapered or at least tapered. In order to be able to form the largest possible contact surface in combination with the tapered ends of the projecting formations, with which mechanical loads on the floor covering arrangement can be transferred, the width of the formations between the two ends is increased. Due to the convex, outwardly curved course, despite the widening of the formations in a central area, the lowest possible flow resistance is generated along the drainage direction.
Due to a base surface that tapers in both directions and possibly also has a point, the drainage mat according to the invention can be laid in two orientations relative to a downward slope direction and in both orientations an advantageously rapid and efficient drainage or drainage of liquid accumulating on the drainage mat make possible.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, it is provided that the respective base area of the upwardly projecting formations has a teardrop-shaped or lens-shaped contour. The upwardly projecting formations can also have a cigar-shaped or an elliptical base area. The individual formations are expediently distributed in a matrix form in several rows and, if necessary, in several columns over the carrier layer. An alignment of a longest distance line from opposite sections of a circumferential line of the base expediently provides a particularly advantageous alignment of the drainage mat laid on the slope. The drainage mat can therefore be laid on the slope in two different, opposite directions and enable an efficient drainage effect in both orientations.
With regard to the highest possible compressive strength of the carrier layer, or the highest possible mechanical load that can be supported with the carrier layer relative to the substrate, it is advantageously optionally provided that a section of a side wall surface of the upwardly projecting formations is between a counter the first end directed in the drainage direction and a second end directed in the drainage direction has a profiling extending from the base surface upwards towards the support surface with teeth directed in the drainage direction or with a wave-shaped course in the drainage direction. The teeth directed in the direction of drainage form a scale-like profiling of the side wall and the profiling enables the support of large mechanical loads coming from above affect the floor covering arrangement. At the same time, the toothing directed in the drainage direction or the scale-like profiling of the side wall surface does not generate any significant flow resistance and the drainage effect for the liquid that collects on the carrier layer between the projecting formations in the spaces formed between them and flows out along the drainage direction is not or at least hardly significant reduced.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, it is provided that the profiling extending from the base surface upwards in the direction of the support surface has a greater distance from the nearest tip of the upwardly projecting formation as the distance from the base surface increases. The profiling runs from the base upwards towards a central region of the base and is therefore inclined towards the center or in steps towards the center. Due to the oblique or step-like profiling, the mechanical strength of the upwardly projecting formations can be additionally increased and improved, particularly in the event of a load acting vertically from above.
Advantageously, it is optionally provided that the carrier layer is a plastic film and the upwardly projecting formations are formed in the plastic film by a deep-drawing process. The plastic film can have a film thickness of less than one millimeter to several millimeters. Such a carrier layer can be produced inexpensively and with Formations projecting at the top can be provided. Various plastic materials are known from practice that are suitable for producing such a carrier layer and, on the one hand, allow low manufacturing costs and, on the other hand, can support large mechanical loads. It is also conceivable that the carrier layer is made from a metal foil or from a plastic composite material. A carrier layer made from several interconnected layers made of different materials is also fundamentally suitable.
The support layer fixed on the support surface formed by the top sides of the projecting formations can be a suitable textile material or a suitable fiber fleece. It is also possible for the support layer to be a sufficiently close-meshed grid made of plastic or metal. The support layer can advantageously be glued to the top sides of the projecting formations. It is also possible for the support layer to be embedded in a melted top side of the projecting formations or to be connected to it in a fluid manner. Other methods are also conceivable with which the support layer can be connected to the tops of the projecting formations in a sufficiently durable or resilient manner and secured therein.
It has been shown that the support layer fixed on the upper sides of the projecting formations and the carrier layer provided with a number of projecting formations result in a comparatively stiffer and less flexible or hardly deformable composite is formed. Such a drainage mat has a comparatively high level of rigidity and can often not be adapted to an uneven surface or only with considerable effort. If the drainage mat does not rest fully on the uneven surface when the floor covering elements are subsequently laid on the drainage mat, large cavities can arise between the carrier layer and the uneven surface in which the drainage mat does not rest on the uneven surface. If the floor covering arrangement is subsequently loaded, the drainage mat would give way and be deformed towards the subsurface, which is associated with considerable additional mechanical stress on the floor covering arrangement.
Against this background, according to an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, it is provided that the carrier layer has flexibilization lines on the underside that run transversely to the drainage direction and have a smaller thickness of the carrier layer, which facilitate deformation of the carrier layer. In order to form the flexibilization lines in the carrier layer, for example, during an extrusion of the carrier layer with pressure-loaded rollers, the carrier layer can be compressed along the flexibilization lines and the carrier layer material can be displaced somewhat in the course of the flexibilization lines in order to specify a smaller thickness of the carrier layer along the flexibilization lines.
Alternatively or additionally, it is also conceivable that the carrier layer has flexibilization slots on the underside along or transversely to the drainage direction, which facilitate deformation of the carrier layer. The flexibility slots can be created during or after the production of the carrier layer with the projecting formations using a suitable milling device or knife. The flexibility slots can be arranged parallel or at a distance from the individual projecting formations and, for example, run between adjacent rows of formations. It is also possible for the flexibility slots to intersect or traverse the base surfaces of individual or all projecting formations. The flexibility lines can also have a curved or meandering course. It is also possible for flexibility lines or flexibility slots to run obliquely to the drainage direction.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the inventive concept, it is optionally provided that an adhesion-promoting coating is attached to the underside of the carrier layer. The adhesion-promoting coating can also be a textile material, a fleece or a mesh fabric. The adhesion-promoting coating can have recesses or a performance in order to enable the upwardly projecting formations to be filled from the underside with a suitable hardening material such as an adhesive or mortar material. The However, the adhesion-promoting coating can also be essentially impermeable to an adhesive or mortar material with which the carrier layer is to be secured and fixed to the substrate. The adhesion-promoting coating can also have flexibility slots to facilitate deformation of the carrier layer and thus of the drainage mat.
It has been shown that through a suitable design of the drainage mat and in particular through an advantageous shape of the upwardly projecting formations and their base area, a significantly higher drainage performance can be achieved than with conventional drainage mats. Studies have shown that three times higher drainage performance is possible with the drainage mat according to the invention. Effective drainage of a floor covering structure is particularly important in the area of barrier-free transitions in a building. On terrace doors or balcony doors that are almost floor-to-ceiling and do not have a raised threshold at the transition into the interior of the building, for example during storms, large amounts of precipitation that run down the building wall and especially on the door to the floor covering must be quickly drained away through the drainage mat unwanted penetration of moisture into the interior of the building can be reliably avoided, even in such problematic transition areas. The liquid running down to the drainage mat or penetrating from above can be drained along the drainage mat to drainage channels and floor drains, so that there is no need to worry about backflow.
