Description

The present invention relates to luggage comprising two shells and opening/closing means intended to position the two shells folded against each other so as to define an interior volume in the closed configuration of the luggage.

It relates more precisely to luggage in which one of the two shells, called the rear shell, has at least one carrying handle. In general, the carrying handle is arranged in the upper part of the rear shell which may also include, in the lower part, a system with wheels: for example a system having at least two wheels mounted at the lower lateral ends of the rear shell. Thus, in normal use of the luggage when it is closed and transported, the other shell, called the front shell, is the most visible. Consequently, it is usual to note that the exterior faces of the front hull bottoms of such luggage are distinguished using various more or less elegant and retractable devices, in particular stickers. The reason for these singularizations is not just decorative. It also allows the owner of such baggage to better recognize it, for example on a baggage reception conveyor belt, or to better appropriate it.

But such artifices or decorations are likely to damage the luggage itself.

Le document JP S58 196620 U décrit un bagage suivant le préambule de la revendication 1.The document JP S58 196620 U describes baggage according to the preamble of claim 1.

It may therefore be desired to provide baggage which makes it possible to overcome at least part of the aforementioned problems and constraints, in particular baggage which can be singled out without fear of being damaged.

Luggage is therefore proposed comprising two shells and opening/closing means intended to position the two shells folded against each other so as to define an interior volume in the closed configuration of the luggage, in which:
  • one of the two shells, called the rear shell, has at least one carrying handle, and
  • the other of the two shells, called the front shell, has on its exterior face a groove extending longitudinally in a main direction of the luggage and a single receiving strip, arranged at the bottom of the groove and extending over the entire surface of the bottom of the luggage. throat,
covered with removable fasteners extending freely into the groove over its entire length.

Thus, the groove and the single receiving strip cooperate to receive and protect all the desired elements capable of singling out the luggage without damaging it. Their longitudinal arrangement in a main direction of the luggage on the exterior face of the front shell makes it possible to improve the visibility of the decorative or distinctive element(s) that one wishes to attach. Given the removable fixing properties of the single receiving strip, any decorative or distinctive element with corresponding removable fixing elements does not risk damaging the luggage and is also easily replaceable without leaving a trace.

Optionally, said single receiving strip is itself fixed at the bottom of the groove by gluing.

Also optionally, luggage according to the invention may further comprise at least one identification strip attached or intended to be attached at the bottom of the groove against said single receiving strip, this identification strip having a fixing face covered with removable fixing elements complementary to the removable fixing elements of said single receiving strip and an opposite presentation face intended to be visible.

Also optionally, the removable fastening elements of the single receiver strip and the identification strip are mechanical fastening elements with textile hooks and loops.

Also optionally, the depth of the groove is dimensioned so as to remain greater than or equal to the combined thickness of said single receiving strip and of any of said at least one identification strip when these strips are fixed 'to each other by their complementary removable fixing elements.

Also optionally:
  • the front hull has a hull bottom, two side sides, an upper side and a lower side,
  • the groove and said at least one receiving strip extend continuously:
    • longitudinally in the exterior face of the hull bottom parallel to the lateral sides, and in the upper and lower sides up to the supporting periphery of the means opening/closing, or
    • laterally in the exterior face of the bottom of the hull parallel to the lower and upper sides, and in the side sides up to the supporting periphery of the opening/closing means.

Also optionally, each shell is rigid or deformable with shape memory.

Also optionally, the rear shell has a roller system in the lower part intended to be placed on the ground.

Also optionally, the front shell also includes a roller system in the lower part intended to be placed on the ground.

The invention will be better understood with the help of the description which follows, given solely by way of example and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • there figure 1 schematically represents in perspective the external appearance of luggage with two shells in open configuration, according to one embodiment of the invention,
  • there figure 2 schematically represented in perspective before the luggage of the figure 1 in closed configuration,
  • there Figure 3 is a partial perspective view from above of the closed luggage of the figure 2 ,
  • THE figures 4 and 5 are partial front perspective views of the closed luggage of the figure 2 , during two stages of fixing an identification strip, and
  • there Figure 6 is a front perspective view of the closed luggage of the figure 2 after installation of the identification strip of figures 5 and 6 .

Baggage 10 shown on the figure 1 is a suitcase with two shells 12 and 14 intended to be folded against each other using opening/closing means 16, 18 so as to define an essentially rectangular parallelepiped interior volume in the closed configuration of the suitcase 10. The latter is however illustrated in an open configuration on the figure 1 for reasons of clarity. Each shell 12 or 14 is itself of a general open rectangular parallelepiped shape, slightly rounded at the corners and represents approximately half of the interior volume of the suitcase 10. It can be rigid, for example in polycarbonate, or deformable with shape memory.

The opening/closing means 16, 18 are conventional and for example formed of a fabric strip with zipper 16 fixed along a first side to the open rounded rectangular periphery of one 12 of the shells and along on a second side to the open rounded rectangular periphery of the other of the shells. The zipper 16 can extend over three-quarters of the periphery of the shells 12 and 14, thus allowing them to pivot around a hinge formed by a portion 18 of the strip along which this zipper 16 is absent, for example on a large side of the suitcase 10.

The shell 12, called the rear shell, has a shell bottom 12A, two side sides 12B and 12C, an upper side 12D and a lower side 12E. It comprises a roller system 20, 22 in the lower part, in particular a double roller 20 under the lower left part of the bottom of the hull 12A (when we look at this bottom of the hull 12A from the outside of the rear hull 12), fixed in free rotation in a complete rolling device under the lower side 12E, and a double caster 22 under the lower right part of the bottom of the hull 12A (when we look at this bottom of the hull 12A from the outside of the rear hull 12), also fixed in free rotation in a complete rolling device under the lower side 12E. It also includes at least one carrying handle fixed in the upper part. In the example illustrated, it comprises a carrying handle 24 on its upper side 12D, intended to transport the suitcase 10 by lifting it, and a telescopic traction handle 26, intended to transport the suitcase 10 by pulling it and moving it by rolling on the ground. The telescopic traction handle 26 is mounted on two rods 28 sliding vertically (in the reference of the figure 1 ) in housings, not visible, fitted in the interior wall of the bottom of the hull 12A.

The shell 14, called the front shell, has a shell bottom 14A, two side sides 14B and 14C, an upper side 14D and a lower side 14E. It also includes a roller system 30, 32 in the lower part, in particular a double roller 30 under the lower left part of the bottom of the hull 14A (when we look at this bottom of the hull 14A from the outside of the hull front 14), fixed in free rotation in a complete rolling device under the lower side 14E, and a double caster 32 under the lower right part of the bottom of the hull 14A (when we look at this bottom of the hull 14A from the outside of the front hull 14), also fixed in free rotation in a complete rolling device under the lower side 14E.

In accordance with the invention, the front shell 14 comprises on its exterior face, more precisely formed by hollow molding on the exterior face of its bottom of the hull 14A, a groove 34 with a flat bottom extending longitudinally from its upper part to its lower part. According to an optional but advantageous embodiment, the groove 34 extends continuously longitudinally in the exterior face of the bottom of the shell 14A parallel to the lateral flanks 14B and 14C, as well as in the upper flank 14D and in the lower flank 14E up to their periphery carrying the zippered fabric strip 16.

En variante ne faisant pas partie de l'invention, la bande réceptrice 36 pourrait être subdivisée en plusieurs bandes réceptrices indépendamment collées en fond de gorge 34 sur toute sa longueur, toutes recouvertes d'éléments de fixation amovible s'étendant eux aussi sur toute la longueur de la gorge 34.Also in accordance with the invention, the front shell 14 comprises on its exterior face, arranged at the bottom of the groove 34, a single receiving strip 36, one face of which is fixed against the bottom of the groove. This single receiving strip 36 extends in the groove 34 over its entire length, in particular longitudinally in the exterior face of the bottom of the hull 14A parallel to the lateral flanks 14B and 14C, as well as in the upper flank 14D and in the lower flank 14E up to 'on their periphery. Its fixing at the bottom of the groove 34 is for example carried out by gluing, in particular using a powerful self-adhesive coating. The other side, free on the figure 1 , of the single receiving strip 36 is covered with removable fixing elements, for example male or female removable mechanical fixing elements such as textile hooks or loops. These removable fixing elements also extend over the entire length of the groove 34. As a variant not forming part of the invention, the receiving strip 36 could be subdivided into several receiving strips independently glued to the bottom of the groove 34 over the entire length of the groove 34. its length, all covered with removable fixing elements also extending over the entire length of the groove 34.

Two identification bands 38 and 40 are further illustrated on the figure 1 . Each of them is intended to be attached at the bottom of the groove 34 against the free face of the single receiving strip 36 to be fixed there removably, as indicated by the two arrows of the figure 1 . For this purpose, each identification strip 38 or 40 has an interior fixing face 38A or 40A, covered with removable fixing elements complementary to those of the single receiving strip 36, for example female or male mechanical fixing elements removable such as textile loops or hooks. Each identification strip 38 or 40 also has an opposite exterior presentation face 38B or 40B intended to be visible and customizable by its pattern. Thus, the presentation face 38B of the strip identification strip 38 is distinguished by its circle pattern, while the presentation face 40B of the identification strip 40 is distinguished by its striped pattern. Of course, the patterns can be personalized as desired. Likewise, the materials, fabrics or others, which can be used to constitute the identification strip(s) are multiple. They are preferably flexible so that the identification strips can adapt to the general shape of the bottom of the groove 34. Each identification strip 38 or 40 can also be made up of two strips attached one against the other by gluing or seam, one to form the fixing face, the other to form the presentation face.

Advantageously, the depth of the groove 34 is dimensioned so as to remain greater than the thickness of the single receiving strip 36, including the removable fixing elements with which it is covered. Thus, it fulfills a protective function ensuring the durability of the single receiving strip 36 as a removable fixing surface for identification strips.

Optionally, the depth of the groove 34 can even be dimensioned so as to remain greater than or equal to the combined thickness of the single receiving strip 36 and any one of the identification strips 38, 40 when these two strips 36 and 38 or 36 and 40 are fixed to each other by their complementary removable fixing elements. Thus, it fulfills a protective function, not only of the single receiving strip 36, but also of each identification strip that can be fixed against it.

According to this view, the exterior face of the bottom of the shell 14A of the front shell 14 is clearly visible, which is generally the case in normal use of the suitcase 10. In particular, the groove 34 and the single receiving strip 36 are visible over most of their length which exploits the largest dimension of the suitcase 10. They are also offset laterally relative to the main longitudinal axis of the bottom of the hull 14A, so as to be located according to an arbitrary choice in the vicinity of the right lateral flank 14C.

There Figure 3 is a partial perspective view from above of the suitcase 10. It can be seen that the groove 34 and the single receiving strip 36 also extend in the upper side 14D of the front shell 14 to the periphery, i.e. that is to say up to the vicinity of the zippered headband 16. By symmetry, the same can be true under the suitcase 10, that is to say in the lower side 14E of the front hull 14.

A non-limiting example of an operating mode for the removable fixation of one of the identification strips 38 and 40 against the single receiving strip 36 will now be detailed with reference to the figures 4 to 6 .

As illustrated on the Figure 4 , a first end 42 of the identification strip 38 or 40 is attached against the free face of the single receiving strip 36. Fixing operates by cooperation of the male and female removable mechanical fixing elements. Advantageously, the identification strip 38 or 40 is precisely arranged so that its first end 42 enters well into the lateral limits of the groove 34 as formed in the upper side 14D.

As illustrated on the figure 5 , the removable fixing of the identification strip 38 or 40 continues in the bottom of the shell 14A, placing it progressively from top to bottom against the free face of the single receiving strip 36. Also advantageously, the strip of identification 38 or 40 is precisely arranged so that it enters well within the lateral limits of the groove 34 as formed in the bottom of the hull 14A.

The removable fixing of the identification strip 38 or 40 continues up to under the suitcase 10 in the lower side 14E (not visible). If the fixing steps as illustrated in the figures 4 and 5 have been correctly and precisely carried out, the correct positioning of the second end of the identification strip 38 or 40 in the lateral limits of the groove 34 as formed in the lower side 14E is done naturally and simply without any particular precautions. This results in the suitcase 10 with identification strip as illustrated in front perspective on the Figure 6 .

It clearly appears that luggage such as that described above can be personalized as desired without risk of damage. A single suitcase can be associated with several different interchangeable identification strips, each of which can be selected from a wide choice or even uniquely designed.

It should also be noted that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, but is defined by the claims.

Thus, the removable fastening elements presented previously as mechanical fastening elements with textile hooks and loops could alternatively be for example male and female elements with snaps.

Also alternatively, the groove 34 and the single receiving strip 36 could extend laterally in the exterior face of the bottom of the hull 14A, parallel on the lower flanks 14E and upper 14D, and in the lateral flanks 14B, 14C up to the supporting periphery of the opening/closing means 16, 18.

The suitcase 10 could also alternatively be replaced by any other luggage generally comprising two shells and opening/closing means intended to position the two shells folded against each other so as to define an interior volume in the closed configuration of the luggage, in which one of the two shells, called the rear shell, has at least one carrying handle in the upper part.
