Definitions
- the present invention relates to a dispenser system for wet wipes and to a method for producing the dispenser system.
- Dispenser systems for wipes are known, for example from the international patent application WO 2008/122961 A1 .
- the dispenser known from WO'961 can have a perforation in the packaging material in order to form a removal opening. If the dispenser contains wet wipes and a film laminate is used as the packaging material, the packaging material may be impaired in the case of the dispenser from WO'961. Because if the wet wipes come into contact with the perforation, liquid can penetrate the film laminate and impair both its appearance and its cohesion. The appearance and cohesion of the film laminate can be impaired by the dissolving of film prints and adhesives. If necessary, the dispenser can even leak if the wet wipes come into contact with the perforation.
- the EP 1 862 396 A1 and the US 6,702,109 B1 reveal hinged lids for wet wipes dispensers.
- the JP 2016-190655 A discloses a wet wipes dispenser with a resealable flap and an additional sealing film inside the dispenser.
- the sealing film is glued over the entire surface to the inside of the packaging material of the dispenser. The sealing film is torn with the tab when the dispenser is opened for the first time and, like the tab, remains on the dispenser even after it is opened for the first time.
- the present invention is based on the object of providing an improved dispenser system for wet wipes.
- the present invention is based on the object of providing a dispenser system for wet wipes which can be stored for a long period of time and is easy to use.
- the invention solves that Tasks with a dispenser system according to claim 1 and a method according to claim 14.
- the dispenser system comprises a stack with several wet wipes and packaging for the stack.
- the wipes contain a liquid or are moistened with a liquid, which is why they are referred to here as wet wipes.
- the packaging is designed as a film packaging and is intended in particular to protect the contents of the dispenser system, that is to say the wet wipes, from drying out and contamination.
- the packaging has several components.
- a film laminate made of at least two interconnected film layers is used as the primary packaging material.
- the film laminate envelops the stack.
- An inner film layer and an outer film layer are thereby formed.
- the inner film layer is that film layer of the laminate which forms the inside of the dispenser packaging and consequently can also contact the wet wipes.
- the outer film layer is that film layer of the laminate which forms the outside of the dispenser packaging. Further film layers can be present between the inner and the outer film layer if the film laminate consists of more than two film layers.
- the film laminate There is a perforation in the film laminate.
- This perforation creates a weakened area in the film laminate.
- the weakened area means the area of the film laminate which is delimited by the perforation and which can be detached from the film laminate when the film laminate is opened along the perforation.
- the packaging has a pull-off element as a further component.
- the pull-off element is arranged on the outer film layer, that is to say on the outside of the packaging, and is connected to the weakened area.
- the pull-off element is an aid and is used to be able to easily remove the weakened area from the film laminate manually.
- a removal opening is thereby formed in the film laminate. The removal opening grants access to the interior of the dispenser system so that the wet wipes can be removed from the dispenser system.
- the pull-off element is intended to be completely removed from the packaging when it is opened for the first time. When the release element is removed from the package, the film laminate opens along the perforation and the weakened area remains adhered to the release element.
- the packaging also includes a closure element.
- the closure element is arranged on the outer film layer, that is to say on the outside of the packaging, and is connected to the film laminate.
- the closure element is not connected to the weakened area and remains permanently on the packaging. This is because the closure element is used to essentially cover the removal opening again in an airtight manner when the dispenser system is not in use. This prevents the wet wipes from drying out and contamination after the dispenser system has been opened.
- a sealing film is present in the dispenser system.
- the sealing film is used to prevent the wet wipes from coming into direct contact with the perforation and to re-seal the entry port for liquid in the film laminate created by the perforation. This is achieved by arranging the sealing film between the stack and the inner film layer, that is to say the inside of the packaging, and thereby completely covering the perforation.
- the sealing film is connected to the weakened area. As a result, the sealing film can be removed together with the weakened area when the packaging is opened with the pull-off element.
- the advantage of the dispenser system according to the invention is that the sealing film can prevent the wet wipes from coming into contact with the perforation.
- the disadvantageous effects on the appearance and cohesion of the packaging material resulting from the contact of the wet wipes with the perforation can thus be avoided.
- the connection of the sealing film to the weakened area is particularly advantageous in the dispenser system according to the invention. As a result, the sealing film is pulled out of the dispenser system when the pull-off element is removed from the packaging and access to the wet wipes is made possible. No additional work step is required to remove the sealing film from the dispenser system. In addition, the sealing film is fixed by the connection with the weakened area in the dispenser system and secured against slipping. Due to the advantages mentioned, the dispenser system according to the invention can be stored for a long period of time and is easy to use. Further advantages result from the preferred embodiments described below.
- the stack can contain at least 10, preferably at least 20, more preferably at least 40, particularly preferably at least 60 and very particularly preferably at least 80 wet wipes. Typically, however, there are no more than 120 wet wipes in the stack. In particular, the stack contains 40 to 80 wet wipes. These quantities have proven to be suitable both by the manufacturer and by the user.
- the wet wipes are preferably designed to be absorbent.
- the absorption capacity refers to the towels when dry.
- the wipes can then be moistened more easily with liquid and hold it better.
- the wet wipes can comprise an absorbent fabric, an absorbent knitted fabric, an absorbent foam and / or an absorbent fleece.
- the wet wipes are absorbent nonwoven wipes.
- the advantages of the dispenser system come into play particularly when the wet wipes are moistened with a cleaning agent and / or a disinfectant.
- Cleaning agents and disinfectants often contain organic solvents, surfactants, oils, acids or alkalis, which can quickly break the cohesion of film laminates.
- the preferred area of application for the dispenser system described here is disinfection, the wet wipes then being moistened with a disinfectant, for example a surface disinfectant.
- the packaging is usually designed as a flow pack.
- a flowpack is a bag-like film packaging with a longitudinal seam and two transverse seams. Many commercially available tissue dispensers have this type of flowpack packaging. Flowpack packaging is also described many times in the patent literature, for example in the EP 1 346 917 A1 . Single-use flow packs are lightweight and generate a low volume of waste.
- the film laminate of the packaging preferably consists of two film layers connected to one another, which then form the inner and outer film layer according to the claims when the stack is wrapped.
- Such laminates are commercially available and are often used for wrapping wet wipes.
- a film laminate with more than two interconnected film layers can also be used.
- the film laminate can then consist of three, four or five interconnected film layers.
- the connection of the film layers can be established with an adhesive.
- the individual film layers of the film laminate can consist of a plastic or a metal.
- the film laminate can comprise only plastic films or both plastic films and metal foils. Suitable plastics are polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS) or polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH).
- a suitable metal is aluminum.
- the adhesive used to connect the film layers can be a solvent-based or solvent-free laminating adhesive.
- the inner film layer is preferably made of polyethylene and the outer film layer is made of polyethylene terephthalate.
- the inner film layer is preferably made of polyethylene
- the middle film layer is made of aluminum
- the outer film layer is made of polyethylene terephthalate.
- the perforation is typically designed as an incision or a punching.
- the perforation can penetrate the film laminate completely, reference being made to the thickness of the film laminate.
- Such a perforation is simple to implement in terms of process technology and enables the dispenser system with the pull-off element to be opened particularly easily.
- the perforation can only partially penetrate the film laminate, reference being made also to the thickness of the film laminate.
- the inner film layer can be perforated and the outer film layer can not be perforated. Further layers present between the inner and outer film layers can also be covered by the perforation.
- the outer film layer can be perforated and the inner film layer can not be perforated. Further layers present between the inner and outer film layers can also be covered by the perforation in the second variant.
- partial perforation the intention is that the perforation does not penetrate the film laminate over its entire thickness and that at least one film layer - either the outer (first variant) or the inner (second variant) film layer - remains intact.
- the perforation which only partially penetrates the film laminate The barrier properties of the film laminate are less affected. Nevertheless, the dispenser system can still be opened with the pull-off element.
- Machines and methods for producing such a partial perforation are known. For example, laser cutting processes or kiss-cut processes can be used (in the case of a kiss-cut process, the perforation is then also referred to here as a "kiss-cut perforation"). If necessary, procedural inaccuracies can inadvertently lead to perforation or damage (“scratching”) to that film layer that is actually intended to remain intact.
- the perforation is normally designed as a circumferential dividing line.
- a circumferential dividing line delimits an area (the area is the weakened area in the present case) and can also be implemented with dashed or dotted lines.
- the perforation is then preferably designed as an essentially rectangular, circular or oval-shaped dividing line. Accordingly, a substantially rectangular, circular or oval-shaped removal opening is obtained when the pull-off element is removed from the packaging.
- the removal opening obtained with a rectangular dividing line can tear at the corners if necessary.
- the corners of the perforation are advantageously rounded (which should be understood as “essentially” rectangular).
- the perforation can advantageously be present in an upper side of the packaging, in particular centered in an upper side of the packaging.
- the removal opening is then also present in the top of the packaging.
- the pull-off element is usually an adhesive film.
- One side of the adhesive film has an adhesive coating, while the other side is non-adhesive.
- the side with the adhesive coating is used to arrange the adhesive film on the outside of the packaging and to connect it to the weakened area.
- the adhesive strength must be selected so that the dispenser system can be opened as described above.
- the adhesive film is designed as a sticker. This means that the adhesive film is printed, for example with information on the intended direction of removal. The handling of the dispenser system can thus be further improved.
- the pull-off element can be formed, for example, from a polyethylene or polypropylene film that is coated on one side with an acrylate-based adhesive.
- the closure element can be a hinged cover.
- the hinged cover usually also comprises a frame and a hinge-like connection. Hinged lids are robust and can be easily opened and closed again.
- the connection of the closure element and in particular the hinged lid to the outside of the packaging can be done with an adhesive, as in the case of the pull-off element.
- polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene can be considered as the material for the closure element.
- an essential feature of the dispenser system according to the invention is the sealing film.
- the sealing foil is only connected to the weakened area. In this way, the sealing film can easily be pulled out of the dispenser system.
- the sealing film and the weakened area can be connected with an adhesive, in which case this should advantageously be essentially insensitive to the liquid contained in the wet wipes. This can be the case with an acrylate-based adhesive.
- the adhesive can be applied point-like or flat to the weakened area and the sealing film can then be applied.
- the sealing film and the weakened area could, however, also be connected to one another with a piece of film that is adhesive on both sides or by welding.
- the sealing film is normally designed as a closed layer. There are therefore normally no holes or openings of any kind in the sealing film which could impair the sealing effect of the sealing film or make it difficult to connect the sealing film to the weakened area.
- the sealing film is usually designed to be flexible so that it can fit well against the packaging material.
- the sealing film is typically designed to be essentially liquid-impermeable.
- the sealing film is designed to be essentially impermeable to the liquid contained in the wet wipes. This can contain water and, in the case of disinfectants, also organic solvents, so that the sealing film is typically impermeable to water and / or organic solvents, in particular alcohols.
- the sealing film is inert to solvents and can be bonded with acrylate adhesives. The properties indicated above can be achieved if the sealing film is made of polyethylene or polyester (including polylactide).
- the sealing film must cover the perforation.
- the sealing film is typically made larger than the weakened area, with an edge region of the sealing film covering the perforation.
- the edge area of the sealing film always overlaps the perforation by at least 1 cm, in particular always by at least 1.5 cm.
- a particularly good seal is achieved when the sealing film completely covers the top of the stack of wet wipes.
- the sealing film can turn out to be relatively large, which can make it more difficult to pull the sealing film out of the dispenser system. So that the sealing film can be easily pulled out of the dispenser system, the edge area of the sealing film preferably always covers the perforation by no more than 3 cm.
- the sealing film can be designed essentially rectangular, circular or oval-shaped.
- the sealing film and the perforation have the same shape.
- both the sealing film and the perforation can be oval-shaped.
- a side of the sealing film facing the inner film layer is preferably essentially completely in contact with the inner film layer with the perforation. This can be achieved in that the dimensions of the stack and the packaging are matched to one another in such a way that the sealing film can be pressed by the stack against the inner film layer with the perforation and held in position. Then the sealing foil can best protect the perforation from contact with the liquid from the wet wipes.
- a removal opening can be formed in the film laminate by opening the closure element and removing the pull-off element from the package, the weakened area remaining adhered to the pull-off element together with the sealing film.
- the removal opening can then be covered again in an essentially airtight manner by closing the closure element.
- Foil packaging 2 approx. 190 mm x 345 mm x 50 mm (width x length x height) hinged lid 3 with frame 4 : approx. 74 mm x 98 mm (width x length)
- Sticker 5 approx. 45 mm x 70 mm (width x length)
- Perforation 6 removal opening 18 : approx. 25 mm x 50 mm (width x length)
- Sealing foil 8 approx. 55 mm x 80 mm (width x length)
- the dispenser system 1 with the aforementioned dimensions can contain a stack 10 with 40 wet wipes.
- the wet wipes In the unfolded state, the wet wipes can be approximately 250 mm x 380 mm (width x length) in size.
- FIGS. 8a and 8b show the result of a test in which the effect of the sealing film was simulated.
