Description

The invention relates to a press arrangement for dewatering a paper, cardboard, tissue or other fibrous web in a machine for the production and/or finishing of the same, with a suction roll around which an endlessly revolving, water-absorbing and air-permeable dewatering belt and the outer fibrous web are wrapped, and a following in the direction of web travel, surrounded by a smooth, endlessly revolving, cylindrical central roll, which is involved in the formation of at least one press nip with a press roll, around which an endlessly revolving, water-absorbing dewatering belt is wrapped, with the transfer belt taking over the fibrous web from the dewatering belt of the suction roll .

Such press assemblies are, for example, from EP 1 342 837 A2 as well as the EP 0 107 606 A2 well-known and because of their compactness they offer not only space but also cost advantages.

However, the transfer of the fibrous web to the transfer belt is problematic.

In addition, there is often the need for a subsequent offset press to eliminate felt markings on the fibrous web, combined with a loss in volume and rigidity.

The object of the invention is therefore to ensure efficient dewatering with reliable web guidance.

According to the invention the object was achieved by the features of claim 1.

The construction of the press arrangement is simplified considerably by the distance and the associated decoupling between the suction roll and the central roll. The transfer press nip ensures that the web is securely transferred from the dewatering belt to the much smoother, non-permeable transfer belt. Accordingly, to avoid rewetting of the fibrous web, the dewatering belt should be guided away from the fibrous web immediately after the transfer press nip, so that the fibrous web is guided from the transfer press nip to the central roll solely by the transfer belt.

In order to ensure reliable adhesion of the fibrous web to the transfer belt, it is advantageous if the transfer belt runs vertically between the transfer press nip and the central roller or is inclined in the direction of web travel by a maximum of 35° to the vertical.

Furthermore, the dewatering can be supported by an increased viscosity as a result of heating the fibrous web. For this purpose, the fibrous web should be subjected to steam from a steam blower box between the transfer press nip and the central roll.

According to the invention, the central roll forms a press nip with at least two press rolls each wrapped around by a separate, endlessly circulating and water-absorbing dewatering belt.

At least one press nip of the cylindrical central roller should be designed to be longer for intensive but volume-saving dewatering.

In general, the extended press nip is formed in a known manner by a shoe press roll which has a flexible roll mantle which runs in the area of the press nip over a pressure shoe with a concave pressing surface.

Usually it is sufficient to limit the effort only the last press nip Extended central roller. However, the dewatering performance can be optimized if both press nips of the central roll are made longer.

So that the central roller also offers sufficient space for the realization of several press nips, it should have a diameter of at least 100 cm, preferably at least 160 cm.

For comprehensive use of the suction roll, it should form a press nip, preferably the first press nip of the press arrangement, with a press roll around which an endlessly revolving, water-absorbing dewatering belt is wrapped. Due to the still relatively high moisture content of the fibrous web, low pressing forces are sufficient.

In addition, it can be advantageous for heating the fibrous web if a steam blower box is assigned to the fibrous web in the wrapping area of the suction roll, in front of the transfer press nip.

For reliable web guidance, the dewatering belt of the suction roll should take the fibrous web from an endless circulating belt, preferably a forming fabric of an upstream former for sheet formation and/or the fibrous web after the central roll from the transfer belt to an endless circulating belt, preferably an air-permeable drying fabric of a following drying unit be handed over to the machine.

At high machine speeds and/or high basis weights, it is advantageous if the fibrous web is continuously guided by at least one belt between the former and the drying unit.

In addition, the dewatering can be further supported by the forming fabric being guided through a pre-press nip before the fibrous web is delivered, together with an endlessly circulating, water-absorbing dewatering belt and the fibrous web lying in between.

The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. In the accompanying drawing, the figure shows a schematic representation of a pressing arrangement according to the invention.

This press arrangement is used for dewatering a fibrous web 1, in particular a cardboard web in a paper machine for the production of the same.

A high rigidity of the cardboard should be achieved by an efficient, but nevertheless volume-preserving dewatering of the fibrous web 1 . In addition, the smooth transfer belt creates a good carton surface, so that an offset press, which usually follows, can be omitted.

After sheet formation in a former, the fibrous web 1 is transferred from the water-permeable forming fabric 22 to a water- and air-permeable dewatering belt 4 of the subsequent press arrangement.

Before the transfer, however, the fibrous web 1 is pre-dewatered. For this purpose, the forming fabric 22 is guided together with a water-absorbing dewatering belt 23 and the fibrous web 1 lying in between through a pre-press nip 10 formed by two press rollers 24,25.

The dewatering belt 4 that takes over the fibrous web 1 from the forming fabric 22 is arranged above it and guides the fibrous web 1 together with a dewatering belt 19 running under the fibrous web 1 through a first press nip 11. The first press nip 11 is formed by a lower cylindrical press roller 20 and one above it lying suction roll 2 formed. However, the press roll 20 can also be a shoe press roll.

Because of the high moisture content of the fibrous web 1, relatively low pressing forces are sufficient, with the water that occurs being discharged via the dewatering belts 4, 19 and the suction roller 2.

After the first press nip 11, the fibrous web 1 is heated by means of steam being applied via a steam blower box 9 in the wrap area of the suction roll 2, which promotes the dewatering of the fibrous web 1.

Thereafter, the fibrous web 1 is transferred from the upper dewatering belt 4 to a water-impermeable and smooth transfer belt 6 arranged under the fibrous web 1 . For this purpose, the dewatering belt 4 , the transfer belt 6 and the fibrous web 1 lying between them are guided through a transfer press nip 12 which is formed by the suction roll 2 and a cylindrical press roll 7 .

This transfer belt 6 guides the fibrous web 1 lying on top around a central roller 3 rotating under the transfer belt 6 and, after being wrapped around the central roller 3, transfers it to an upper, endlessly circulating and air-permeable drying fabric 21 of a following drying unit of the paper machine.

The following drying unit is formed by a drying group in which the fibrous web 1 is supported by the drying fabric 21 for drying and is guided alternately over heated drying cylinders 26 and guide rollers 27 .

Thus, the fibrous web 1 is constantly guided between the former and the drying unit by at least one belt 4.6, which makes the web run very stable even at high machine speeds and high basis weights of the fibrous web 1.

The clearance between the suction roll 2 and the central roll 3 is between 250 and 2,000 mm. The decoupling of both rollers 2.3 simplifies the construction of the press arrangement considerably. The distance is also necessary in particular because contact between the central roller 3 and the suction roller 2 cannot be achieved because of the press roller 7 .

In order to reliably guide the fibrous web 1 between the suction roller 2 and the central roller 3 on the transfer belt 6, the transfer belt 6 runs perpendicularly in this section or, as shown in the figure, slightly in the machine direction perpendicular inclined.

In addition, the fibrous web 1 between the transfer press nip 12 and the central roller 3 is again subjected to steam from a steam blower box 8 .

With a diameter of more than 160 cm, the cylindrical central roller 3 is relatively large, so that two further press gaps 13, 14 can be formed in the area where the transfer belt 6 wraps around the outer fibrous web 1.

The first press nip 13 in the direction of web travel 5 is formed between the central roller 3 and a cylindrical press roller 17 around which a separate dewatering belt 15 is wrapped.

The second subsequent press nip 14 is extended. Here, a shoe press roller 18 , also wrapped by an endlessly circulating dewatering belt 16 , is pressed against the central roller 3 .

Shoe press rollers 18 generally consist of a flexible roller shell that runs over a pressure shoe with a concave pressing surface in the area of the extended press nip 14 .

The endlessly revolving dewatering belts 4,15,16,19,23 are used for receiving and transporting away the water pressed out of the fibrous web 1 in the respective press nip 10,11,12,13,14 and are mostly designed as press felts.

The acquisition of the fibrous web 1 is often supported by a suction-controlled guide roller 28, 29 wrapped around the absorbing dewatering belt 4 or drying fabric 21.

For this purpose, the evacuated guide roller 28,29 has a perforated roller shell, the interior of which is connected to a vacuum source.
