Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the technical field of doctor blade chambers for rotary flexographic printing units and more particularly to the device for fixing the doctor blades to the body of the doctor blade chambers.
  • Flexography is a rotary printing process that can be used on many supports, for example of the sheet or web type, cardboard or plastic material, and requiring the use of plates, or forms of printing, flexible and in relief.
  • a printing machine comprises several printing groups placed one after the other and each dedicated to a specific color.
  • Flexography is a rotary printing process that can be used on many supports and requires the use of plates, or printing forms, which are relatively flexible and in relief.
  • a printing unit comprises a plate cylinder, configured to carry the printing form, a screen cylinder or anilox cylinder, presenting on its surface a set of cells intended to collect ink in a quantity controlled by the volume of the cells, the anilox cylinder being configured to transfer the ink onto the plate, a doctor blade chamber, configured to fill the cells of the anilox cylinder, a pump, ensuring the routing of the ink from the ink reservoir to the doctor blade chamber, and a back pressure cylinder holding the media being printed against the plate cylinder.
  • each doctor blade chamber is fixed to the doctor blade chamber body by a fixing device comprising a clamp configured to press the doctor blade against a part of the doctor blade chamber body and fixing members. More specifically, the clamping flange is arranged to pinch and/or flatten and hold the doctor blade on the body, and is screwed onto the doctor blade chamber body by screwing members.
  • the squeegee is a long, sharp blade that is dangerous to handle, requiring a full-length applied attachment to a set of screw members to be attached to the doctor blade chamber body.
  • the document US-A-4453463 (see Fig.22) describes a device for fixing a doctor blade to a doctor blade chamber body according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the object of the present invention is to overcome all or part of the drawbacks described above so as to facilitate the handling of the blades during their installation and their replacement, and thus to minimize the risk of injury to operators, by proposing a fixing device adapted for the blades of doctor blade chambers making it possible to keep the screws in place during the replacement or the installation of the blade on the body of the doctor blade chamber.
  • the first fastening member comprises at least a first retaining section having an upper end and a lower end, a second section different from the first retaining section, and
  • the doctor blade can be put in place or changed without the fixing device being completely removed and then replaced, which avoids the loss of fixing members and limits the number of manipulations of the doctor blade. .
  • the second fixing member is unlocked and the flange is loosened.
  • the flange can remain held attached to the doctor blade body, so that it is possible to remove or put in place the doctor blade without having to completely remove the fastening device.
  • the operator's attention is focused solely on the doctor blade, which considerably reduces the risk of injury or incorrect positioning of the doctor blade on the doctor blade chamber body. Due to the simplified unblocking operations, there is no longer any need for several operators to set up or change a doctor blade.
