Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of limb protectors, in particular the shin guards or forearm protectors, in particular for sporting activities in the field of skiing (especially in ski racing, downhill, giant slalom and slalom), in inline sports, in hockey, American football or in others Sports in which limbs must be protected.
  • Limb protectors typically provide fasteners for securing the saver to the user's limb.
  • these are usually conventional hook-and-loop fastener systems, as are known from the field of orthopedic arm and leg splints. These allow the user, depending on the width of the limb and at will to tie the schooner different tight.
  • the disadvantage here is that in order to achieve an enlargement or narrowing, the hook and loop mechanism must in each case be completely loosened, newly created and re-fixed according to the desired degree of fastening. By removing the entire schooner, it must be repositioned to the respective limb, which requires two hands and is time consuming.
  • Detent buckles are known, for example, in motorbike shoes, as disclosed in WO 2012/111033 A1, or also in helmets or snowboard bindings.
  • US 5,370,133 discloses the use of buckles in an orthopedic leg splint.
  • a one-handed operation, especially a one-handed adjustment or adjustment of the support width is to be made possible.
  • a limb saver (hereinafter referred to as "schooner") with a formed on the basis of a hard plastic or metal saver element.
  • Preferred materials are composite or fiber composites, thermoplastics, e.g. Polyamides (PA), Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE).
  • PA Polyamides
  • PP Polypropylene
  • PE Polyethylene
  • the saver element has a concave back formed curved at right angles to a longitudinal axis of the limb protector, which has an interior space for receiving the limb of a user, e.g. of the tibial or forearm region, partially occluded, as well as a convex obverse.
  • the saver element is designed as a substantially curved only in one direction surface on the concave back of the limb of the user comes to rest, and the convex front assumes the protective function.
  • the schooner according to the invention has at least one closing device for the detachable and size-adjustable fastening of the schooner element to the limb of the user.
  • the closing device is designed for selective continuous or incremental adjustment of a carrying width of the guard element in a circumferential direction on a limb of the user. Under carrying is here essentially the length of the circumference of the schooner in use to understand, i. in a state attached to the limb of the user, measured in the circumferential direction substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis of the saver.
  • the schooner according to the invention is preferably a shin guard or a forearm protector.
  • the core of the invention is that the closing device has a latching closure, a ratchet closure or a clamp closure, or that the closing device is a latching closure, a ratchet closure or a clamp closure.

  • the closing device in particular, when the closing device is a snap closure or ratchet closure, has a means for securing against an unwanted opening of the closing device.
  • This means for securing against the unwanted opening or unlocking of the closing device may for example be a triggering element, which must be actively actuated in order to release the closure.
  • This may be, for example, two arranged on the buckle, opposing lateral tabs, which unlock the locking device only when they are simultaneously actuated.
  • the unlocking or releasing the closing device or the closure can For example, be achieved by, if appropriate, only by pressing the trigger element, the tongue is released. But the removal of the clamping or locking action can also be done simply by tilting the clamping or locking lever in a direction opposite to the clamping direction.

According to a preferred embodiment, the closure is completely released by triggering the trigger element at once by the tongue is completely released from the buckle.
  • An alternative embodiment includes a ratchet closure in which actuation of the ratchet in a first direction causes a stepwise narrowing, and actuation of the ratchet in a second direction opposite the first direction causes a gradual extension of the carrying width and the circumference of the saver.
  • a closing device can be provided, which allows a continuous adjustment of the carrying width.
  • both the narrowing and the widening of the carrying width can take place continuously, depending on which position along the longitudinal axis of the clamping tongue it is clamped by the clamping lever.
  • the tongue can here so, if the clamping lever is released, be pulled or pushed in both directions through the buckle.
  • the carrying width is here measured when the schooner or closed closing device on the limb of the user measured circumference along the extension direction of the tongue or the adjusting band parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tongue, and with respect to the longitudinal axis of the saver on the axial height of the buckle.
  • the tongue is connected by means of a first fastening tab in the region of one of the two side edges with the saver element.
  • the tongue may be attached to the fastening tab, e.g. by sewing, gluing, pressing, riveting, welding, injection, etc.
