Definitions
- the invention relates to a fitting for liquid gas bottles and a method for refilling with liquid gas.
- FR55136E reveals a fitting for a liquid gas bottle.
- a gas cylinder is a pressure vessel, usually made of metal, usually steel, for the transport and storage of pressurized gases.
- a pressure vessel usually made of metal, usually steel, for the transport and storage of pressurized gases.
- Such a bottle can have a volume of more than 100 liters.
- the nominal pressure can be several hundred bar.
- Liquid gas cylinders contain gases such as LPG in liquefied form. Common gases are ethane, propane, butane and mixtures thereof. These gases can be liquefied at room temperature using comparatively low pressure.
- the liquid gas content of such cylinders is usually between 3 and 33 kg.
- the height of such liquid gas bottles is usually between 420 mm and 1290 mm.
- the bottle diameter is typically between 200 mm and 318 mm.
- Liquefied gas bottles are closed with a fitting to which, usually in conjunction with a pressure reducer, a suitable hose can be screwed on for the controlled removal of their contents. Furthermore, in the case of liquid gas bottles there is a safety valve in the extraction fitting, which limits the permissible excess pressure in the bottle to, for example, approx. 30 bar in order to prevent it from bursting.
- a fitting of such a liquid gas bottle has a side connection piece as a gas tap, which is used on the one hand for filling and on the other hand for removal. Lines are screwed onto this gas tap manually both when withdrawing and when refilling.
- the side connection piece When the gas tap is open, the side connection piece is connected to an opening on the underside of the fitting in a gas-conducting manner. This underside with the opening is located above the liquid level when a liquid gas bottle is set up. When gas is removed, the gas that is in the gaseous state above the liquid level is removed.
- Liquefied gas bottles are used to operate gas stoves, gas cookers, gas grills, gas heaters or gas heaters. Is the contents of a liquid gas bottle consumed, LPG cylinders are returned by the consumer to the point of sale of LPG cylinders for refilling. After a liquid gas bottle has been returned in this way, it is transported from the point of sale to a central filling system or filling station.
- An advantageous method for refilling includes the features of the secondary claim.
- a fitting according to the claim comprises a gas tap for gas extraction and an opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle.
- the opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle can be connected in a gas-conducting manner, in particular by opening a valve, to a tubular or tubular line of the fitting, which can extend at least 300 mm, preferably at least 400 mm, into a liquid gas bottle if the fitting is connected to such a gas bottle .
- This ensures that the line can extend into the liquefied part of the gas, which above all enables very rapid emptying by pumping it out. It is necessary to empty it if a refilled gas bottle turns out to be leaking. This results in a speed advantage.
- the fitting there is an opening at the bottom of the fitting adjacent to the tubular or tubular line.
- the bottom is the side that is adjacent to the LPG bottle or is completely inside the bottle or bottle neck if the fitting is connected to a LPG bottle.
- This opening on the underside can be connected to the gas tap in a gas-conducting manner, usually by turning a corresponding rotary handle.
- the tubular or tubular line protrudes from this opening, preferably by at least 200 mm, particularly preferably by at least 300 mm.
- the tubular or tubular line is therefore preferably so long that it extends to the bottom of a gas bottle connected to the fitting. As a rule, this cable is therefore no longer than 1290 mm.
- the opening for refilling the liquid gas bottle is advantageously arranged on the top of the fitting. This makes refilling easier because a liquid gas bottle does not have to be aligned for refilling. In particular, automatic refilling in an automated filling station is possible with little technical effort.
- the gas tap through which the gas is withdrawn for consumption, preferably protrudes laterally from the fitting.
- the gas tap can preferably be opened and closed using a rotary handle or handwheel.
- the handwheel is advantageously arranged around the feed for refilling. For example, a nut with a spindle is operated using the handwheel in such a way that a body intended for this purpose can be moved up and down. This opens or closes the gas tap.
- the opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle can be opened and closed by a valve. This makes refilling easier and faster, as a liquid pressure can be enough to open the valve for refilling.
- the valve preferably comprises a valve body which is pressed into its closed valve position by a preloaded spring. This helps to be able to open the valve for refilling using liquid pressure alone. In addition, emptying by pumping out is made easier because the valve can be opened through a nozzle or a mandrel of a suction head by connecting the suction head to the opening provided for this purpose. It can then be vacuumed immediately, which makes automated refilling possible, which can even be carried out by an end user, taking into account the increased safety effort that is then required.
- the valve body is preferably a hollow cylinder that includes side openings.
- the valve body can then advantageously be part of the line via which liquid gas is fed into the bottle for refilling or via which liquid gas is sucked out for emptying.
- the valve body is preferably provided with a circumferential, replaceable sealing ring, which closes the valve in a liquid and gas-tight manner when closed. In the event of a leak, replacing the sealing ring is usually sufficient to restore the functionality of the fitting.
- the sealing ring when the valve is closed, the sealing ring is pressed against a conical transition which connects a tubular section with a tubular section which is widened in relation to the latter.
- a closing element in particular in the form of a hollow cylindrical section, is present, which interrupts a gas-conducting connection between the gas tap and the opening on the underside of the fitting, into which gas from a connected liquid gas bottle can flow, when the valve body is in its open state position is moved. In the event of emptying by pumping, this ensures that liquid is pumped out and not gas, which would delay the emptying.
- the hollow cylindrical section is preferably a section of the line that connects the gas tap with an opening on the underside of the fitting into which gas from a connected liquid gas bottle can flow. This reduces the technical effort involved in manufacturing and also enables a compact design.
- the opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle is preferably funnel-shaped to facilitate connection to a filling head or suction head by centering.
- the fitting is advantageously designed in such a way that either gas can be removed via the gas tap or refilling or emptying can take place via the opening provided for this purpose. It cannot then be refilled at the same time and at the same time gas can be taken out via the gas tap. This avoids risks during gas withdrawal or refilling.
- a further gas extraction option preferably via a quick coupling.
- a hose can be connected to this additional gas extraction option for permanent, fundamentally unregulated gas extraction.
- This additional gas extraction option is intended for balloonists to be able to permanently supply a flame with gas.
- This flame serves, for example, as a pilot flame. This flame basically only requires a small amount of gas. It will be like this: B. prevents excessive gas from being consumed by turning the handwheel for the pilot flame too high. If a quick coupling is provided, gas extraction can only be made possible by connecting a corresponding coupling piece. This prevents accidental opening.
- burst protection device that is destroyed if the internal pressure is excessively high in order to allow gas to escape in a controlled manner and thus reduce an internal pressure that is too high.
- the Figure 1 shows a sectional view of a fitting 1 for a gas bottle.
- a gas tap 2 with an external thread that projects laterally, namely horizontally, from a standing gas bottle (not shown) when the fitting 1 is connected to a gas bottle as intended.
- the line of a gas consumer such as a gas grill, can be screwed onto the gas tap 2 to remove gas.
- the funnel-shaped opening 3 In addition to the laterally projecting nozzle 2, there is a funnel-shaped opening 3 into the fitting 1 at the top.
- the funnel-shaped opening 3 leading upwards serves as a central filling and suction point.
- the funnel-shaped mouth or opening 3 is connected to a filling head or suction head of a gas filling station.
- An externally accessible upper area of the outer wall of the central filling point has two circumferential grooves 4 to enable a positive grip with complementary shaped grippers of a filling head or suction head.
- a positive connection can be created between the outer wall with the grooves 4 and a suction head or filling head during the filling or suctioning of gas in order to prevent an unplanned loosening of a head during the filling or emptying of a gas bottle.
- a sealing ring 5 is held in the funnel-shaped opening 3 by a corresponding circumferential groove. A filling head or suction head is pressed against this sealing ring 5 during filling or emptying.
- a hollow cylindrical valve body 6 has a sealing ring 7 in a lower region, which is held in a corresponding circumferential groove of the valve body 6.
- the valve body 6 is biased towards the opening 4 by a spring 8.
- the sealing ring 7 is pressed against a conical transition 9 to close the valve.
- Access via the opening 4 into the fitting 1 is then as in the Figure 1 shown, sealed gas-tight and liquid-tight and more reliable and durable compared to that from the publication DE 43 34 182 A1 well-known ball valve of the central filling point. If the valve leaks due to fatigue, it is usually sufficient to simply replace the sealing ring 9.
- valve body 6 is in the closed state of the valve as in the Figure 1 shown predominantly in a tubular section 10, the inside diameter of which corresponds to the outside diameter of the valve body 6. The valve body 6 is therefore guided through this tubular section 10.
- the spring 8 is located in a tubular section 10 which is widened in comparison.
- the tubular section 10 is connected by the conical transition 9 to a tubular section 11 which is widened in comparison thereto.
- the inner diameter of the widened section 11 is slightly larger than the diameter of the spring 8. The widened section 11 therefore serves, among other things, the hold and guidance of the spring 8 when it is further tensioned to open the valve.
- the hollow cylindrical valve body 6 is closed at the lower end with a rod 12.
- the rod 12 extends into a cylinder 13.
- the inside diameter of the cylinder 13 is larger than the outside diameter of the rod 12, so that a free space 14 remains between the cylinder 13 and the rod 12.
- valve body 6 The end of the hollow cylindrical valve body 6 opposite the rod 12 is open.
- valve body 6 has lateral openings 15 in the vicinity of the rod 12, which are connected to its interior in a gas-conducting manner or lead into its interior. If the valve body 6 is pressed downwards by fluid pressure or mechanically until the side openings 15 reach the widened section 11, the valve is open. The show the open state of the valve Figures 2 and 3 .
- a rotary handle 16 also called a handwheel.
- the cylinder 13 can be moved back and forth between a closed position and an open position.
- the Figure 1 shows the closed position of the cylinder 13.
- a sealing ring 17 at the lower end of the cylinder 13 is then pressed against a slope 18 for closure. This closure is canceled by moving the cylinder upwards by turning the rotary handle 16 accordingly.
- the Figure 4 shows the open position of cylinder 13.
- the cylinder 13 is sealed by sealing rings 19 from a section 21 of the housing wall of the fitting 1.
- cylinder 13 is sealed by sealing rings 20 relative to a cylindrical lower section 22 of the rotary handle 16.
- the sealing rings 19 and 20 prevent gas from escaping from the fitting.
- the rotary handle 16 is held rotatably by a ball bearing 23.
- a cap 24 is screwed onto the housing section 21 so as to rotatably connect the rotary handle 16 to the housing section 21.
- the fitting 1 has two openings 25 and 26 on the underside (see in particular the three-dimensional representation of the Figure 5 ).
- This underside is located in the gas bottle or in the bottle neck when the fitting is properly connected to a gas bottle.
- the opening 25 is located at the lower end of a tubular or tubular line 27 at the bottom of a correspondingly connected gas bottle. After opening the valve with the valve body 6, the gas bottle is filled with gas or liquid gas is sucked out via this opening 25. Gas is removed from the bottle via the other opening 26 for consumption by a consumer connected to the gas tap 2, namely after opening the gas tap by turning the rotary handle 16 accordingly.
- the opening 26 is connected to an inner opening 28 in a gas-conducting manner.
- the lower end of the rod 12 is adjoined by a connected hollow cylindrical section 29, which is provided with an opening 30 in the transition area between the rod 12 and section 29. If the valve body 6 is pressed downwards, the hollow cylindrical section 29 is pressed against a sealing ring 31, which is located at the lower end of a guide 32.
- valve 1 shows the case that valve 1 is closed. Suctioning or filling is not possible because the valve is closed. Gas extraction via the gas tap 2 is not possible because this is prevented by pressing the sealing ring 17 against the slope 18, so the gas tap is closed.
- the Figure 2 illustrates the filling via the fitting 1.
- the side connection 2 is closed and the funnel-shaped opening 4 is connected to a filling head, not shown, which is pressed liquid-tight against the sealing ring 5 in the funnel-shaped opening 3.
- a gas-conducting connection between the gas tap and the opening 26 on the underside is interrupted. It is now liquid gas according to of the arrow 33 is pumped into the funnel-shaped opening 3.
- the valve body 6 is pressed downward until the hollow cylindrical section 29 is pressed against the sealing ring 31.
- the side openings 15 of the valve body 6 are now located in the widened tubular section 11.
- the liquid gas pumped in along the arrow 33 can now exit from the openings 15 of the valve body 6 into the widened tubular section 11.
- the liquid gas can flow around the lower section of the valve body 6, as the arrows 34 illustrate.
- the liquid gas flows into the space 14 between the rod 12 and the housing section 21 and thus reaches the tubular or tubular line 27 as shown by the arrows 35 and 36.
- the liquid gas then emerges from the fitting 1 according to arrow 37 and thus reaches the bottom of a gas bottle, not shown, to which the fitting 1 is attached.
- the Figure 2 clarifies that the hollow cylindrical section 29 has a smaller outer diameter 38 in an upper region, in the case of Figure 2 to create such a distance from the adjacent inner housing wall in such a way that a gas flow according to arrow 36 is possible.
- valve body 6 For suction or emptying, the valve body 6 is pressed down mechanically by a mandrel or nozzle of a suction head placed on the funnel 3. Liquid gas can then be sucked off according to arrows 39 to 43, as in the Figure 3 shown. Since suction is carried out from the ground due to the hose or pipe 27, this ensures that liquefied gas is removed and no gaseous atmosphere above the liquid level in the gas bottle. A liquid gas bottle can therefore be pumped out particularly quickly and with little effort.
- the Figure 4 shows the fitting 1 in the open state of the gas tap 2 and in the closed state of the valve.
- the gas tap 2 is open because the valve body 6 is in its closed position and the cylinder 13 is moved upwards by turning the unit 16 and therefore the sealing ring 17 has been removed from the slope 18.
- the gas which is above the liquid level in the liquid gas bottle, can now enter the opening 26 according to the arrow 44 and flow to the internal opening 28.
- the gas comes from the opening 28 according to the arrow 45 into the interior of the hollow cylindrical section 29.
- the gas then exits via the opening 30 at the upper end of the hollow cylindrical section 29 and enters the intermediate space 14 according to the arrow representation 46. Since there is now a distance between the sealing ring 17 and the bevel 18, the gas can flow further into the connection of the gas tap 2 according to the arrow representation 47 and from here can be passed on to the consumer according to the arrow 48.
- the refill procedure also includes emptying in the event a gas leak is detected. Emptying in particular can be done particularly quickly because liquid is pumped out and not gas.

Description
The invention relates to a fitting for liquid gas bottles and a method for refilling with liquid gas.
A gas cylinder is a pressure vessel, usually made of metal, usually steel, for the transport and storage of pressurized gases. Such a bottle can have a volume of more than 100 liters. The nominal pressure can be several hundred bar.
Common gases are ethane, propane, butane and mixtures thereof. These gases can be liquefied at room temperature using comparatively low pressure. The liquid gas content of such cylinders is usually between 3 and 33 kg. The height of such liquid gas bottles is usually between 420 mm and 1290 mm. The bottle diameter is typically between 200 mm and 318 mm.
Liquefied gas bottles are closed with a fitting to which, usually in conjunction with a pressure reducer, a suitable hose can be screwed on for the controlled removal of their contents. Furthermore, in the case of liquid gas bottles there is a safety valve in the extraction fitting, which limits the permissible excess pressure in the bottle to, for example, approx. 30 bar in order to prevent it from bursting.
Typically, a fitting of such a liquid gas bottle has a side connection piece as a gas tap, which is used on the one hand for filling and on the other hand for removal. Lines are screwed onto this gas tap manually both when withdrawing and when refilling. When the gas tap is open, the side connection piece is connected to an opening on the underside of the fitting in a gas-conducting manner. This underside with the opening is located above the liquid level when a liquid gas bottle is set up. When gas is removed, the gas that is in the gaseous state above the liquid level is removed.
Liquefied gas bottles are used to operate gas stoves, gas cookers, gas grills, gas heaters or gas heaters. Is the contents of a liquid gas bottle consumed, LPG cylinders are returned by the consumer to the point of sale of LPG cylinders for refilling. After a liquid gas bottle has been returned in this way, it is transported from the point of sale to a central filling system or filling station.
It is the object of the invention to reduce the technical effort required for refilling gas bottles.
The object of the invention is achieved by a fitting with the features of the main claim. Advantageous refinements result from the dependent claims. An advantageous method for refilling includes the features of the secondary claim.
To solve the problem, a fitting according to the claim comprises a gas tap for gas extraction and an opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle. The opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle can be connected in a gas-conducting manner, in particular by opening a valve, to a tubular or tubular line of the fitting, which can extend at least 300 mm, preferably at least 400 mm, into a liquid gas bottle if the fitting is connected to such a gas bottle . This ensures that the line can extend into the liquefied part of the gas, which above all enables very rapid emptying by pumping it out. It is necessary to empty it if a refilled gas bottle turns out to be leaking. This results in a speed advantage.
Die schlauchförmige oder rohrförmige Leitung steht gegenüber dieser Öffnung vor und zwar vorzugsweise wenigstens um 200 mm, besonders bevorzugt wenigstens um 300 mm.Basically, there is an opening at the bottom of the fitting adjacent to the tubular or tubular line. The bottom is the side that is adjacent to the LPG bottle or is completely inside the bottle or bottle neck if the fitting is connected to a LPG bottle. This opening on the underside can be connected to the gas tap in a gas-conducting manner, usually by turning a corresponding rotary handle. The tubular or tubular line protrudes from this opening, preferably by at least 200 mm, particularly preferably by at least 300 mm.
This ensures that gas can be removed above the liquid level via the gas tap and is therefore immediately available in the form in which the gas is required in the event of consumption.
The tubular or tubular line is therefore preferably so long that it extends to the bottom of a gas bottle connected to the fitting. As a rule, this cable is therefore no longer than 1290 mm.
The opening for refilling the liquid gas bottle is advantageously arranged on the top of the fitting. This makes refilling easier because a liquid gas bottle does not have to be aligned for refilling. In particular, automatic refilling in an automated filling station is possible with little technical effort.
The gas tap, through which the gas is withdrawn for consumption, preferably protrudes laterally from the fitting. The gas tap can preferably be opened and closed using a rotary handle or handwheel. The handwheel is advantageously arranged around the feed for refilling. For example, a nut with a spindle is operated using the handwheel in such a way that a body intended for this purpose can be moved up and down. This opens or closes the gas tap.
In one embodiment, the opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle can be opened and closed by a valve. This makes refilling easier and faster, as a liquid pressure can be enough to open the valve for refilling.
The valve preferably comprises a valve body which is pressed into its closed valve position by a preloaded spring.
The valve body is preferably a hollow cylinder that includes side openings. The valve body can then advantageously be part of the line via which liquid gas is fed into the bottle for refilling or via which liquid gas is sucked out for emptying.
The valve body is preferably provided with a circumferential, replaceable sealing ring, which closes the valve in a liquid and gas-tight manner when closed. In the event of a leak, replacing the sealing ring is usually sufficient to restore the functionality of the fitting.
In an advantageous embodiment, when the valve is closed, the sealing ring is pressed against a conical transition which connects a tubular section with a tubular section which is widened in relation to the latter. This configuration makes it possible to use the two tubular sections as a supply line in order to be able to produce them compactly with little technical effort.
In one embodiment, a closing element, in particular in the form of a hollow cylindrical section, is present, which interrupts a gas-conducting connection between the gas tap and the opening on the underside of the fitting, into which gas from a connected liquid gas bottle can flow, when the valve body is in its open state position is moved. In the event of emptying by pumping, this ensures that liquid is pumped out and not gas, which would delay the emptying.
The hollow cylindrical section is preferably a section of the line that connects the gas tap with an opening on the underside of the fitting into which gas from a connected liquid gas bottle can flow. This reduces the technical effort involved in manufacturing and also enables a compact design.
The opening for refilling a liquid gas bottle is preferably funnel-shaped to facilitate connection to a filling head or suction head by centering.
The fitting is advantageously designed in such a way that either gas can be removed via the gas tap or refilling or emptying can take place via the opening provided for this purpose. It cannot then be refilled at the same time and at the same time gas can be taken out via the gas tap. This avoids risks during gas withdrawal or refilling.
In one embodiment of the invention there is a further gas extraction option, preferably via a quick coupling. For example, a hose can be connected to this additional gas extraction option for permanent, fundamentally unregulated gas extraction. This additional gas extraction option is intended for balloonists to be able to permanently supply a flame with gas. This flame serves, for example, as a pilot flame.
In one embodiment, there is a burst protection device that is destroyed if the internal pressure is excessively high in order to allow gas to escape in a controlled manner and thus reduce an internal pressure that is too high.
