Definitions
- the present invention relates to a pulling device according to claim 1 with a scraper for removing played and weathered material from a tennis court ceiling.
- Tennis is played on different surfaces.
- the common types of tennis courts are sand, hard and grass.
- Most clay courts have a brick flour cover that requires regular maintenance.
- Brick meal is obtained by grinding bricks and is often a recycled product made from crushed bricks.
- the top layer of a tennis court ceiling is affected by mechanical stress during play as well as by the effects of the weather.
- moss spreads over time on permanently damp and rarely used areas of a sand court, which penetrates the top layer of soil and changes the ball bounce.
- a tennis court is also exposed to rain, snow, and changes in frost and dew, which deteriorate the quality of the top layer of a tennis court ceiling.
- a repair of the tennis court ceiling is therefore an absolute prerequisite for restoring the playability of a clay court.
- top soil layer also known as the top layer
- the mechanical stress described above changes the structure and grain size of the top soil layer, also known as the top layer, in conjunction with the effects of the weather.
- the proportion of fine grain in the top soil layer increases.
- foreign particles from the air as well as organic residues and organisms are also deposited in the surface layer. In order to achieve the desired playability, this wearing layer must therefore be removed in the spring before the start of each new tennis season and replaced with a new application.
- the worn and weathered top layer of the floor covering is first removed.
- This wear layer can be removed by hand or by machine.
- the old material that forms the worn top layer is usually removed with scrapers.
- the material loosened in this way is then removed with a scraper.
- several parallel grooves are first milled into the top layer and the old material is then removed with a broom or scraper.
- a pull-off device in which a vertically aligned doctor blade is rigidly attached to a frame supported by rollers.
- the position of the blade can be adjusted to the desired removal depth by means of adjusting screws arranged on the frame, which is usually approx. 1 to 3 mm.
- the blade is arranged at an angle to the direction of travel of the rollers, so that material loosened by the blade is transported to the side.
- the arrangement enables the wear layer to be removed evenly regardless of the skill of an operator, the physical strain on the operator being essentially limited to pulling the device with sufficient force to detach the cover layer. With the device, approx. 2 clay courts can be deducted per day.
- the scraper In order to enable an even and complete removal of the wear layer, the scraper must be set exactly horizontal on the one hand and on the other hand so that the removal depth corresponds to the thickness of the cover layer to be removed. If the removal depth is less than the thickness of the top layer to be removed, the wear layer is only partially removed, so that reworking is necessary. If the depth of removal is greater than the thickness of the top layer to be removed, part of the underlying soil layer is removed in addition to the wear layer, so that more material is required to rebuild the top layer.
- a pulling device which has a pulling ruler which is arranged between two support devices and attached to these in a height-adjustable manner.
- a roller by means of which the device is on two rulers or other guide aids such as a curb can be moved.
- each of the support devices furthermore has a forwardly projecting scanning edge designed to be supported on the respective guide aid.
- Each of the support devices is also connected via a vertical spindle drive to one of the lateral ends of the leveling rule, whereby the height of the cutting edge of the leveling rule can be adjusted relative to the guide aids.
- Laying guide aids on tennis courts in order to be able to pull them off in lengths means a very high expenditure of material and time.
- a tangent to the circumference of the rolling device touching the first edge of the scraper blade, closes with the scraper blade in the area of the first edge an angle in the range from 20 to 70 degrees, in particular in the range from 30 to 60 degrees and in particularly preferred embodiments in the range of 40 to 50 degrees.
- the tangent corresponds to the surface of the tennis court ceiling.
- the angle between the back of the scraper blade in the area of the first edge and the tangent is 45 degrees. This not only keeps the effort required to remove a wearing layer low, but also reduces the likelihood that the scraper blade will dig into the ground or lift off the ground during removal.
- the first edge resting on the floor during use is referred to below as the floor edge
- the second edge located above the floor during use is referred to as the top edge.
- the top edge can, but does not have to, run parallel to the bottom edge. For example, it can have segments which are arranged at an angle to one another, or can be curved, for example in order to improve the rigidity of the scraper blade.
- the bottom edge on the other hand, is always straight and aligned so that when the device is placed on the ground, it is over its rests on the floor over the entire length.
- the top edge is formed parallel to the bottom edge and has one or more bends in the direction of the front of the scraper blade.
- the two end areas of the handle are formed at an angle to one another, the end area of the handle attached to the scraper blade preferably being aligned parallel to the tangent indicated above and the other end area of the handle facing upwards away from the scraper blade, i.e. H. away from the tangent, points.
- the connection between the two end regions can be rigid, adjustable, rigid or articulated.
- An articulated connection facilitates handling because vertical forces exerted on the handle by a user are not transmitted to the scraper blade.
- at least a segment of the connection is adjustable in length.
- the end region of the handle attached to the scraper blade advantageously extends beyond the bottom edge, as a result of which the device can be pulled evenly without changing the contact force.
- a receptacle can be formed which, for. B. allows the attachment of weights to adjust the bearing force of the bottom edge.
- the contact force can be adapted to the nature of the wear layer to be removed without burdening the operator.
- a handle is attached to the free end of the handle, which facilitates handling.
- the handle comprises a transverse handle, which makes it easier to pull the device.
- handle applications can be attached to the ends of the crossbar, which enable more ergonomic gripping.
- the scraper blade is advantageously constructed in two parts, a scraper blade shield and a floor knife attached to the lower edge of the scraper blade shield.
- the floor knife can be arranged adjacent to the lower edge of the shield or protruding beyond the lower edge.
- the angle between the bottom edge of the bottom knife resting on the ground and the scraper blade in the area of the first edge preferably corresponds to the inclination of this area of the scraper blade shield with respect to the Tangent, so that the bottom edge is oriented parallel to the surface of the tennis court ceiling when in use.
- the floor knife is detachably attached to the scraper blade in order to enable a worn floor knife to be replaced or regrinded.
- FIG. 1 shows a stripping device 1 for tennis court covers, also called a scraper, according to a first embodiment.
- the pulling device comprises a scraper blade 10, which has a scraper blade shield 11 and a floor knife 12 attached thereto.
- a frame 20 is attached to the rear of the scraper blade shield 11 and connects the scraper blade 10 to a rolling device 30 comprising two wheels 31 and 32.
- the axes of the two wheels 31 and 32 lie on the same line within the usual tolerances.
- the frame 20 enables the scraper blade shield 11 to pivot about the wheel axles.
- the main part of the scraper blade shield 11 is flat and ends on the side facing the soil to be removed in a lower edge 15 running parallel to the axes of the two wheels 31 and 32.
- the upper edge 16 of the scraper blade shield 11 opposite the lower edge also runs parallel to the wheel axles, but in contrast to the lower edge it is profiled in order to improve the rigidity of the shield 11.
- the profile is created by bending the shield twice in the direction of its front side, that is the side of the scraper blade shield 11 facing away from the wheels 31 and 32 Figure 1
- the top edge 16 which can be seen twice forwards bent over, makes the scraper blade shield 11 significantly more torsion-resistant, an upper edge 16 designed in this way also preventing that scraped sand falls over the upper edge back onto the top layer of soil that has already been scraped off.
- a floor knife 12 is detachably attached to the underside of the scraper blade shield 11, for example with the aid of screws.
- the floor knife 12 can also be firmly attached, for example by gluing or welding.
- the floor knife 12 is attached to the front of the scraper blade shield 11. As a result, when a wear layer is removed, the floor knife is pressed against the scraper blade shield 11 and supported by it.
- the bottom knife 12 can also be attached to the rear of the scraper blade shield 11. In these cases, however, the floor knife 12 is pushed away from the scraper blade shield 11 when a cover layer is removed, so that a correspondingly solid design of the fastening is required.
- the lower edge 17 of the floor knife 12 protrudes beyond the lower edge of the scraper blade 11.
- the lower edge of the bottom knife 12 functioning as a scraping edge is called bottom edge 17 of the scraper blade 10 in the following.
- the connection between the rolling device 30 and the scraper blade 10 implemented via the frame 20 runs horizontally to the floor surface 2 on which the device 1 in the FIG Figure 1 ready for use position shown.
- the mean length of the radial connection from the axis of the rolling device (wheel axles) to the rear of the scraper blade 10 is called the pivot radius r.
- the scraper blade 10 is inclined with respect to the pivot radius r, the angle ⁇ 'between the scraper blade 10 and the pivot radius r being smaller than 90 degrees and greater than 0 degrees, so that the distance between the axes of the two wheels 31 and 32 forming the rolling device 30 to the bottom edge 17 is greater than the distance to the top edge 16 of the scraper blade 10.
- the angle ⁇ 'between the scraper blade 10 and the pivot radius r corresponds to the angle ⁇ between the scraper blade and the floor on which the puller rests. If the pivot radius r determined by the frame 20 does not run as in FIG Figure 1 illustrated first embodiment parallel to the tangent to the rolling device 30 which touches the bottom edge, then ⁇ 'and a are different. If ⁇ 'is greater than a, the contact pressure of the bottom edge is greater, if ⁇ ' is less than a, the contact pressure is the Bottom edge smaller than in the first embodiment.
- the angle ⁇ 'therefore offers the possibility of achieving the desired bearing force of the bottom edge even with scraper blades of different weights. In some configurations of the device 1, the connection is therefore designed in such a way that the angle ⁇ 'can be adjusted.
- the frame 20 has the shape of an Ms, the legs and V-tip of which are connected to an L-profile strip, which in turn is connected to the back of the scraper blade shield 11 at approximately half the height .
- the connection of the individual components of the frame 20 to one another and of the frame 20 to the scraper blade shield 11 is preferably carried out by welding.
- the wheels 31 and 32 are attached to the legs of the M-shaped frame 20, preferably at the level of the connection to the V-shaped part of the frame 20 enclosed by the legs.
- the wheels 31 and 32 are preferably equipped with wide tires so that they leave no traces in the soil exposed by the erosion.
- the spacing of the outer sides of the wheels 31 and 32 from one another is preferably less than the width of the scraper blade 10, i. H. its extent parallel to the axis line of the rolling device 30.
- a receptacle 13 for fastening a handle 40 is attached in the middle with respect to the width of the shield 11.
- another receptacle configuration can also be selected, for example a double receptacle for a forked handle. It is important, however, that the application of force runs centrally to the shield 11 so that no torsional forces are exerted on the shield in the horizontal direction.
- the receptacle 13 is designed in such a way that the end region 41 inserted into it is aligned parallel to the tangent described above, ie when used as intended, parallel to the surface of the tennis court ceiling.
- the receptacle has a locking pin 14 which is guided through the receptacle and the handle inserted therein in order to releasably connect the handle and scraper blade 10 to one another.
- the receptacle 13 and the securing pin 14 form a plug-in system with a form-fitting securing which enables the handle 40 to be easily mounted on the roller-supported scraper unit.
- the stem 40 has a further segment 42 which is rigidly connected to the end area 41 via an open square 43 such that the segment 41 and the segment 42 enclose an angle ⁇ which is preferably equal to 90 ° + ⁇ or is a little smaller.
- the angle ⁇ between the two segments 41 and 42 of the handle 40 is approximately 135 ° and more preferably 130 °.
- the length of the first segment 41 preferably extends beyond the bottom edge 17, so that the contact pressure of the bottom edge 17 can be increased in a simple manner by means of a weight attached to the square.
- the rigid connection of the handle 40 to the scraper blade 10 via the receptacle 13 prevents the weight force from being transmitted to the handle part 44 of the handle.
- the two segments of the stem can also be connected without a square 43 arranged in between.
- the handle 40 can be curved between its two end regions 41 and 42 in order to form the angle described above between the two end regions.
- a transverse handle 44 is attached to the end of the handle 10 that is not attached to the scraper blade 10, at the ends of which handle applications are preferably attached, which reduce the pressure exerted by pulling the device 1 on the palms of an operator.
- the angle can also be slightly smaller than ⁇ .
- Scraper blade shield 11 width 1350 mm, height from lower edge to first bend (45 °) of upper edge 240 mm, distance between first and second bend (90 °) of upper edge 30 mm, overhang after second bend of upper edge 25 mm, sheet steel;
- Floor knife width 1350 mm, height 40 mm, thickness 10 mm, steel, attached to the front of the scraper blade with 5 screws;
- Handle holder on scraper blade 11 square steel, internal dimensions 40.5 x 40.5 mm.
- Frame 20 2 flat iron 255 x 60 x 10 mm laterally welded to flat steel angle 60 x 60 x 1095 mm, 45 ° support on both sides to the flat steel angle with square steel, bolts attached to flat iron at the height of the support serve as wheel axles; Segment 41 of the handle 40 attached to the scraper blade shield: square iron with external dimensions 40 x 40 mm, length 310 mm; Segment 42 of handle 40 attached to the scraper blade shield: steel tube, length 1100 mm; Square 43 between the two segments: steel tube with internal dimensions 41 x 41 mm; Angle ⁇ between the two segments of the stem: 130 degrees; Angle ⁇ between the scraper blade and the tangent guided from the bottom edge to the wheel circumference: 45 degrees; Angle ⁇ 'between scraper blade 10 in the area of the bottom edge and pivot radius r: 45 degrees. Wheels: plastic rims with rubber tires.
- the removed material is carried along in front of the scraper blade and not, as in the above-mentioned prior art, discharged via one side of the scraper blade to be deposited as a debris line to the side of the pull-off surface.
- the puller 1 With the puller 1, the post-processing of the tennis court surface that is required in the prior art after pulling is no longer necessary. In addition, a more even and even surface is achieved.
- the force required for pulling off is lower, so that on the one hand more area can be scraped off per time, but the device can also be used to reduce the ceiling in addition to removing the wearing layer. This usually takes place in several passes, in which the pulling device 1 is pulled several times over the respective surfaces of the tennis court cover layer.

Description
The present invention relates to a pulling device according to claim 1 with a scraper for removing played and weathered material from a tennis court ceiling.
Tennis is played on different surfaces. The common types of tennis courts are sand, hard and grass. Most clay courts have a brick flour cover that requires regular maintenance. Brick meal is obtained by grinding bricks and is often a recycled product made from crushed bricks.
The top layer of a tennis court ceiling is affected by mechanical stress during play as well as by the effects of the weather. In addition, moss spreads over time on permanently damp and rarely used areas of a sand court, which penetrates the top layer of soil and changes the ball bounce. During the winter break, a tennis court is also exposed to rain, snow, and changes in frost and dew, which deteriorate the quality of the top layer of a tennis court ceiling. A repair of the tennis court ceiling is therefore an absolute prerequisite for restoring the playability of a clay court.
The mechanical stress described above changes the structure and grain size of the top soil layer, also known as the top layer, in conjunction with the effects of the weather. In particular, the proportion of fine grain in the top soil layer increases. However, foreign particles from the air as well as organic residues and organisms are also deposited in the surface layer. In order to achieve the desired playability, this wearing layer must therefore be removed in the spring before the start of each new tennis season and replaced with a new application.
To do this, the worn and weathered top layer of the floor covering is first removed. This wear layer can be removed by hand or by machine. In the case of manual removal, the old material that forms the worn top layer is usually removed with scrapers. On sand pitches with particularly stubborn and mossy areas, coarse-tooth scrapers or are often used to roughen the surface before the actual removal Scharrierer used, which have a toothed peel edge. The material loosened in this way is then removed with a scraper. In another method, several parallel grooves are first milled into the top layer and the old material is then removed with a broom or scraper. These procedures are lengthy, physically demanding, and require a lot of experience to be properly performed. On damp courts, for example when a tennis court is in the shade or in a wooded area, the wearing course can sometimes no longer be removed properly with a classic scraper or scraper, so that the exposed soil layer usually has intolerable unevenness.
To remedy this, a pull-off device was developed in which a vertically aligned doctor blade is rigidly attached to a frame supported by rollers. The position of the blade can be adjusted to the desired removal depth by means of adjusting screws arranged on the frame, which is usually approx. 1 to 3 mm. The blade is arranged at an angle to the direction of travel of the rollers, so that material loosened by the blade is transported to the side. The arrangement enables the wear layer to be removed evenly regardless of the skill of an operator, the physical strain on the operator being essentially limited to pulling the device with sufficient force to detach the cover layer. With the device, approx. 2 clay courts can be deducted per day. In order to enable an even and complete removal of the wear layer, the scraper must be set exactly horizontal on the one hand and on the other hand so that the removal depth corresponds to the thickness of the cover layer to be removed.
There is therefore a need for a device for peeling off the wearing course of a tennis court cover which is easy to operate, only the wearing course, but which is completely peeling off and which is more effective in handling.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a pulling device which has the features set out in claim 1.
Preferably, a tangent to the circumference of the rolling device, touching the first edge of the scraper blade, closes with the scraper blade in the area of the first edge an angle in the range from 20 to 70 degrees, in particular in the range from 30 to 60 degrees and in particularly preferred embodiments in the range of 40 to 50 degrees. When the device is used as intended, the tangent corresponds to the surface of the tennis court ceiling. In an embodiment particularly suitable for the intended use, the angle between the back of the scraper blade in the area of the first edge and the tangent is 45 degrees. This not only keeps the effort required to remove a wearing layer low, but also reduces the likelihood that the scraper blade will dig into the ground or lift off the ground during removal.
The first edge resting on the floor during use is referred to below as the floor edge, and the second edge located above the floor during use is referred to as the top edge. The top edge can, but does not have to, run parallel to the bottom edge. For example, it can have segments which are arranged at an angle to one another, or can be curved, for example in order to improve the rigidity of the scraper blade. The bottom edge, on the other hand, is always straight and aligned so that when the device is placed on the ground, it is over its rests on the floor over the entire length. In a preferred embodiment, the top edge is formed parallel to the bottom edge and has one or more bends in the direction of the front of the scraper blade.
In order to enable even removal, the two end areas of the handle are formed at an angle to one another, the end area of the handle attached to the scraper blade preferably being aligned parallel to the tangent indicated above and the other end area of the handle facing upwards away from the scraper blade, i.e. H. away from the tangent, points. The connection between the two end regions can be rigid, adjustable, rigid or articulated. An articulated connection facilitates handling because vertical forces exerted on the handle by a user are not transmitted to the scraper blade. In some embodiments, at least a segment of the connection is adjustable in length. The end region of the handle attached to the scraper blade advantageously extends beyond the bottom edge, as a result of which the device can be pulled evenly without changing the contact force. At the end of this end region not connected to the scraper blade, a receptacle can be formed which, for. B. allows the attachment of weights to adjust the bearing force of the bottom edge. As a result, the contact force can be adapted to the nature of the wear layer to be removed without burdening the operator. In embodiments, a handle is attached to the free end of the handle, which facilitates handling. In preferred embodiments, the handle comprises a transverse handle, which makes it easier to pull the device. In addition, handle applications can be attached to the ends of the crossbar, which enable more ergonomic gripping.
Preferred embodiments have a reinforced base edge in order to counteract bending of the base edge during use and premature wear of the base edge. For this purpose, the scraper blade is advantageously constructed in two parts, a scraper blade shield and a floor knife attached to the lower edge of the scraper blade shield. The floor knife can be arranged adjacent to the lower edge of the shield or protruding beyond the lower edge. The angle between the bottom edge of the bottom knife resting on the ground and the scraper blade in the area of the first edge preferably corresponds to the inclination of this area of the scraper blade shield with respect to the Tangent, so that the bottom edge is oriented parallel to the surface of the tennis court ceiling when in use. In preferred embodiments, the floor knife is detachably attached to the scraper blade in order to enable a worn floor knife to be replaced or regrinded.

In the preferred first embodiment shown in the figures, the
Near the upper edge of the
The underside of the
Since the
Due to the fact that the force required to operate the pulling device 1 is less than in the prior art and the design and arrangement of the bottom edge allow the wear layer to be removed evenly Guaranteed without further measures, more than 10 tennis courts can be repaired per day if the wearing course is normal or damp. Even with very damp tennis courts, ie immediately after a tennis court has thawed, more than 5 tennis courts can still be repaired a day. The pulling device 1 described above is therefore not only significantly more effective than the devices known in the prior art, it also enables tennis courts to be repaired in spring at the earliest possible point in time.
