Definitions

  • the invention relates to a drain hood for a drain fitting for bathtubs and/or shower trays with a base body and with receptacles formed on the underside of the base body for attachment to the drain fitting, the base body being made of a non-metallic material.
  • the invention also relates to a drain fitting with a drain housing with an upper inlet opening and with a drain connection, with a drain flange arranged on the upper inlet opening and with a drain hood.
  • a generic drain hood is known, which can be placed on a fastening flange (drain flange) delimiting the inlet opening from above onto three protruding fastening screws. This positions and fixes the drain hood so that the drain fitting is covered and is not directly visible and so that the drain hood determines the design of the drain fitting.
  • a drain hood described above must be securely attached to the drain flange (mounting flange).
  • the drain flange mounting flange
  • the drain hood can be manufactured cheaply in the form of a standardized plastic casting.
  • the surface of the drain hood made of plastic is usually chrome-plated to give the drain hood a high-quality appearance.
  • the plastic drain covers therefore represent a practical solution, but have the disadvantage that the design can only be changed to a small extent. Therefore, high-quality solutions made of metal are also known.
  • the described type of releasable fixation by means of receptacles on the underside of the base body results in high costs, because the casting, pressing, turning and/or milling of the drain hood leads to an unacceptable level of effort, particularly in small quantities.
  • a plastic hood is therefore inexpensive as a standard component and a hood as a metal component, for example as a brass pressed part, is very expensive and complex.
  • the DE 20 2005 004 101 U1 discloses a sanitary tub with a drain fitting connected to a drain opening on the underside and a lid arranged above the drain opening, with a gap for water drainage remaining between the lid and the tub base.
  • the drain opening is arranged in a recess in the tub base, the lid having a shape adapted to the recess and being inserted into the recess with a circumferential spacing gap in such a way that it is flush with the area of the tub base surrounding the recess.
  • the lid has a dimensionally stable support and a cap that is firmly connected to it.
  • a circular mounting plate protruding into the recess is attached to the drain fitting, on which the cover is rotatably mounted with a clamp fit.
  • a similar sanitary tub which has a drain device arranged in the area of the drain opening.
  • the drain device comprises a clamping ring section which extends over the top of the tub body at the drain opening, a valve cone movable in the vertical direction between an open position and a closed position with a seal running around the circumference, a valve seat which interacts with the seal in the closed position and a valve seat arranged above the valve cone.
  • fixed lid fixed lid.
  • the tub body has a recess around the drain opening into which the lid is inserted.
  • the valve seat which interacts with the seal of the valve cone, is formed on the clamping ring section, with a lateral one above the clamping ring section Holding section having inflow openings is provided, onto which the lid is placed.
  • the lid is formed from a carrier and a surface material made of steel enamel arranged thereon.
  • the DE 27 08 893 A1 discloses a drain closure with a closure holding basket having a base plate, which is arranged in a drain pipe connected to a basin housing, and with a closure plug that can be sealingly inserted into the closure holding basket.
  • a stationary magnet is arranged on the base plate of the closure holding basket, with a connecting rod being arranged to be longitudinally displaceable in a central recess of the stationary magnet and the base plate.
  • the connecting rod carries a locking magnet at its inner end facing the drain pipe and a closing magnet at its outer end facing the basin housing.
  • the closure plug is connected to a holding magnet, which can be connected to the closing magnet by magnetic force, the closing, holding, latching and stationary magnets being arranged with the same magnetization direction and the holding magnet having a greater pole strength than the stationary magnet.
  • the present invention is based on the technical problem of providing a drain hood of the type mentioned at the beginning and a drain fitting provided with it, which are easy and inexpensive to produce in a twist-proof and high-quality design.
  • a drain hood according to claim 1.
  • a cover made of a metal or a metal alloy is releasably attached to the top of the base body, the cover having a friction or positive locking element made of a non-metallic material glued to its underside, and the top of the base body being designed in such a way that in conjunction with the friction or positive locking element, it prevents the cover from rotating relative to the base body, whereby, if the friction or positive locking element is a positive locking element, the region of the top of the base body facing the positive locking element has a positive locking structure corresponding to the positive locking element, or, if the friction or positive locking element is a friction locking element, the friction locking element is in the form of a ring made of hard plastic with a rough Surface or a rubber ring is designed, while the area of the top of the base body facing the friction element has a rough surface.
  • the cover preferably completely covers the base body, so that the base body and thus also the drain fitting cannot be seen from above.
  • the inventive idea is to separate the high-quality cover made of metal or a metal alloy and the technical fixation on the drain flange through the underside of the base body.
  • the base body therefore serves as an intermediate plastic adapter which accommodates and centers the preferably rotationally symmetrical, rectangular or differently designed cover.
  • the costly metal part can thus be produced as a simple stamped part and then provided with various design coatings, for example a chrome, enamel or lacquer coating, while the relatively complicated structure of the underside of the base body can be produced in a cost-effective manner, for example by plastic casting.
  • design coatings for example a chrome, enamel or lacquer coating
  • the functions such as force transmission, fixation and formation of interfaces can be produced using base bodies that can be produced inexpensively, for example in the form of plastic parts.
  • the cover has a friction or positive locking element made of a non-metallic material glued to its underside and the top of the base body is designed so that it creates a frictional or positive connection with the frictional or positive locking element.
  • the frictional element is designed in the form of a ring made of hard plastic with a rough surface or a rubber ring, while the area of the top of the base body facing the frictional element has a rough surface.
  • the cover is glued on the underside to a form-fitting element made of a non-metallic material
  • the area of the top of the base body facing the form-fitting element has a form-fitting structure corresponding to the form-fitting element.
  • An advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the positive locking element has spur teeth, the base body has a spur toothing corresponding to the spur toothing on the top side.
  • a toothing makes it possible to achieve both a particularly reliable anti-twist protection between the base body, which can be connected to the drain fitting in a detachable but rotationally and tilt-proof manner, and the cover, which can be connected to the base body in a tilt-proof and detachable manner, as well as an independent centering of the cover relative to the base body.
  • a spur toothing which can also be referred to as a flat serration, is characterized by a very low overall height, so that the overall height of the drain hood according to the invention is not or hardly higher than the overall height of a conventional drain hood, such as in the EP 2 363 543 A1 is shown.
  • the base body has an edge on the top that surrounds the corresponding spur toothing and projects upwards relative to this spur toothing.
  • This edge which is preferably designed as a circumferential edge or annular projection, can also bring about or contribute to an independent centering of the cover relative to the base body.
  • the upwardly protruding edge as a support surface for the cover improves the dimensional stability of the drain hood.
  • the cover preferably has an inner contour which enables the cover to be centered relative to the base body.
  • the cover can therefore be easily placed on the base body, so that only a suitable fixation of the cover on the base body is required.
  • the form-fitting element and the top of the base body can also be designed to center the cover relative to the base body. This can be achieved, for example, by the spur gearing mentioned above.
  • At least one magnet arranged on the base body is provided, which fixes the cover placed on the base body.
  • the cover can therefore be detachably connected to the base body in a simple manner.
  • the cover made of a magnetic metal or a magnetic metal alloy is held on the base body and centered by its own geometry of the cover and base body or its own geometry of the positive locking element and the top of the base body.
  • the base body made of a non-metallic material ultimately fixes the drain hood composed of the base body and the cover on the drain flange (mounting flange) of the drain fitting.
  • the at least one magnet is preferably arranged in a waterproof receptacle or capsule. It is therefore protected from corrosion.
  • the inner contour of the cover can also enable a detachable, positive and non-positive attachment of the cover to the base body.
  • the cover and the base body can be designed in such a way that the cover can be clipped onto the base body by overcoming a slight tension without requiring a great deal of force. The pretension of the cover then creates the force required for fixing.
  • the attachment of the cover to the base body is designed to be detachable. This offers the advantage of simply replacing the cover if it wears out or for cleaning the drain fitting.
  • a drain fitting for bathtubs and/or shower trays which has a drain housing with an inlet opening and a drain connection, with a drain flange (mounting flange) being arranged at the inlet opening, and which has a previously described drain hood .
  • protruding elements are provided on the top of the drain flange, which correspond to the receptacles arranged on the underside of the base body.
  • FIG. 1 A shower tray 1 is shown as an example, which is designed in the form of a flat shower tray.
  • the top of the shower tray (shower tray) 1 is designed with a slight slope towards a floor opening (trough opening) 1.1.
  • a drain fitting 4 is mounted on the floor opening 1.1, for example according to the in Fig. 6 drain fitting 4 shown is executed.
  • the drain fitting 4 has a drain housing 22 with an upper inlet opening 24 and a drain connection 26.
  • the drain housing 22 contains a wall designed as a barrier (not shown) which defines an overflow edge and, together with an immersion pipe 25 inserted into the inlet opening 24, which is at a distance ends in front of the bottom of the drain housing 22, forming a sealing water intake as an odor trap.
  • the drain connection 26 is preferably arranged laterally on the drain housing 22.
  • a relatively short, angled drain pipe 27 is connected to the drain connection 26.
  • the drain connection 26 is provided with an external thread onto which a union nut 29 which positively surrounds the drain pipe 27 is screwed.
  • three threaded sleeves are preferably cast into the drain housing 22.
  • the threaded sleeves are arranged on a common pitch circle and are preferably evenly spaced from one another. Screws 32 are screwed into the threaded sleeves in order to connect a drain flange (mounting flange) 28 to the drain housing 22 and in this way the edge of the tub bottom opening 1.1 with the interposition of a sealing ring 34, which has two axially spaced sealing flanges, between the top of the drain housing 22 and the drain flange 28 to be clamped in a watertight manner.
  • the drain flange 28 has the fastening screws 32 and the threaded sleeves associated holes or through openings, the heads of the screws 32 protruding from the top 30 of the drain flange 28 in the assembled state of the drain housing 22.
  • drain fitting 4 is provided with a drain hood 2.
  • the drain hood 2 serves to optically cover the bottom opening 1.1 of a bathtub or shower tray 1 or the inlet opening 24 of the drain housing 22, but to leave a sufficient gap to allow water to drain into the drain housing 22.
  • the drain hood 2 has a base body 6 which is made of plastic, i.e. a non-metallic material.
  • the non-metallic material or plastic enables simple and cost-effective production of the base body 6 with complex geometry, in particular the one-piece molding of the sleeve-shaped receptacles 10 and, if necessary, spacers.
  • a cover 14 made of a metal or a metal alloy is attached to the top 12 of the base body 6, which preferably completely covers the base body 6.
  • the hood-like cover 14 can, for example, be made of enamelled or painted steel, stainless steel or ferromagnetic brass.
  • the base body 6 and the cover 14 are, for example, essentially circular. However, it is also within the scope of the invention to design the base body 6 and the cover 14 oval, essentially rectangular, in particular square, or polygonal.
  • 2 receptacles 10 for the heads of the fastening screws 32 are formed on the underside of the base body 6 of the drain hood. Shots 10 are for this for example, sleeve-shaped or hollow cylindrical. Preferably, the heads of the screws 32 each have an annular groove into which a rubber ring which projects slightly radially relative to the screw head is inserted.
  • the drain hood 2 is thus connected to the drain fitting 4 in a rotationally and tilt-proof and detachable manner, with the sleeve-shaped receptacles 10 sitting on the drain flange 28 at the same time ensuring an inlet gap for draining water. If necessary, for example for cleaning or maintenance purposes, the drain hood 2 can also be easily removed from the drain fitting 4.
  • the inner contour 16 of the cover 14 is designed to center the cover 14 relative to the base body 6.
  • the cover 14 in particular has a downwardly projecting collar or edge 14.1.
  • the cover 14 has a form-fitting element 36 glued to its underside 14.2 and made of a non-metallic material, preferably plastic.
  • the top 12 of the base body 6 is designed such that, in conjunction with the positive locking element 36, it prevents the cover 14 from rotating relative to the base body 6.
  • the form-fitting element 36 has a spur toothing 37 on its end face (underside) facing the base body 6.
  • the base body 6 also has a spur toothing 38 on the top side, which corresponds to the spur toothing 37 of the glued-on positive locking element 36.
  • the spur toothing 38 of the base body 6 is preferably formed in one piece with the base body 6.
  • the base body 6 has an edge 39 on the top side which surrounds the spur toothing 38 and projects upwards relative to the spur toothing 38 (cf. Fig. 2 and 3 ).
  • the inner contour 16 of the cover 14 and the circumference of the edge 39 of the base body 6 serve - as stated - to center the cover 14 relative to the base body 6.
  • the cover 14 is centered relative to the base body 6 by the two interlocking spur teeth 37, 38.
  • the centering and the anti-twist protection achieved by the spur teeth 37, 38 do not lead to an axial fixation of the cover 14 on the base body 6.
  • a magnet 18 attached to the base body 6 is also provided, which is in one on the underside 8 of the base body 6 trained receptacle 20 is positioned.
  • the receptacle 20 is arranged centrally in the base body 6, which is round, for example.
  • the magnet 18 attracts the metallic cover 14 and thus fixes the cover 14 axially on the base body 6.
  • the cover 14 must consist of a magnetizable metal or metal alloy. The attachment of the cover 14 is therefore designed to be detachable.
  • the magnet 18 is arranged in a waterproof receptacle or capsule 19.
  • Locking lugs 21 are formed on the receptacle 20, which secure the inserted or pressed into the receptacle 20 against falling out.
